It’s the final episode of the Middle of the Road Podcast for Season 2! It has been an amazing season so far, and I am very excited to be rounding it off with an Economics Professor from my own university! Deborah is one of those people who is just right about everything and can back it up with really watertight evidence gathered through thorough research. You know that type of expert that Michael Gove told us all to hate. Well you are wrong Mr Gove (not for the first time), I for one love experts and very much enjoyed my conversation with the lovely Professor Johnston! I learnt so much and frankly if Deborah was in charge all would be well. I need to make that happen....

This week on Middle of the Road podcast we have a real political junkie with us. His name is Kyle Taylor and he hails from the Sunny lands of California! I met him at a Notting Hill carnival party, and couldn’t help but notice that his phone screensaver was a picture of him and Hilary Clinton. I was like WOAH, what kind of people are you mixing with?!?! From that moment on I knew we had to be friends. Kyle has worked for MP’s and is currently working on making votes matter, and making the Vote leave campaign responsible for their corruption. Anyone who knows me, knows that this is my dream kind of person. This is not to be missed!

Last week we had the Finns on, and this week we have representatives from Holland. This week I have on the lovely Anne Saenen on, who I went to university with. She works for Dutch television, and has been covering the horror of Brexit for the Dutch… How does one explain such a mess? She deserves an award.

This week is a very special week because we have international guests from the EU! Finnish ones! My old flatmate Marja was over this weekend for a visit, so I couldn’t resist the opportunity to interview her and her boyfriend Mika, to get an insight into what one of the EU 27 members think of our Brexit debacle. Let's just say it wasn't the most positive review....

This week I have on one of my favourite people, Mr Martin Skeens! Him and I agree on basically everything which gives my ego a nice little boost. I must admit I found that quite surprising at first because I’m normally quite wary of white South Africans, given the racial history of that country. However Martin is a gem, and I look forward to him agreeing with me on everything, at all times, on all topics.
Let it also be known that Martin brought a file of notes with him, which were full of research he had done for the podcast. Frankly I need to up my game, otherwise he’s going to take over my podcast!

This week I got to talk to the lovely Sanjay, who walked in to record the podcast as Theresa May was resigning. The timing could not have been more perfect!!
Sanjay is one of my favourite lawyers (and I know many), and he has this amazing ability to be incredibly reasonable at all times, even when someone else is being completely and utterly unreasonable. It's incredible!
Join us as we dissect the differences between the Supreme Court in the UK and the US. It's a juicy one. Oh and we also talk about THE resignation.

It's always great when you get to interview people you admire! I've been admiring Katie from afar for a while, so I thought it was time to get her on!
She is rather bright and very insightful, so essentially I learn A LOT in this podcast.
-
This week I had the pleasure of interviewing Leo Skelsey, a good friend of mine who used to work in a homeless shelter. I've always wanted to find out more about the work he did there, so this was my opportunity!
Plus Leo sang a song and accompanied himself on the ukelele! What a bonus!

I'm back!! I had to have a short sabbatical due to having to give birth, but she's 8 months old now, so no excuses!
I had the privilege of interviewing my father for this episode and apart from it being huge fun, I learnt so much about my Dad that I didn't know. Frankly he's got some bloody good ideas that I wish more right wingers would take on board. Daddy for primeminster!! (Only Kidding..!)

This is it! The last one in the series!
I decided I had to look closer to home for this one, and so I got my husband involved!!! I thoroughly enjoyed giving him a good grilling.
Looking forward to seeing you all for Series 2!

This is the penultimate week of the podcast. How time has flown! This time we have someone who has actually been on the front line when it comes to rebuilding 'failed states'.
We discuss intervention and I think I manage to stay in my lane on this one! Although it is important to note that Steven actually has all the answers. He knows what he is talking about.
-
This week is a bit longer than usual, but trust me, it's worth it! I learnt a lot and hopefully you will too..
It takes a lot to stay in your lane with an economist around!
-
This week I have Mads Radford on, who I really respect!
She always makes me think, and it is always a treat chatting to her.
It's going to be very hard for me to stay in my lane this week!
-
It's Independence Day! So I had to get a Yank on board...
Kelly is from the swing state of Ohio, and she has worked with die hard Trump supporters. She just about survived.
This week was an education, but I think i just about manage to stay in my lane!
-
This week we have the technology guru on Alan Cole. He REALLY knows his stuff, and this week I have been educated. I hope you get as much out of it as I did!
-
This week my guest is the fabulous Caroline Tranter! She seems to struggle with similar things to me; she sees lots of greys rather than black and whites!
I try to maintain my 'middle of the road' line, but it's tricky this week. Caroline throws in some curved balls...
-
It's our first week! And my guest is the wonderful Dan Bowring. I really do try to stay in the middle lane on this one, but it's tricky because Dan puts up a good fight!

Listen to what is going to be coming up over the next 8 weeks!
