It’s that special time of year again where love is in the air and we invite all you out there in the Rant Army to spend Valentine’s Day with the man of your dreams… or in this case- nightmares! This has been a tradition we’ve held since the beginning but tonight we’re also celebrating the 40th anniversary of “A Nightmare Elm Street” with an in-depth retrospective of the inaugural exploits of everyone’s favorite dream slasher, Freddy Krueger. Joining us in the Black Lodge this month we have “Razor’s Edge” author Blake Best with an ode to his love for Nightmare 1. Not to be out done but we also have star, Jsu Garcia who will discuss his racial struggles in Hollywood and a breakdown of his infamous death scene.

Happy 2024, Rant Army! Here’s to another great 365 days, 52 weeks and 12 months. Speaking of 12 months, that’s gonna important to what we have going on tonight. I am constantly being asked by you out there in the rant army for movie recommendations and It always gets my brain cells a churning as to what to recommend to our listening audience. It’s simply impossible to whittle the cavalcade of excellent possible options so fuck it- why do it when you can over do it instead !?! So, I’m gonna give you not 1 recommendation, I’m gonna give each and every one of you out there in the rant army 12 recommendations and short reviews. One for every month of 2024… but it comes with a cost and that cost will be your precious time because I am ordering the ranks of the rant army to watch all 12 of these movies over the next 365 days.

Well tonight we’re gonna celebrate Mother’s Day with an in-depth retrospective of a slasher sequel that should have been aborted, 1989’s Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child. Don’t worry, this episode is not all doom and gloom because we were lucky enough to have a couple of special guests stop by the Black Lodge this month so later on we’ll be hearing from the star of the Dream Child, Lisa Wlicox about the evolution of her character Alice from part 4 to part 5 then we’ll be hearing from our good buddy Mick Strawn about his work on the teaser trailer and why he left the production shortly after its completion. The Rant Army, song by song will whittle down the Metallica catalog to decide which head banging anthem will reign supreme. Album by album, each panelist will have 2 minutes to argue their pick for the best song and the tune with the most votes will advance in the tournament. In the event that each panelist picks a different song, there will be an elimination vote and the 2 remaining songs will be voted one with only one moving to the next round. This will continue until there is only one song left standing. Which Metallica song will win HEAVY METAL MARCH MADNESS III?
