James and Andy are viewing amazing artist Jakob Drummond!!! About The Artist Born in the mountains of Northern California, Jakob was raised in a small agricultural community roughly 50 miles from the state’s capital, Sacramento. At a young age, Jakob was introduced by his mother to a variety of musical genres. Through this exposure, his passion for music grew quick, but it wasn’t until 7th grade when Jakob would pursue his first instrument, guitar. By high school, his instrument of interest had progressed to the bass guitar. He would play in several punk and hardcore bands over the next few years, touring the states out of a small van and eventually landing shows at large venues and gatherings such as Sacramento’s “Ace of Spades” and “Van’s Warped Tour”. This exposure would prove to be a major factor in growing a large following for the Post-Hardcore band “Before You Fall” in which Jakob played Bass. After the band’s break-up, Jakob, now a multi-instrumentalist, found a new passion in songwriting and storytelling. He now aims to provide his listeners with impactful, heavy-hitting lyrics and ever-changing musical themes to create a long-lasting, honest ambiance perfect for any scenario or emotion. “ Tasty Licks Music www.tastylicksmusic.com

James and Andy meet up with Harry from Harry Muffs Disco. About the Artist Growing up two hundred miles from Montana’s only disco, Harry picked up an electric bass at the tender age of 1 month. By the age of 2, he formed his group, Harry Muffs Disco. In the late 1970’s, Harry Muffs Disco was signed by Sony Records and soon heralded as one of disco’s least celebrated bands. While working on his long awaited debut album for 5 years, Harry Muffs Disco opened for nearly every funk and disco act (including The Whispers, The Brothers Johnson, and Cameo) from 1977 until 1981. In that fateful year of 1981, Sony decided to shelf HMD’s debut album and officially dropped the group stating, “We think Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ will sell better than anything Harry Muffs Disco will or can produce. ” Drowning in a spiral of depression, Harry used the last of his recording advance on drugs and women for a span of 17 days. In a final act of desperation, Harry convinced his parents to be cryogenically frozen for 37 years while his legal team, McFadden and Whitehead, continued to battle Sony for control of his master recordings and publishing rights. Upon awaking in 2019, Harry immediately treated his parents for shock and continued to battle Sony in court and the streets for the ownership of his songs. Simultaneously, Harry perfected his stage show while living in his parents’ basement for the last year. Harry Muffs Disco has finally seized ownership of his record and is preparing to unleash it on the modern day music scene! Just like a fine bottle of wine, Harry Muffs Disco proves to get better with age, nearly forty years after its inception.

James and Andy discuss desserts and music with Redd Waters. About the Artist An experienced pianist, Redd Waters grew up immersing himself in blues music from the tender age of seven. Born in Rye Brook, New York, he cites his early inspiration from Muddy Waters, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Pinetop Perkins. During his teenage years, he began performing at different clubs and bars throughout the NYC area, and started writing songs that spoke to the intersection of his knowledge and appreciation of jazz piano, blues, folk, and Americana. Redd Waters went on to graduate from the Berklee College of Music in 2015, where his studies were concentrated in music performance and jazz piano with esteemed professors including Joanne Brackeen and Yoka Miwa. He continued expanding his technical prowess under the tutelage of Mike Ledonne in NYC, while also broadening his musicality as a guitarist and vocalist. Citing his former battle with addiction as one of the most profound experiences of his life, Redd Waters credits music as his medium for sharing his truth and Buddhism for overcoming his demons. Now residing in Southern Connecticut, he seeks to write songs which draw on his personal experiences, with the goal of bringing more authentic human connection to the music landscape. His debut release features sounds similar to Randy Newman, John Fulbright, and Leonard Cohen, and blends his original musicality along with a lifetime of education and development as a revered multi-instrumentalist. The highly anticipated debut album, “Dirt and Ash,” from Redd Waters is now available on all major distribution platforms through independent label, Lock City Music Group.

James and Andy interview the band First In Flight About the Band Two metal musicians looking for a change. Two jazz geeks looking to rock. A small suburb considered a “speed bump” between San Francisco and Los Angeles, a Craigslist post, a high school marching band prodigy, a college cheerleader, and bubble tea. This was the beginning of what became the national touring act First in Flight. It only takes one small decision to change someones life, and First in Flight is here to be your anthem music to make that change. They’ve created an 80’s fueled dance rock sound with the goal of empowering you to face your fears. Imagine if Cobra Starship and IDKHOW got into a bar fight. That sound. The sweetness of cotton candy in the middle of a mosh pit. They create music for those looking for an escape, seeking independence, and craving change. If My Chemical Romance is a shoulder to cry on, then First in Flight is the locker room pump up speech that comes after. Recently, they released their hit single “It’s Cool” reaching nearly 1M streams on Spotify, as well as their new track “Skeletons”. They also exploded on Tik Tok, accumulating 300,000+ followers in under 3 months. They’ve gone viral with their popular videos landing them placements on BARSTOOL SPORTS, GRANDMA’S STORY, and the IG stories of THE OFFSPRING and LARS ULRICH from METALLICA. They’ve seen similar success on Instagram. In less than 1 month, they increased their followers 13x from 5,000 to over 65,000, with their IG videos averaging 50K+ views. Engagement is higher than ever before and they continue on a skyrocketing trajectory towards 100,000 followers and creating an avid listener base of their new music. First in Flight most recently came off a full US Tour with Finish Ticket and has performed with acts like Vinyl Theatre, MILKK, and AllDay. https://www.youtube.com/c/FirstinFlightBand/videos Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/1JA4cJ0C0mbGNSy5VcjSxHFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/firstinflightbandTwitter: https://twitter.com/fifthebandInstgram: https://www.instagram.com/firstinflightband/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/firstinflightband

Tonight we are interviewing Batfarm.
About the band from their website: https://batfarmband.com Alexx Calise and Dennis Morehouse were exposed to music from a very young age. They’ve been feeling the effects ever since. Comprised of Calise, an introspective lyricist and “harmony machine”, and Morehouse, a masterful arranger and sound manipulator, Batfarm is a two-piece alternative rock band whose sound can be best described as “darkedelic”. The multi-instrumentalists keep it small not only for efficiency’s sake, but also to keep creating the music they want without added personalities. Though the two were from complete opposite ends of the country, they met in LA through a mutual friend. Realizing immediately that there was chemistry between them, the two began seeing each other. They initially tried to keep their romantic relationship separate, but collaborating on music was inevitable. A few years into dating, Dennis was asked to write some music for an indie movie. He approached Alexx to help with the song, and they immediately found that they had amazing musical chemistry as well. Shortly after, they started working on music for licensing together. What they found was that they weren’t just developing songs; they were developing a sound that could really be something. However, a myriad of things began to happen over the course of the next few years, which forced the project to be put on an indefinite hold. Alexx’s song “Cry” took off thanks to a placement in a major TV show, forcing her to really concentrate on her solo career, and her brother also passed away suddenly. Dennis started touring heavily and pursuing other musical ventures in the interim as well. The pair inevitably started to grow apart, and decided to end their romantic relationship. The story does not have a tragic ending however, as the pair decided to reconnect and record some covers just for fun about a year later, after the emotional dust had settled. Realizing that there was something still there musically, they decided to finally take those songs they wrote all those years ago, and perform them live…And so, Batfarm began. Ultimately, Calise and Morehouse thought they were just chapters in each other’s books, but they actually found that they were still part of each other’s stories. They were merely playing the wrong characters. Music has always been the constant and the bond for this powerful duo, and you can see their love for each other and their undeniable chemistry on stage and in person. The two even share joint custody of their cat, Bingo, who is often the subject of their promotional posters and videos. Batfarm have just released their first EP with longtime friend, Charlie Waymire, who actually gets the band’s quirky humor, genre defying sound, perfectionism, and demand for greatness. Combining Alexx’s grunge and blues influences with rich, choral soundscapes and Dennis’s love of industrial, funk, and psychedelic music, Batfarm creates a sound that is like everything and nothing at once. While the music itself is serious, they don’t take themselves too seriously, and it is their hope that the darkness of some of their own personal experiences will help others to find their own light.
