As we catch up with the guys we sit down and sample a bottle we have been dying to try. Coming out of Omaha Nebraska, this blended bottle is from the work of David Mark Young. Here is a list of some facts about the brand from DMY himself. Here’s a few off the top of my head:
-born is 1866
-grew to become 3rd largest distillery in the country pre-prohibition
- produced 13k gal daily
-generated 90%+ state tax revenue pre-income tax. Responsible for a lot of Omaha/Nebraska infrastructure and growth which is not a well known fact
-shut down in 1920 dispute being 1 of 8 distilleries invited to continue distilling for medicinal purposes. Declined because they had already pivoted to cattle (Omaha Stock Yards).
- revived in 2020 by this guy 😎
We’ve set up camp and are back, baby! Once again Golden Sheaf is alive and thriving not just in Omaha, NE but across the country. We are available in 45 states via mail order.
Enjoy the episode! And if you want more in depth knowledge on how DMY does his blending, go back and listen to our episode with him in January -
Jason aka Another Bourbon Guy sits down with the podcast crew! Zack has been waiting for this moment for a while everyone… We get to know Jason and how he got into his social media life. Jason details us his perspective of the difference of an influencer and an enthusiast (and he is spot on) and where he thinks he fits into all of this. We also talk about connections with brands, his own palette, what he really thinks of Steve Berman and put him through the longest set of rapid fire questions yet. Sorry Vinnie…
