As an Occupational Therapist, working in the area of head and brain injury, she knew how important the use of helmets is. After trying many makeshift solutions, she took it upon herself to create a product that worked for kids like hers. Bold Helmets has created the first safety certified multisport helmet for Sikh kids aged 5+.
We talk about how she got started, what she wishes sheâd known, how to create a new product from nothing, and how to market a new product while educating your audience about why itâs needed

As we approach the end of 2023, Molly breaks down her favorite tips for personal & business goal setting for a new year:
Good, Better, Best - Love this for races, but works well for a higher level look at business as wellâwhat went well, what could have been better, what do you need to be at your best?Social media, marketing, P&L statements, taxesâgahhhDefining success - slow growth vs fast growth, going all in vs letting it happen. What do you want versus what does the optimal day/week look like for you? How can those two overlap? Have big goals, but bring your Resolutions down to ones that are small + more daily/weekly in nature vs sweeping. Celebrate success when it comes! Know you donât have to have it all figured out / it doesnât need to be going amazingly just yet. Most businesses take 18-24 months before returning ANY profithttps://www.freshbooks.com/hub/startup/how-long-does-it-take-business-to-be-profitable#:~:text=Most%20businesses%20don't%20make,to%20the%20Small%20Business%20Administration.

Brittany Coleman started selling ToughCutie merino wool technical, performance socks in 2022. Six months into selling, ToughCutie had contracts with REI, Public Lands, Title Nine and more retailers. Coleman belongs to a small community, an estimated 1% of founders in the outdoor industry who identify as a person of color. ToughCutie is the first and only outdoor sock brand with a majority women-owned value chain and this business structure of prioritizing women vendors to create financial agency for women entrepreneurs is a reflection of Coleman's past. In this episode, we get into all the ups and downs of startup life, navigating loneliness, whether or not you should try to do everything yourself, and if a business degree helps or hurts when starting a small business.
