This one's been a long time coming, stoked to finally get Holly on the pod!
I first met Holly way back in 2020, since then it's been awesome to watch her on social media explode into the force she is now, providing real talk and a lot of fun to so many people.
After her being diagnosed with ADHD, she got the answers as to why she often felt so different to others, we delved right into this and why life once diagnosed as neurodivergent can almost seem easier as you can settle into your skin a bit more.
We touched on the dangers of social media, the juxtaposition of her status as an 'influencer' and trying to showcase real life while being entertaining and playing the game, the dangers of comparison on socials, especially for young women and more.
Finally, and a big subject for me right now having just restarted it, the benefits of going to therapy and why it's so important to keep doing it, even if you feel like you're getting better.
An enormously valuable and fun conversation with someone I'm stoked to call a friend, hope you guys enjoy as much as I did!
FYI, sorry my mic sounds a bit odd, at time of recording I was in my mums attic and using in person setup as my remote mic has done a disappearing act!

Great to be joined on the pod this week by Georgie Spurling!
Georgie is the founder and CEO of Arvra, a wellness app aimed at giving people the tools they need to live a better life, whether itâs physical or mental fitness theyâre looking to work on.
In the episode we got into why wellness can be viewed as something that people with privilege can take advantage of, why Georgie relies on âHabit Stackingâ, the effect of moving your body on your mental health, why it can sometimes be too much on social media, intrinsic vs extrinsic motivation, nutrition and a whole lot more.
An extremely valuable conversation with a great ambassador for the wellness movement, some really refreshing takes in here that I hope you can enjoy and take something away from.
Enjoy!

Just me on this one!
Going to carry on the solo episodes, people seemed to enjoy them last time and I quite enjoy having some time to chat to you all and catch up a bit!
I discuss the top 3 lessons I've learned from the last 3 episodes before going into the big life change I'm about to go through, why I bloody love my friends so much for having my back recently, where my own mental health is at and why I'm scared about trying to start fresh!
Finally I got into what I've been reading, watching and listening to, basically, go and watch Dune Part Two đ
Hope you guys enjoy and get something out of it!

Great to be joined this week by Pro Wakeboarder, coach and vlogger, Ryan Peacock!
After I saw the documentary Ryan created alongside the Dirty Habits guys down in Cape Town all about mental health within extreme sports, I wanted to get him on for a longer conversation about why it's still such a taboo subject within this industry and the power he gained from speaking out about his struggles.
From the idea and pressure of always trying to look like you're living the dream, the effects of social media and content creation on the life of a pro athlete to dealing with injuries, we touched on so many aspects of life as a pro athlete in the extreme sports world.
Something really interesting Ryan talked about was his role as a coach now and how he's striving to make extreme sports more inclusive and encourage people of all shapes, sizes and levels of fitness to get into it. It's a world full of gatekeepers and it was awesome to hear there's those like Ryan at the top of these sports being like this.
A really poignant, valuable conversation from one of the best to do it in their field, I hope you enjoy my conversation with Ryan as much as I did!

This week I'm joined again for round 2 by Mr Adam Sims!
Adam is the CEO and Director of the Freestyle Pro Tour, CEO of AALVAA Media and professional windsurfer.
One of the first remote guests I had on when starting this podcast, I thought it was time to bring Adam back on to discuss all that has happened since, how he's made the transition from a pro athlete to a business man and all the lessons learned along the way.
We discussed how he prioritises his life, juggling multiple jobs and commitments, how he stays so calm under pressure and the way he chooses to deal with people.
Given I now work for the tour also, this was really fun for me to get a bit more into it with Adam about how he goes about creating the team around him, why for him it's all about collaboration rather than a hierarchy and a whole lot more.
Super interesting conversation for anyone who currently manages people, but also great if you find you have a busy brain and don't know where to start!
Hope you enjoy đ

Stoked to kick off the episodes in 2024 with one of my closest friends, George Grisley!
George is a professional windsurfer, media manager for the Freestyle Pro Tour and and content creator. Having watched his rise over the last couple of years in the windsurf world, I thought it would be the perfect time to get him on to discuss his journey so far.
We chatted about his mindset, the work he's put in, how he copes with imposter syndrome, the importance of investing into yourself, staying present and a whole lot more.
A worthy listen for anyone trying to progress in their career at the moment, whether it's within sports or anything else, Georges journey and progress has to be admired and he has some great wisdom to impart, hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed recording!

It's been a minute!
Life has changed a lot for me in the last 8 months. Everything got flipped upside down so needed to spend some time on myself, doing the work and adjusting to a new way of living.
In this pod I just reintroduce and recalibrate, giving you the 5 lessons and things I've really held onto and how they've helped, hopefully they can help you too!
Sorry if the sound is a bit odd, it was recorded a month or 2 ago in Brazil and for some reason it just came out a bit strange, but still fine to listen to!
Hope you enjoy đ

One of the most important conversations Iâve had so far.
Steve Phillip is the founder of The Jordan Legacy, a suicide prevention charity created in the wake of Steveâs son Jordans suicide.
Using his platform on Linkedin, Steve now delivers talks, runs the charity and uses his voice to help break the stigma around suicide and help those suffering.
Iâve had my own experiences with these feelings. Iâm proud to say I made it out of the other side, but so many sadly donât
We discussed why itâs such an issue for men in particular, how The Jordan Legacy was founded, the practical actions to prevent suicide and some early signs to look out for if youâre worried about someone in your life.
Seems biased for me to say this I know, but this is essential listening. I hope you enjoy and take something from it!

Great to be joined in the lounge this week by Harrison Ward, aka, The Fell Foodie!
Harrison is a wellness speaker, outdoorsman and just an all round legend.
We discussed his past and how the Fell Foodie came and his love of hiking and cooking outdoors came about. It was a long difficult road and Iâm thankful to Harrison for his candour and grace in sharing his story and battles.
We chatted about:
His alcohol addiction, the vicious circle of using alcohol to treat clinical depression
Why men feel like a burden and keep their thoughts inside
Finding hiking, the gym and the mental and physical effects
Male body confidence and relationship with food
Imposter syndrome
An awesome conversation with some difficult subjects, but ones that we all need to speak and be more open about.
Hope you all enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed recording.
And please donât follow Harrison up any hills asking for food đ

For the latest ep of Sofa Sessions, Iâm going through the biggest lesson Iâve taken from each of the last 3 episodes.
The idea that your definition of success changes as you become more successful
The dream of sitting on the beach at the end isnât as much of a dream as youâd think
Using your passions to reboot your mind
As well as these, Iâm getting into my first BJJ competition, how Iâm dealing with getting absolutely smoked, why we should only be comparing ourselves to ourselves in the past and of course, what Iâve been watching/reading/listening to.
Another fun one, even though Iâm still feeling pretty shit đ
Enjoy!

Stoked to be joined in the lounge this week by Steve Gwenin.
Originally from the UK, Steve now lives in the Mother city running Surfers Life Club, a coaching business helping executives, business people and entrepreneurs to gain some work life balance, spend more time surfing and in the ocean and generally live a happier life.
We discussed Steveâs personal history with this problem, how he came to where he is now and more, including:
Finding work life balance
Why surfing is so valuable for mental health
The sunk cost fallacy, knowing when to let something go
Using surfing to reboot your mind and stay present
The muscle memory of your brain, learning to rewire old pathways to become more content
The negativity confirmation bias and why we need to look at what we want, rather than what we donât
And much more!

Glad to finally have Elliott in the lounge this week!
Elliott is an entrepreneur, business owner and all round good guy.
Entrepreneur is a funny word these days that tends to bring up negative connotations of 30 something tech CEOâs telling you to get up earlier and take ice baths.
In this episode we cut through the noise and get into all aspects of life as an entrepreneur.
We discussed:
Finding the balance between work and play
The drive behind building your own business
Why the dream of sitting on the beach after all the work isnât much of a dream
The snake oil salesmen selling how to âdo itâ without having done it themselves
The current Steven Bartlett controversy
Hope you enjoy!

Joining me in the lounge this week is the great and powerful Vicky Balfour
Vicky is a bike mechanic, bike guide, writer, presenter and as discussed, perhaps most importantly, a mum.
Coaching people to become independent and creating an inclusive, welcoming environment to help get people into mountain biking and learn to look after their own bike is the basis of what she does.
But with that comes a whole lot more. As she says, âFixing the bike is also learning to fix yourselfâ, something that came up a lot in our conversation!
We discussed:
The role of a stay at home mum and the stigma around it
Caring for someone with a disability
Why not being true to yourself is so detrimental for your mental health
The power of finding a passion
Representation and inclusivity in extreme sports
How our idea of success changes as we improve at something
Dealing with anxiety
The sexualisation of women in the media
And much more. An awesome episode with an awesome human. The world sorely needs more people like Vicky, stoked to have had this conversation, hope you enjoy!

Bit of a new format for the pod. Every 4th episode now I'll be doing a Sofa Sessions episode, including a lesson I've learned from each of the previous 3 episodes, what I've been watching, reading and listening to and some more tips and tricks I've picked up along the way for keeping happy.
Want this to be as interactive as possible so if you're enjoying, please hit me up on instagram and drop some questions/comments in for me to respond to in the next one.

Ohhh what a treat this one is, especially if youâre a nerd like me.
Awesome to be joined by James Dyer, digital editor in chief of Empire Magazine and one of the hosts of The Empire Podcast and The Pilot TV podcast.
Thereâs rarely a day when Iâm not listening to these guys talking about film and TV, so it was a complete honour and pleasure to get to chat with James.
The main thing I wanted to get him on for was discussing the power of escapism and how it can help our mental health so much. Whilst we did discuss this, we got into so much more and went to places I didn't even know we would, particularly James talking about his ADHD diagnosis, dispelling some of the connotations that come with it.
We discussed:
- Jamesâ experience with ADHD and his coping mechanisms
- Why finding your tribe and having shared interests is so valuable in for your wellbeing
- Dealing with imposter syndrome and recognising itâll never go away (and why that's a good thing)
- Mental health representation in film & tv
- Nerd culture in the mainstream
And a whoooole lot more. Man, what a joy this one was, even if youâre not that into film & tv, thereâs still so much to take from this.

#100 We made it! And what an episode it is!
Honoured to be joined this week by Ben Williams, ex royal marine commando, author and founder of Loopin, an AI tool designed to help with workplace burnout.
Having been on Diary of a CEO with Steven Bartlett before, Iâm not gonna lie, I was very nervous about this one, but Iâm stoked with how it came out and I like to think I held it together for Ben đ
In this ep we discussed:
Benâs history as a Royal Marine Commando
Prolonged Stress vs acute stress and why the world these days is so stressful
How to manage burnout and tips
The power of note taking and putting one step in front of the other
Ego vs confidence and the power of humility
Really pleased with this one, hope you enjoy listening as much as I did recording!

Awesome to be joined by Richie for my first podcast of the year!
Richie is a wellbeing & performance coach working with people to lift their mental and physical wellbeing. We discussed his time playing professional rugby before changing tack multiple times. Itâs in this that he found the experience to help others and I think is one of the best messages to come from this podcast.
Itâs ok to start again, itâs ok to change what youâre doing and what you deem as a success.
Finally we got onto why your physical health is so important for your mental health and is always the best place to start if youâre feeling lost. A wonderful conversation with one of the most in tune, relaxed people Iâve had the pleasure of chatting to.
Hope you enjoy Richieâs magic as much as I did, you can follow him at the link below.

Bit of a last minute one, but actually turned out to be one of my favourite pods of this year!
Always a pleasure to be joined by my good friend Bruce, in this episode we look back on the year we've had, discussing our favourite films of the year (you asked for it), the lessons we've learned and will be taking into 2023 and finally, we get into our thoughts on New Years resolutions, my goals I set for this year and a whole lot more.
Thanks so much to all of you for listening this year, despite me feeling like I've been lazy with the pod it's been a great year for it, see you in 2023!

Super stoked to be joined by The World of Windsurf girls on the pod this week!
All competing in the IQ foil windsurfing class and fighting for a spot in the olympics, these girls have formed a team together to support each other.
We discussed why they went down this route, but this podcast is about much more than just windsurfing chat. We chatted about how they navigate being young women in sport, fitting a certain mould, both mentally and physically and why they're carving their own paths.
A big point of discussion was social medias role, after the girls went fairly viral posting a topless photo, only for there to be a fair bit of backlash from other female athletes within watersports.
We discussed staying in your lane, why the girls are speaking about so much more than just being a pro windsurfer, whether it's mental wellbeing, sexual wellbeing and a whole lot more. As a host this was a great, eye opening conversation to have with these 3 girls who whilst we do the same sport, they've had and are having a totally different experience.
As highlighted in my recent convo with @thecompassionateman, it's important to get other points of view. Hope you guys enjoy this fun conversation as much as I enjoyed recording it đ
You can find out more about the girls below

A big episode...
Been wanting to get this one going for a while now. Maarten works with me for the Windsurfing Freestyle Pro Tour as the press officer, a dream role he got last year after recovering from cancer, some would say it's fate.
We discussed his entire journey, from initial diagnosis, operation, being in the clear, not being in the clear, chemo and eventual recovery, culminating in that sweet first session back on the water.
During this telling of his story, we chatted about his mindset, feeling anxious and depressed, how defeated he was during chemo, feeling old in a young mans body and a whole lot more.
Cancer is something many of us will experience, whether first hand or through a loved one, yet much like mental health, it's something we don't like talking about, especially men. A huge thanks to Maarten for candidly sharing his experience and leading from the front.
Stay tuned for his Movember journey this month and find out more about him here.
