And we're back! Thank you so much for your patience as I, JV, get back in the saddle to host the Pocketnow Weekly Podcast. I never closed the door on hosting this long running show, but I did find that I had to take care of my own stuff, personal and professional, as I juggled so many different projects at any given time. I want to give thanks to the Pocketnow team for always being understanding and patient with me, not to mention them giving me the space to do everything I do in whatever manner that keeps me healthy in body and spirit.
That being said, I had a great opportunity to bring back the podcast because some of our friends were together with me on a wonderful trip -- the Sony Kando Trip. Made primarily as a way for photographer and Sony Alpha camera enthusiasts and influencers to get together, the small core group of tech friends were also in attendance and I got two of them -- Thunder E of Booredatwork and David Cogen, TheUnlockr -- to join me as we talked about the entire lovely week and the Sony Xperia 5 IV.
Look forward to future episodes and I'll do my best to bring them out on a consistent basis -- but do bear with me as I get my feet wet again as the host of the Pocketnow Weekly Podcast!

Google I/O has come and gone, but there were so many great announcements made that JV and Nick Gray have to make a chunky episode talking about everything that they were excited about. Google I/O is on the horizon, and there are a few hardware announcements that JV and Nick are really excited for: the Pixel 6a, Pixel Watch, and Pixel Buds Pro. Of course, that doesn't mean we're really going to be seeing them in a few days, but it's still fun to speculate! Before that though, JV wanted to just put forth a bit of appreciation for pieces of tech that have gotten smaller, more powerful, and more efficient. Also, Amazon Fresh.

At the Mediatek Summit Jaime Rivera and JV were able to sit down with a couple of people from the company to talk the new announcements: Dr. Finbarr Moynihan, Vice President of Corporate Marketing, and Alfred Chan, the Vice President of Product Marketing of TV. They all go through the exciting 7nm processor announcement for smart TVs in the Pentonic 2000, and then open. up the discussion to the Dimensity 9000, the latest in a line of SoCs that is already making higher end smartphone experiences more accessible.
