Hi folks,
Today I'm spilling the beans about my journey with food!
In this episode you will find a very vulnerable share, as I walk us through the storms and trenches of struggling with obsessive behaviours and the need to control.
More than a decade after the perfect storm that shook up my world, I am able to share this with no fear of being judged. I know that by now this secret is no longer mine. And I believe that in this story, you will find echoes of your own human experience.
This is our story, yours and mine. I trust you will handle it with care, and I hope, it may support you, in coming a step closer to yourself.
Love to you my friends, S.
N.B. As in previous reflections, I will be reading a text I have written. I recorded this while away from the usual episode conditions so sound quality vacillates, letting the rain that was falling on that evening tell its own story.

So many emotions flying around at the moment! But one seems to be sticking out: shame.
Shame is a real pain in the butt. While it can be useful in small doses, more often than not it paralyses us. Social movements lose SO MANY good-intentioned allies to shame.
And that’s because shame is really crippling! Shame makes it all about us, it traps us in negative thinking, disconnects us, and makes us act in ways that only strengthen the shame.
So what can we do?
Last week I published a short meditation to get us unstuck when shame arises. In today’s episode we go deeper by looking at the art & science of shame.
We look at:
1) 3 reasons why shame is dysfunctional, especially in the context of social movements
2) a 5-step process (conveniently called “SHAME”) to get you unstuck when shame is here
My intention is to support you with resources and tools to add to your response kit to shame. So that we you may focus your energy not on fighting the shame, but on doing the work that you really care about.
Let's do this! #daretocare
Love and energy,
Silba

Our world is undergoing some big ass changes, and all of us are being called to participate. We are being asked to not only hear, but also engage in the difficult conversations, about race, about privilege, about justice, about the world as we know it, and the world as we want it to be.
These conversations will inevitably trigger shame. As our shadow is brought into the light, we are invited to unravel the axioms we have been living by, to unlearn the beliefs we held as our pillars and to admit that we have no shit clue.
While it is absolutely natural to feel shame in this process, it’s crucial we don’t let shame be the end of the journey.
Today’s guided meditation (link in bio) is aimed at helping you meet shame, journey through it, and come out the other side. It invites you to recall a time where you felt shame and provides you with a tool to understand it better.
Learning to recognise and work with shame gives us a choice: to stay stuck or to dive deeper. I truly believe that if we do this work, the elephant of shame may transform into a doorway, to deeper and lasting transformation. Hopefully this meditation can support you in the process.

Do you ever feel “too happy”?
Do you ever find yourself wondering whether you deserve your happiness? Scared it won’t last? Anticipating the come down when it’s at its peak? Resisting it so you don’t fall too hard? Scared it will shadow others, who may not be so happy? Scared you may lose control, enter unknown waters?
Many of us don’t feel familiar with joy. We spend so much time planning for the worst, that when sunshine hits our heart, we simply don’t know how to act.
As the writer Henry Miller beautifully said: “the most difficult thing to adjust to, apparently, is peace and contentment. As long as there is something to fight, people seem able to brave all manner of hardships. Remove the element of struggle and they are like fish out of water”
In this meditation I will be guiding you through a practice that gets you close-up to a moment of deep happiness and aliveness. You will be asked to get near it, to let it go and then welcome it again. The practice has two aims:
1. Build resilience: in difficult times, you can come back to this exercise to connect to the pool of happiness within you, so that you can feel stronger when facing hardships.
2. Feel at home in happiness: by practicing sitting with happiness, you learn to welcome it more fully, without fear, rejection, or attachment. You become comfortable with letting your aliveness shine through, without feeling overwhelmed by it.
Sit back, relax, and do reach out if you have any questions on this exercise specifically or any broader questions on the practice! You can find me on instagram @scrapthescript

Hi guys! Anybody else struggling to sleep at the moment?
There's days where I literally dream of being in bed all day, and then when night comes, my brain wakes up like: "nope, you're NOT going to chill".
So I thought I’d share with you a meditation on sleep, which has really helped me soothe the mind and find some calm. The meditation goes through a slow body scan, aimed at releasing tension in the body and allowing the mind to slow down.
The meditation only has a bell at the beginning so there’s no big gong waking you up if you’ve snoozed off halfway (which is the goal!!) - If you listen to it on Spotify you can set a sleep timer (find in options), which allows you to stop the sound after a certain time. On Apple podcast you can download the episode and clear the queue before pressing play. Let me know if you’d rather I send you the audio directly.Enjoy!

In today's episode I will be sharing a reflection piece on feeling incomplete. That feeling that something out there, will bring our search for fulfilment, satisfaction, peace (whatever it is) to an end. The learnt belief that one day, we will find the missing puzzle piece.
But are we inherently incomplete? Are we doomed to search our whole precious lives for something that loses its power when achieved? In this reflection I observe these questions, their source and their validity. In it, lays an invitation, for you and for me, to untangle the layers of conditioning built into the feeling of incompleteness and finally find our way back home.
Love and light,

Hi guys!
This is the third of a series of meditations aimed at bringing some quiet in this time of frenzy. In this meditation, I will guide you through a 3-step process aimed at welcoming and exploring the emotions that are here. The meditation is inspired by Kristin Neff, a psychology researcher at the University of Texas, Austin, who's work focuses on bringing more compassion to our inner worlds and through this, connecting better to the world around us.
You will hear 2 bells during the meditation - one at the start and the final bell. There will also be two wood block beats, one halfway through the meditation and the other one two minutes before the end.
This meditation is suitable for beginners and intermediate practitioners.
Please reach out if you have any questions on this exercise specifically or any broader questions on the practice.
Yours truly, Silba

Hi guys!
This is the second of a series of meditations aimed at bringing some quiet in this time of frenzy. In this meditation, I will guide you through a visualisation and invite you to explore the feeling of loss experienced since the lockdown. I will guide you through the resistance to letting negative feelings in, and help you disprove the story that says you are not strong enough to hold them.
You will hear 2 bells during the meditation - one at the start (02:22) and the final bell (15:57). There will also be two wood block beats, one halfway through the meditation and the other one two minutes before the end.
This meditation is suitable for beginners and intermediate practitioners.
Please reach out if you have any questions on this exercise specifically or any broader questions on the practice.
I hope you enjoy!

In today's first episode, I'll be sharing some thoughts on the past three weeks of deep surrealism.
Specifically, I will be talking about identity, and what happens when everything we defined ourselves by seems to be falling apart.
Please do share comments and reflections, they're all welcome!
Love,
