  • Panda presents Kashuks. I received a demo a few months ago from this Latvian producer and I was blown away by what I heard. His tracks sound like they should accompany huge cinematic productions of tales of tragedy. It's somewhat like dubstep, but with a lot of hiphop influences mixed in there too. It reminds me a lot of Rob Dougan's stuff too.

All in all it's a very different sound than we usually hear from producers now. I love it and I hope you do too! Be sure to check out more of his music on Facebook and support it because we need more of this original music coming in to the scene.

His album "Piece of a Chance" is out now on Audio Rejectz.

Kashuks was born in 1991 and now he is a producer and remixer from Latvia. He has been making music since 2007. Kashuks started music making as a small joke and in several months this joke became in more serious movement. He started with hip hop beats only. From 2009 till 2012 he produced a lot of Latvian well known hip hop artists. In year 2010 his first hip hop instrumental release was nominated as Latvian Hip Hop Year Award and it was recognized as it. Now he has grown his skills and he intricately weaves multiple genres from electronic, down-tempo, melancholy and chill, hip hop, to experimental, to create truly mesmerizing pieces. On 17 August 2012 he released his first studio debut album "Piece Of A Chance".

  • Whoever said ‘it’s grim up north’ has yet to tune their ears to audio delights from production and DJ outfit Northern Lights. Comprising of Zak Burton & Gareth Kitcher aka Steppa and Kitcha, the duo who have been collaborating since 2009, have created nothing short of a hearty back-catalogue of releases under their Northern Lights alias; including chart-topping bangers championed by the likes of Congo Natty and Shogun Audio.

One of AudioPorn’s newest and brightest collectives’ Mediks return for their second release on the label, after the breakthrough success of their debut ‘Outbreak’ EP – the EP received a glowing 9.5 rating from premier electronic journal, DJ Mag and the Liquicity upload of ‘Blown Away’ alone garnered hundreds of thousands of views. Mediks have built their reputation on a marriage of technical aptitude and bouncing vibrancy, and their latest ‘Fast Lane’ EP is no exception to the rule with five unique, genre-crossing tracks laced with Mediks’ signature synth-workouts and relentless energy.

    ‘Fast Lane’ Ft. Texas

Opening with crunching snares and a tearing lead guitar riff that sails through the arrangement, ‘Fast Lane’ wastes no time moving towards its devastating drop. Paired with Texas’ flowing lyrics and waves of futuristic, laser-esque synth stabs, ‘Fast Lane’ sets the pace for the EP’s no-holds-barred approach to tech-orientated dance floor destruction.

    ‘So Cruel’ Ft. Georgina Upton

‘So Cruel’ is the perfect display of Mediks’ ability to simultaneously juggle a multitude of moods and tempos – with its down-tempo plucking synths and soaring vocals courtesy of Georgina Upton making her AudioPorn debut – rendering the listener unable to predict the switch-up in the arrangement when the track eventually breaks into its bouncing synth-led drop. Dominated by fluctuating mids and rumbling subs, ‘So Cruel’ once again underlines Mediks’ playful vigor amidst their trademark rolling energy.

‘By A Thread’ Ft. Georgina Upton

Continuing in the same vein from the runaway success of ‘Blown Away’ from their debut Outbreak EP, ‘By A Thread’ drops the all-out assault of the EP’s opening two tracks and focuses on uplifting, hands-in-the-air summertime vibes. With its pulsating stabs and Georgina Upton’s titular, soothing vocals laced throughout, ‘By A Thread’ is another glowing example of Mediks’ adaptability and keen ear for mood progression.

    ‘Hulk’

Displaying Mediks’ comfort in technical excellence at a multitude of different tempos, ‘Hulk’ drops the tempo down to 140 without losing sense of their signature boisterous intensity. With its processed claps, wandering retro-futuristic synths and guitar licks punctuated throughout the arrangement, ‘Hulk’ rarely treads on similar grounds twice as its mid swipes seem to have a mind of their own, floating effortlessly after the drop. Sure to send dance floors across the land into a mindless frenzy.

‘Hands On That Ass’ Ft. Messinian

Being no strangers to sonic experimentation, Mediks have come up with something entirely different with the ‘Fast Lane’ EP’s closing track. ‘Hands On That Ass’ welcomes premier wordsmith Messinian – who has toured worldwide, as Dieselboy’s front man in particular, as one of Drum & Bass’ most successful MC’s to date. With its rolling, militant hi-hats and G-Funk inspired wailing synths. ‘Hands On That Ass’ takes the usual tropes associated with ‘Trap’ music and evolves them, Mediks-style. Hold on to your hats people.

  • Introducing Statix. To put it simply, dubstep’s answer to Bad Company. Quite a title? With distinctive records such as ‘Mind Over Matter’, 'samurai' & ‘anymore’ shredding their way through the dubstep scene, it’s one that is definitely justified. Statix means …. Well, nothing actually, there isn’t a reason behind the name, although there is a reason as to why Statix contains 4 members. Eddie, Ross & John take care of the beats, while arguably Bristol’s finest dubstep MC 'Frilla' spits catchy hooks and bars on an unsuspecting audience.

Back in 2008, a Music Technology course in Bristol began to bring the group together. Soon enough, friendships were developed, musical influences were shared and finally, the idea to bring about the group 'Statix' was put forward and optimised. It wasn’t long before the world took notice of the somewhat refreshing sound the guys were bringing to the dance-floor. Radio plays from the likes of Caspa, Rusko & Crissy Criss followed a ‘mini-mix’ request on the infamous Mary Anne Hobbs Radio 1 show. The spotlight was significantly placed upon ‘Mind Over Matter’ which even featured on Mary Anne Hobbs’ U.S tour blog, beside the likes of Chase & Status, Joker & Plactician. ‘Mind Over Matter’ was then chosen to be released on one of the most exciting and contemporary record labels to emerge from 2009, ‘Screwloose Records’ where it would join highly desired up and coming releases from the likes of KOAN Sound & Asa.

After the sudden kick start, things only stated to get better for Statix, bagging themselves headline slots at club night across the UK and europe with the likes of Nero, Chase & Status and Being commissioned for remixes from the likes of Gatekeeper, Dr.syntax and Kate Mcgill. But as dubstep became more mainstream, The competition got tougher. They soon realised that a cunning master plan was needed to get them to the top, so they slowly slipped into the shadows to work on their sound.

9 months later, Statix are about to unleash the type of bass music the scene has been missing. Catchy vocals, Heaven sent synth lines, but keeping the basslines dark and nasty! Look out for the anthem that is 'Anymore' co-produced by the infamous Eddie K, seeing a release on H.E.N.CH in november 2011. Keep an ear out for forthcoming tracks on Screwloose records featuring 'Dr.Syntax' & 'Metropolis' (Foreign Beggars) amongst remixes for 'Zanetic' and Katie Sky and hold tight for the first ever static Drum n Bass colaboration with Hospital sensation 'N3gus'.

Perhaps the best thing about Statix is the fact that the talent doesn’t stop at the loading screen for Reason 4.0. Word of mouth alone established Statix high on the bills of several nights to start with in their home town of Bristol. Why? A well coordinated approach to live performances coupled with superb DJ skills and jaw dropping MC talent. Even with the somewhat dark sound the group can unleash through a sound-system, the future is most definitely bright for Statix. And with a live performance in the works, things are about to go from sick, to slick.

  • Hailing from Toulouse, Gauvain Fargeot aka Dilemn has come a long way in becoming the prominent figure in the French underground electronic scene he is today. Having been brought up surrounded by classical music and its influences, Dilemn engaged himself with a wide range of music from the aggression of Hip-Hop and Drum & Bass to the synthesised qualities of Techno before finding his comfort zone in Electro at the age of 22. Exposing and condensing all of these influences in creating his signature sound, Dilemn’s music combines crunchy beats and slick warm electro lines into pumping melodies that take inspiration from and evolve the French House sound popularised by acts such as Daft Punk and Justice.

Dilemn’s career as a producer began with the release of the ‘Phyzicall / Check My Beat’ 12” in 2007, which was followed up immediately by two more supreme releases, ‘Daylight’ / ‘Time To Sing’ and The Baguette EP with Les Petits Pilous later that year. All three releases were prime examples of Dilemn’s technically assured and confident sound, showing off the serious talent that this young, promising producer had to offer the scene.

2010 was a huge year for Dilemn as the producer unleashed his first full-length album, Better Worlds on Bordeaux-based imprint Boxon. Thirteen tracks-full featuring a plethora of France’s foremost underground talent including Youthstar, Blake & Wonderkat, Miss Trouble and Kloe, Better Worlds was given outstanding reviews that drew obvious comparisons to the works of the aforementioned Daft Punk. In the following months, not one to rest on his laurels, Dilemn released another EP on Burn The Fire with the stomping ‘Audio Control’ / ‘Got U’ which paired the producer with The Clamps (aka Imprintz). He continued to flex his production muscle having been approached to remix Porter Robinson’s and Lazy Rich’s Hello for Big Fish as the standout track on Part 2 of the remix EP, whilst Boxon continued to promote DIlemn’s emphatic debut LP with a 7-track remix package that garnered radio support from luminaries such as Annie Nightingale, Kissy Sell Out and Far Too Loud.

2012 is set to cement Dilemn’s glowing domestic reputation on our shores as the artist moves forward in experimenting with unfamiliar tempo territories. After causing damage in the underground Electro scene for over a decade this young producer is about to take the international stage, presenting his debut release on AudioPorn with a monster 5-track multi-genre EP that pushes tempo boundaries: the Talk About Us EP. Featuring the embellished hybrid arrangements of ‘Watts Of Funkin’, ‘Two Points’, ‘Kill The Nation’ and ‘Afraid Of Change’, plus the vocal talents of songstress de jour Ayah Marar on the titular ‘Talk About Us’, the EP sees the producer retain the slick production qualities and accomplished melodic arrangements he has built his career on whilst offering something resoundingly different to the previous Dilemn back-catalogue. A colourful and painstakingly detailed layer of sounds that waver on the brink of perplexed amalgamation without losing sense of that all important funk, the EP offers a simultaneous danger and optimism that flirts with classic French House vibes. A producer with a commitment to sound excellence and an astonishing comfort in variety and tempo progression, Dilemn is sure to stake his claim as one of the most promising electronic artists worldwide.

  • This month, Panda presents Metrik in the mix. Previously having him on the drum & bass channel, this time it's for some of his latest fresh tracks with a slightly lower BPM. His sound remains just as brilliant though. Bringing diamond-sharp crisp production combined with a huge outer space sound to you.

Tune in and thumb it! Let me know what you think and don't forget to subscribe. I'll be hitting 40,000 subscribers this month....PARTY TIEM! Thanks guise :) Tell your friends and help me to 50K!

  • This month, Panda presents Teknian in the mix. This 17-year old Swedish dubstep producer started out writing drum and bass music when he was 12 years old, later switching to dubstep when he encountered his first dubstep tune 'Africa' by the Others. Since then a lot happened as Teknian has received play support from names such as KOAN Sound, Culprate, Inspector Dubplate and Asa.

He is now part of the Screwloose Records family. Screwloose is pushing a fresh sound that is completely different from conventional dubstep that is a lot more minimal and deep. Teknian's tracks fit in there perfectly. His debut release on Screwloose entitled the Firedance EP is out now and can be downloaded @ http://j.mp/ItUnnf

In this mix, Teknian brings you a selection of his and Screwloose latest tracks and remixes in an exclusive mix! Leave your appreciation for him in the comments! Also don't forget to rate it (even if you hate it) and subscribe if you haven't done so yet. I'm almost at 40,000 subscribers which of course pales in comparison to my D&B channel at 90,000, does the dubstep massive keep it that way? Go subscribe and make it big!

  • This month, we present Syrebral in the mix. This 24-year old Australian bass music producer has been making music on and off for over 10 years but only in the last three years has started seriously producing and it is starting to show with the amount of attention he is getting recently.

His debut release was the smashing drumstep track "Broken Angels" that was released on a Drumstep compilation for Heavy Artillery Recordings. Syrebral's "Broken Angels EP" was finally released in December of 2011 with a remix by xKore.

Syrebral's music is a blend of intensely cinematic and orchestral interludes with extremely raw synthesized smashing drops. Syrebral manages to write music that is both gorgeous and frightening at the same time.

In this mix, Syrebral brings you his latest tracks and remixes in an exclusive mix! Leave your appreciation for him in the comments!

  • I am proud to present xKore in the mix. This 18-year old from Kent, UK has been making a splash in the scene lately with his continuous flow of ridiculously hard hitting dubstep works. Without a doubt, xKore is one of the hottest new names in dubstep for me and it's my pleasure to showcase his work on my show.

xKore started producing just four years ago, writing progressive trance and house tracks publishing his tracks first to the ears of the NewGrounds community. His music has evolved into a style which blends dubstep, drumstep, electro and drum and bass.

Currently on his first international tour all over the US, xKore has now received play support from big names such as Skream, Benga, Tomba and Dodge & Fuski. His latest release is one of his heaviest to date and the intro track to this mix: it's called "Hello" and is a free download on UKF's channel @ http://j.mp/t9tlDm.

In this mix, xKore brings you 17 of his latest tracks in just over half an hour! Leave your appreciation for xKore in the comments!
