Lanea Stagg of The Recipe Records Series and Jude Southerland Kessler of The John Lennon Series chat with witty and entertaining journalist and author, Ivor Davis, announcing the 60th Anniversary re-release of his book, The Beatles and Me on Tour. Davis was the ONLY journalist to take the entire (Day One to Day End) 1964 North American Tour with The Beatles, and he also served as George Harrison's ghost writer for Harrison's "Daily Journal" in the London Daily Express. The following year, Ivor was one of only 2 journalists selected by The Beatles to accompany them when they met Elvis for the first time! Great true stories and a lively discussion follow as Davis releases his new book with 100 additional pages of info and photos from masters such as Harry Benson and Ron Joy. The effervescent lead singer and drummer for Cowboy Mouth, Fred LeBlanc, is interviewed by Lanea Stagg of The Recipe Records Series of rock'n'roll cookbooks and Jude Southerland Kessler of biographical narrative series, The John Lennon Series. In addition to video of two of the band's top charted songs, "I Believe" and "Jenny Says," Fred shares his musical tribute to John Lennon, a touching emotional memory he wrote called "12-8." He talks candidly about the impact of John Lennon and The Beatles on his life and how the loss of John made him realize that we're promised no tomorrows...urging him to move forward with his band. That decision propelled his group into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame and on to national success. Fred also discusses his love of New Orleans and Mardi Gras with the big hit, "Mardi Gras State of Mind." One of the most inspiring episodes of SSSS ever! Enjoy!

Let me take you back, 'cos we're goin' to 1963...with two of the most respected journalists of the year, London Daily Express foreign correspondent, Ivor Davis (author of The Beatles and Me on Tour) and Westinghouse Network journalist, Art Schreiber (author of Out of Sight). Both were there on the scene...and because of their prominence were chosen to tour with The Beatles the following year. But what led up to the rise of The Beatles in America in early '64? We'll talk about that...about Vietnam, the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, and some of the year's biggest events. Lots of great photos of TV shows, stars, and events that made 1963 so singular. Hosted by Bob Wilson of "Don't Pass Me By" (also on Podbean) and half of the "She Said She Said" team, Jude Southerland Kessler of The John Lennon Series, this is a special show with two primary sources who WERE THERE for each of these events. This riveting interview with Jay Bergen, John Lennon's attorney in the Roots trial against mobster Morris Levy, is a true one-of-a-kind. Bergen discusses John, the man, John, the creative artist, and John, the superb witness. During the court proceedings, John was asked to discuss how he arranged songs in order on his LPs, why he valued the songs on his Rock'n'Roll LP that had been stolen by Levy to create the Roots bootleg, and what his creative process involved. This is testimony that reveals so much about Lennon...things you've never heard before. Bergen is brilliant, articulate, and entertaining. Hosts Lanea Stagg of The Recipe Records Series and Jude Southerland Kessler of The John Lennon Series enjoy a lively chat with this wonderful guest.

The Beatles 1965 North American Tour was replete with exciting events: the unparalleled Shea Stadium concert, their meeting with Elvis, and Houston's near-tragic debacle when fans ran out onto the tarmac as The Beatles' plane was landing. But the ordeal didn't end there: the fans held the boys captive inside the Electra II for 40 minutes, as a daring escape plan was devised. Revisit this event, the press conference, and the two wonderful concerts that The Beatles gave in Houston in this webinar with John Lennon expert, Jude Southerland Kessler. Rare photos and music accompany the info. You'll enjoy this!
