  • Daniel Harris was a 29-year-old man living in Charlotte, North Carolina in August of 2016. Daniel, along with his entire family, are deaf and rely on American Sign Language to communicate. On August 23rd Daniel was speeding home on the I485 when he was pursued by State Trooper Jermaine Justus Saunders. Officer Saunders attempted many times to pull Daniel over, but a high speed car chase ensued. Daniel arrived at his house and got out of his car; within seconds he would be killed by a single gunshot from Officer Saunders. Both Daniel and Officer Saunders were misunderstood and this led to the controversial issues relating to police interactions with the deaf community. Some would argue that the fatal shot was fired too quickly, whereas others would say that Officer Saunders was justified in his decision to use deadly force. Join me as I navigate this complicated case and look at both sides of the story from beginning to end.

  • *I made a goof in this episode. I said that Panaca was in New Mexico, but it is actually in Nevada just north of Las Vegas*

This story doesn't start or end with Duran Bailey, but it should. At the end of the day, this man was lynched for an alleged rape in 2001. The justice system not only failed to find his murderer, but also stole 16 years of an innocent woman's life. Join me as I explain how a young 18-year-old girl named Kirstin Blaise Lobato got caught up in a Las Vegas murder and how she was exonerated after serving 16 years.

  • Susan Wyche met Mr. Wright in 1997 and he was the man of her dreams. He was charming, attentive, and could give her the stability and family she wanted so badly. 4 years into their marriage, Jeff Wright started abusing drugs and alcohol which made him increasingly more abusive towards Susan. In 2003, the abuse resulted in a fatal end and the murderer is set to be released on parole soon in 2020.

  • This interview was a direct response to the Episode on Tahjmere Hopkins' case that Crime Noir and Modern Murders covered in July 2020. Candice from Crime Noir led this interview with Mr. Hopkins while Ariel was present on the call. We learned a lot from this interview and Mr. Hopkins corrected some facts we got wrong.

    The corrected facts:

    1) The police did not show Tahjmere's mom his deceased photo. Tahjmere was identified through fingerprints.

    2) Tahjmere was not tied to the chair he was found on. He was tied, but not to the chair.

This interview is very important because it gets us closer to spreading the word about Tahjmere's case. It is still unsolved and police are not revealing any suspects or leads that the family is aware of.

If you have any information about this case, please call Petersburg Dinwiddie Crime Solvers at 804-861-1212. You will remain anonymous and if your tip helps, you could receive a cash reward of up to $1000.

  • Nehemiah Griego was your average teen boy who has friends, a girlfriend, and a large tight-knit family. Growing up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the Griego family lived in a large house on an even larger property where they could homeschool their kids and welcome in church members. Nehemiah aspired to be like his father, Greg, who rose above and beyond his past while serving first in the military and then in his church. Most of the kids had grown up and moved out of the house, but Nehemiah (15), Zephaniah (9), Jael (5), and Angelina (2) were still living at home with their parents. On January 18, 2013 Greg was working overnight while Sarah watched over the kids. Nehemiah and his mom, Sarah, got into a heated argument and she sent him to bed early. Something set off Nehemiah and he proceeded to kill his family one by one, including his younger siblings.

Fast forward to 2019 and the question of whether Nehemiah can be released on his 21st birthday is finally answered.

  • George Gibson and his wife Paige were happily married, successful, and parents to two Bernese Mountain dogs. On June 22nd, 2000 both of them went to work as they normally do. Paige hopped on a plane to New York after her work shift while George planned to go back home when his shift ended. For unknown reasons, George left work early that day after getting a call from an unknown person. Paige could not reach George when she landed in New York and she couldn't get ahold of him the next day either. When police arrived to their home on the morning of June 23rd, they were met with an execution-style crime scene. Who killed George? Did someone have a bone to pick with him? Who called him at work which made him leave early?

  • It was a normal day in Corpus Christi, TX when Kimberly Hill was caught off guard by an odd question by her son. "Mom, I need your permission for me to die" said her son Kevin. The answer was obvious and Kimberly told her son that she could not give him permission for something like that. This was the moment that Kevin made up his mind; mom has to die. What follows is an unspeakable crime that goes beyond murder. Join Ariel and Nate as we walk you through these events and what led to a chilling and unbelievable confession.

  • Oscar Grant III was returning home on New Year's Eve in 2009 when he was shot dead by Officer Mehserle on the BART Fruitvale Station platform. This was one of the first times since the televised Rodney King beating (1991) that police brutality was filmed by witnesses. Oscar's death sparked protests, riots, and questioned police brutality. Oscar's death was portrayed by Michael B. Jordan in the 2013 movie "Fruitvale Station" written and directed by Ryan Coogler.  Join us as we tell the history of two people that crossed paths on New Year's Eve that would leave one dead and the country shocked.

  • Bee Love Slater was a young 23 year-old woman when she was murdered last year in Clewiston, FL. Her car was found burned and her body unrecognizable for several days until dental records could confirm her identity. With leads drying up, Bee Love Slater still does not have justice. 5 years prior on June 19, 2014, a woman named Yaz’min "Miss T" Shancez was 32-years-old when she was murdered very similar to Bee. The authorities are offering up to $3,000 for information about Bee Love Slater's case. Callers can reach the sheriff’s office at 863-674-5600 and Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). The Human Rights Campaign identified at least 22 deaths of trans people in 2019 and Bee was the 18th. The American Medical Association calls hate crimes against the trans community an epidemic, but honestly, this is a global issue that is widely under-reported. https://transequality.org/know-your-rights

  • Viewer discretion is advised: This episode will talk briefly about sexual acts between an adult and a minor.

Glenn Kopitske (37) was an eccentric and odd local in the small town of Weyauwega, Wisconsin. He had a close relationship with both his parents and was living on his own with his newly adopted dog in 2003. After his mother, Shirley, could not reach Glenn by phone, she went to check on him at his home and was horrified to find the body of her son lying on his bedroom floor naked. Glenn was found shot to death and stabbed post-mortem in a very personal attack. With no physical evidence leading to a suspect, the case was starting to go cold when a young woman came forward to give information on Glenn's murder. No one believed the young woman's story, and no one could have predicted the story the killer told later to police.  The town of Weyauwega would never be the same.
