In this episode, I talk about the relationship between authenticity and loss, and how they are truly inseparable and intertwined. However, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I also discuss the importance of honouring others in their authenticity, even if it means they aren’t for us and we aren’t for them. // Join Magic May! Somehow the thing my haters love to dunk on me the most is how I’ve had plastic surgery. Yes I have! And I have absolutely no shame about it. In this episode I talk about why plastics are soooo triggering to some people, the nature of authenticity, and how we can see plastics (and other stuff) as intentional acts of self-creation.

Hi friends! I really wish I didn’t have to make an episode on this topic, but I’ve seen a wave of specifically witchy influencers engage in apocalyptic and doomsday thinking. I’m not naming any names, but these are some big accounts. That, and we just had a woman who was an astrology influencer engage in family annihilation over the eclipse. As this line of thinking, unfortunately quite common in some fringes of the new age, becomes more common in witchy, pagan, astrology, and occult circles, I thought it would be a good idea to break this down a bit and give y’all some tips for things to look out for and pay attention to. Stay safe out there folks, and remember: trust yourself above all else. // all my links: https://claimyourmagicwithsabrina.com/links

Something a little different today! Yesterday, for the total solar eclipse, I went on a pilgrimage to totality. In this episode I record my journey and you will hear the adventure to totality as well as totality itself. In future episodes I’ll talk more about how I feel now and how I’ve interpreted the experience, but for this episode it’s just eclipse day itself. I hope you enjoy! Hi friends! ARE YOU EXCITED?! I’m excited! In a little more than 12 hours we will have a total solar eclipse bopping diagonally over North America, and I have to say I’m already buzzy with both apprehensive and excited vibes. In this podcast episode I talk eclipse viewing safety for anyone traveling to totality or planning to view the partial eclipse, and offer some tips for reflection and magic and alchemy for anyone going cocoon mode during this time and choosing not to view, or living somewhere where viewing isn’t possible. I also share when in the last few years this eclipse loops us back to. Happy eclipsing! All my links: https://www.claimyourmagicwithsabrina.com/links

Hi y’all! It’s me, Sabrina, of the ever changing podcast names - but I think this one is the one. I explain a bit of what I mean by “claim your magic” exactly - what kinda magic? Aren’t I against magic being used as a metaphor? Well, yes! But there’s more. We also had a big snow storm in Toronto yesterday and I was outside the entire time - I loved it! I end the episode by talking about how snow and really any kind of season or weather can help us learn to lean into play, wonder, joy, and a concept I introduced in my first book, Witchbody: reinvigorated presence. // All my links: https://www.claimyourmagicwithsabrina.com/links

Yes, another witchcraft documentary! This time, here are my thoughts - I could not help myself as someone who absolutely loves documentaries! I even wrote a paper about the representation of witches in documentary film back in my undergrad - the short version is, at the time, back in probably 2009, witches were presented as either silly or sexy. This documentary falls into neither trope, but still completely misses the mark with its focus on identity and reincarnation, rather than witchcraft and magic itself. In this episode I give my full thoughts on the documentary “Coven” which you can watch for free on CBC Gem. // All my links, including freebies and info on my membership: https://sabrina-scott.mykajabi.com/links

Guess what? Despite the self-important activists thumping around on social media, virtue signalling in every which direction, you are absolutely NOT a narcissistic and self indulgent spiritual bypasser if your witchcraft is undoubtedly local instead of global. A lot of witchcraft - including the kind I practice - has always been rooted (literally and figuratively) in the unabashedly local: healing ourselves, undoing inter generational traumas, protecting our homes and families, and cultivating deeper connection with heritage, land, and environment. If you wanna do global political witchcraft, go for it - but stop shaming any witches who are keeping their practice closer to home. // https://sabrina-scott.mykajabi.com/links

Hi friends! I hope you’ve enjoyed these first few days of March. It’s sunny as hell here in Toronto, and I’ve begun by doing a complete reset and reorganization of my space. In this episode I talk about spring cleaning as a form of magic and energetic refresh and reset, and I also get into a little of what disturbed me so much last week that I couldn’t do my weekly tarot over on YouTube. The TLDR, radicalism and the celebration of hurting one self has disturbed me so much, and I share some thoughts on that as well. This month’s live class in my Claim Your Magic Community and Membership is on Spring Equinox Magic! Learn more and check out all my links here: https://sabrina-scott.mykajabi.com/links

Oopsies! Forgot to write the description of this episode. :) So here we go! Since I was 17, I was pro-Palestine, largely due to the work of my still-comics-hero, Joe Sacco and the graphic novels he made about that region and that conflict. However, with what has come to light around Hamas, tunnels, UNWRA, and the vitriol and hatred on the left, the ignoring of mass rapes and extreme violence against women - and learning more about what’s been happening on the ground now - my opinion has shifted, become more nuanced and complicated. Back in the first few months of this conflict, back when I was still pro-P, a 5 years long friendship ended because I wasn’t in the streets rabble rousing and waving flags. Since then, I’ve seen the most insane vitriol online, and insanely hateful things thrown about by leftists. What the hell is that about? What is with this mass excuse making for bullying and hatred? In this episode I discuss not only my own shift in perspective but how the left has come to treat the Palestine topic/issue as a “rage room” of sorts - smashing everything and everyone around them, with no regard for complexity, reality, or other people. In this episode I talk a little bit about trends in witchcraft, and do a flash back to my early days of practice in the 1990s. Back in the day, it was thought that everyone had to had a “patron deity” or deities. Now, it’s known widely that there are so many different forms of practice, with many people focusing on animism or Christian witchcraft. I share a bit about the first deities I worked with and why, and how they helped me, and share a little on how my altar practice has changed over time. Full episode on altars will be in my new Claim Your Magic Community and Membership, as will a live training call on everything you need to know about deities! In this episode, I talk a bit about my decision to rename my podcast, and lean into my own name as a brand. I also discuss naming as claiming our own power, pushing the edge of our comfort zone, and names as talismans.
