This week, we’re joined by Evely Kaasiku, fresh off her incredible performances in 2024 and a true trailblazer for Estonian orienteering. 🥈 Did you know she’s the first Estonian woman to medal at the EOC? From the flat, green terrains of Türi to Helsingin Suunnistajat, we dive into her journey as a late-career peak athlete balancing elite sport with her marketing career. 🇪🇪
📉 What’s it like quitting work to go full-time as an athlete, only to return later? How does working with emotions at Feedbackly parallel the mental side of elite sport? And how should orienteers sell themselves to employers—or even to the public?
🎙️ Plus: Ralph’s dramatic hospital scare 🩸 Tim’s treadmill (yes, it needs a name—any ideas?)

This episode has high nonsense content and low orienteering relevance. The boys have an optimistic status update; Ralph has injured himself on purpose, Magnus with the sniffles and Tim limping around. We discuss all the polls that have been on Instagram. There is a song review, orienteers have been doing cross country and Park World Tour went to China. The quiz makes a return leading to perfectly predictable arguments. The dilemma is cold weather related, will fashion or practicality win?
-
Ralph and Tim face off for the last time this year at the World Cup Final. Will the sprint specialist manage to overtake the sandbagger in the overall standings? Magnus has been watching all the action from a Portuguese fish restaurant. Afterwards Ralph infiltrated the Swedish team for their WOC training camp. Has he learnt anything useful from the World’s Best National Team? Full leg cover or not; this is the dilemma that Tim poses to the boys, will shin pads be the answer, or is this going to the jury?

What does World Champs medalist Olli Ojanaho think of fish in rye bread? Olli survived EOC (barely) but his phone can’t handle the heat of this podcast. We grill Olli on injuries, camps, what it's like to be one of the best orienteers in the world. We also cover lions, sponge baths, stinky hotel corridors, Ralph’ new age and which one of the boys will miss WC in Finland. This week’s dilemma is a filthy one, you might wanna skip that.
-
Tim and Magnus battle against ‘The Great Hungarian Heatwave’ at the European Champs. Did they suffer more than Ralph is suffering in Oslo? EOC was full of excitement—we cover all the best moments, from stripping at the finish line to bold claims on social media, with some actual orienteering discussion in between. And of course, the boys get introduced to the absolute O-Pie. Ralph dosen’t even know what a wildfire expert is called and on top of that, he is having a hard time in this week’s dilemma.
-
What’s worse - hills or heatstroke? It is European Champs week! Even though it is an event that requires serious navigational skills, the boys have much bigger concerns after seeing the weather forecast. We get to know if Ralph is a permanent sprint specialist now, if Magnus succeeded in his quest of proving Denmark has hills and Tim addresses if he will melt in Hungary.
-
We have captured more planners! This time we bring you Frank Townley and Joe Hudd who were part of the planning team for the World Champs in Edinburgh. We cover how much work it takes, how the TV and tourists influence the courses, and if it has put them off planning for life.
-
Catch up on all the inside news from the World Champs. Ralph and Tim reflect on their own performances and also weigh in on the big talking points; challenging courses, running through offices, pushing and disqualifications. Magnus has almost completed his Danish hill week, find out how his quads are doing so far and who else is battling at the top of the Strava club leaderboard. We conclude the episode with the dilemma where orienteering fashion again battles against potential performance benefits
-
It’s finally time for World Champs! Have Ralph and Tim avoided further setbacks? Magnus has a challenge that could take all the media focus away from WOC. The summer internationals have started already with some exciting performances at the Junior World Champs, who might take Tim’s spot in the New Zealand team? Another dilemma is presented to the boys, are they ready to break the rules?
-
Jukola 2024 is consigned to the history books, but here on the podcast, you can catch a summary and an inside story of the incredible first leg pack. Hear how the boys got on with their predictions, will they still be friends after all the controversy? Ralph and Tim are looking forward to the World Championships, Ralph shares a bit about how his rehab process is going and Tim tells us about his fitness concerns. Magnus stayed in Finland after Jukola and brings us tales of the infamous mosquito chair and shares his new knowledge of Finnish traditional sauna rules. A little bonus for those of you who make it to the end of the episode, a short reading by Gustav Runefors.
-

-
An action filled podcast is now waiting for you with life advice for training and other situations you might find yourself in (hint might be in the cover photo). The polls have closed and we have exciting results for maps, animals, and vests. Or is it gilets? We briefly mention the upcoming World Cup, we might have a surprise for you there! We have been looking through your social media bios. Do the boys rate your captions? This week’s dilemma debate is a good one but something you probably wanna avoid listening to while eating.
-
Ralph toed the line at the “new 10mila” as the only one of the boys. What happened to Magnus? How many men did Tim service? And could Tim provide Ralph with some TP and avoid the nattmagen even as a service man? We discuss some of the highlights from an eventful night such as could Bækkelaget beat Farum Tisvilde? And did Ralph even get home after alarmingly having the Swedish police after him. Finally we catch up on some of the animal stories from a few episodes back

Have you got the munchies? In this 420 episode the boys discuss what kind of food they want named after them, how the Strava Club is going, and how sick Matthias Kyburz's marathon time really is. We also go through the inbox looking at tales of harassment while running orienteering, are Brits the main risk factor? Ralph has a quiz, can Magnus finally claim a victory?
-
Ralph has organised a surprise for the boys, the first ever live guest! Brodie Nankervis, the pod’s official medical advisor, is here to answer some vital questions; so refreshing to have an actual expert on so we don’t have to do any guessing. Magnus has been racing over Easter with Farum Tisvilde, what does he think of the first edition of the Swedish Relay league (Stafettligan)? Is Ralph still the best sprinter in the UK? Is Tim the best sprinter in his family? The boys have been watching the season start and have come to some shocking conclusions
-
One of the boys turns out to be a Swiftie, what did he catch at her concert? Ralph has a new dilemma for Tim and Magnus, this time about the rules regarding break ups. We have a new quick fire news section where you get to learn who eats baby cereal for breakfast, how pirates in the Red Sea are affecting orienteering, and other very important orienteering news. Also up for discussion is a potential new idea for the Knock-Out Sprint, the boys get nerdy to talk and the pros and cons
