Brady is a young lad from the NW coast of Tassie, he reached out to us to jump on the podcast as someone who has a keen interest to help others. His 1%er is not a new concept for us, and it is something that seems to come up frequently in the podcast - Gratitude, and he describes how everyone has 'something' to be grateful for. We spend so much time looking down, swiping up with our thumbs for hours, whilst simultaneously complaining about how little time we have to do things that are important to us. **WARNING** This episode contains discussion about suicide and may be triggering to others. The story of the South Road Boys starts from a young age as best mates growing up in a small town in Tassie called Penguin. Long gone are the days where Troy would light Joe's hair on fire so he doesn't break his record on the local game machine, but the shenanigans have continued... This episode will be one of the funniest interviews you've heard when discussing men's mental health... and also, one and most authentic, and sometimes incredibly heavy. Dwanye 'Dipper' Aherne, is a North West Tassie Footy icon, and it only took 5 mins to realise what a great and genuine bloke he is behind the veil of a senior Football coach. Dipper starts the episode by reflecting on a moment in his life when he noticed a poster on a footy club wall - "The Harder YOU work, The LUCKIER you get!" and for him, this has been a metaphor to live by, and something that he brings across his life in football, but also in work and the rest of his life. He touches on a moment in his life where through no fault of his own, one of his passions was taken away from him, and how he worked through adversity to continue down a different path, but one that didn't stray to far from the one he left behind.Theres so much in this episode, we know everyone, will take something away from it!And please, if you're liking our content, give us a like and maybe even subscribe :) The bigger we get, the bigger our guests will get :DDon't forget, this is our third season of the podcast and we are nearly 30 episodes of deep conversations just like this one! Baxter is a well known clinical expert in his field, but the beauty of this conversation comes from the simplicity in his approach, and his outlook on life. We don't know if a smile will prevent all the worlds issues... but it definitely will improve your mental mental being. In this episode Luke share's his 1%er, which is to aim to make someone else smile every day.Men's mental health and well-being doesn't need to be complicated, and this episode is a prime example of how we perhaps sometimes, overcomplicate things. This is the second time we've had 'smiling' on the show as someones 1%er, and that can't be a coincidence. It is a simple action that can result in so many positive outcomes. Luke then digs into some of his history and other ways that he has managed his mental wellbeing whilst working under pressure in some high stress work environments. DO MORE than 1%! This was Beau's small piece of advice for others to be just that little bit better everyday. It seems like a simple concept, and through rules of mathematics, simply doing more... just adds up to MORE in the end! And I guess you can't argue with that!Beau's 'simple' advice is perhaps much more complex than simply 'doing more', his message is about being proactive, having courage to work outside your comfort zones, its a balancing act of keeping all the balls in the air, and aiming to apply consistency of effort across all these actions. He talks about his struggle with injury, and the touches on the challenges of coming off prescription medication post injury. This episode has so much in it, and such value in Beau's lived, and living experience.Don't forget, this is our third season of the podcast and we are nearly 30 episodes of deep conversations just like this one! It's easy... Thats the general consideration we've had about all of the 1%er's we've had on the show so far... and thats the point!
Mental well-being doesn't always need to be doom and gloom, and the blokes we've had on the show so far, are prime examples of how 'ordinary' blokes have managed their mental health well-being, and often their advice, isn't a hard thing to start.
We acknowledge that sometimes mental health can throw you a curveball and that can be hard, but we all have 'mental health' and this is our thoughts on the past 5 conversations and our reflections on how we've included their advice in our own lives.
This channels purpose is to give blokes a platform to share some small bits of advice that would help improve the lives of others, regardless of their gender.

Just SMILE!... This is the most simple piece of advice we have heard to date... Yet, it is possibly the most under appreciated wellbeing tools we can all use....
Greg Wing is a local footy icon, and to many Greg is the guy that's always willing to have a chat, and is incredibly passionate about making the community a happy, healthier place.
We talk about Greg's work role, and how a terrible situation in the workplace, lead to Greg and others developing some beautiful workplace standards which have now made their way across the globe as standards...
He also digs a bit deeper into the roots of club culture, and touches briefly on its impact for the community.
