You will see the current scope of the problem, including the impact on millions of Americans and their families, as well as the costs for our nation and our healthcare system. Through the course of this module, you will discover details about the medical complications of opioid use disorder including overdose and withdrawal, along with the associated short and long-term medical consequences and evidenced-based treatment and prevention strategies as our medical community accepts the task of reversing the damage. By the end of this program , you will better understand the course of the epidemic, the impact felt today, and strategies for the future.
