- Allan Rock is President Emeritus of the University of Ottawa, and a former Professor in its Faculty of Law, where he taught International Humanitarian Law and Armed Conflict in International Law. He previously served as a member of Parliament holding various cabinet positions including Minister of Justice and Attorney General. He served as our Ambassador to the UN when R2P was adopted.
- Lloyd Axworthy is a former president of the University of Winnipeg and Director and CEO of the Liu Institute for Global Issues at the University of British Columbia. A member of the Manitoba legislature and then member of parliament he held various cabinet portfolios including Foreign Affairs. He was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to secure the Land Mines Treaty.
