Rev. Dr. Christian Preus is pastor of Mount Hope Lutheran Church in Casper, Wyoming, and Chairman of the Board of Regents for Luther Classical College. He holds a Ph.D. in Classics from the University of Iowa and an M.Div. from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne. A scholar and translator, his works include Philip Melanchthon’s Loci Communes 1521 and contributions to Luther’s Works. Dr. Preus is also editor of Christian Culture: A Magazine for Lutherans and a frequent contributor to LOGIA. He and his wife, Lisa, are raising their nine children at the foot of Casper Mountain.

A lifelong Lutheran, Hardy was born in Bay City, Michigan, and attended Lutheran schools before earning his bachelor’s degree from Concordia University Wisconsin and his M.Div. from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne. He brings pastoral care, administrative leadership, and theological clarity to his roles within both church and higher education. Caleb Keith is a Lutheran theologian and podcast producer at 1517, where he serves as the voice behind The Thinking Fellows and Outlaw God podcasts and oversees the 1517 Podcast Network. Rev. Dr. Joel C. Elowsky is Professor of Historical Theology at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, where he also directs the Center for the Study of Early Christian Texts. A leading scholar of the early church, African Christianity, and patristic exegesis, Elowsky has edited and authored numerous works, including volumes in the Ancient Christian Commentary on Scripture and Ancient Christian Texts series. He previously served at Concordia University Wisconsin and held academic and research posts connected to Drew University, Eastern University, and the Center for Early African Christianity. Elowsky has been active in global theological dialogue, patristic translation, and mission education—bringing deep historical insight to bear on the needs of the Church today.

Rev. Dr. Jon S. Bruss is the seventeenth president of Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, and is an associate professor of systematic theology. With a Ph.D. in Classics from the University of Minnesota and an M.Div. from Bethany Lutheran Theological Seminary, Bruss brings decades of experience in both higher education and pastoral ministry. He has taught at institutions such as St. Olaf College, the University of Kansas, and Bethany Lutheran College. He has served nearly a decade as senior pastor at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Topeka, Kansas. A scholar of early Christianity and Lutheran theology, Bruss has translated works for Luther’s Works and continues to serve the LCMS through various national committees shaping theological education and church governance.

Dr. Stephen Pietsch is an associate professor of Practical Theology at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, specializing in pastoral care, counseling, and the pastoral theology of Martin Luther. Before joining the faculty in 2023, he served at Australian Lutheran College, where he taught and held leadership roles in pastoral formation and chapel ministry. With nearly two decades of parish ministry experience, Pietsch’s research bridges theology and psychology, particularly Luther’s pastoral care for those experiencing distress. His book, Of Good Comfort, explores Luther’s letters to the depressed, and his scholarship is used in pastoral training across LCMS seminaries. He is currently working on a second monograph with Concordia Publishing House on Luther’s approach to pastoral care.

Rev. Rolf Preus graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary (CTS), Fort Wayne, IN, with a Master of Divinity in 1979 and a Master of Sacred Theology in 1987. Ordained on July 1, 1979, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clear Lake, Minnesota, he served Lutheran congregations across Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, and Montana before retiring on August 9, 2020. A dedicated theologian and educator, Rev. Preus has taught theology at Concordia Theological Seminary, Concordia University Wisconsin, and St. Sophia Lutheran Theological Seminary in Ukraine. He is a prolific author and presenter, known for his essays and the Christ for Us broadcast and website, now managed by his son, Rev. James Preus. Married to Dorothy since 1975, he is the proud father of 12 children and grandfather to over 65 grandchildren. In retirement, Rev. Preus continues to preach, present, and write, sharing his theological insights and sermons.
