  • I speak to Rachel Drury on The Good Glow podcast this week.  I don't want to say too much about this episode. I'd like you to go on a journey with Rachel and she tells us a gorgeous love story.

She has so much to say about life, never giving up and most importantly the power of self love and forgiveness. I just know you will love everything Rachel has to say

  • This week I’m joined by Nicola Lavin. 15 years after getting bitten by a tick on her J1 and 15 tough years of being really sick, Nicola was diagnosed with Lyme Disease.

Yolanda Hadid first brought my attention to this disease on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills as she fought to be taken seriously. Nicola suffered for 15 years and was finally diagnosed. She underwent a stem cell procedure and her life improved drastically.

This podcast is an eye opener but also really important to know what to look out for when it comes to ticks in Ireland for you and your family. I was floored by her story, her struggles but also her amazing attitude to life now.

  • This week I speak to Dominique Nugent.

Last summer, Dominique shared something extremely personal. That she had decided to call off her wedding. Since then, she has been on a journey of growth and today she tells me about the ups and downs of putting her life back together.

Dominique is the girl next door, she is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. She has been through it, but has come out the other side in her own words as a ‘whole person’. She tells me that she’s found a way to make herself happy and surrounds herself with people that make her feel good.

Life isn’t perfect for any of us, we will all face things we have to overcome. Today, Dominique shares her story of hope.

  • I’ve been waiting a long time to have Gerry Hussey on my podcast and I really believe in timing. I think this conversation is so needed this week as we all continue on this rollercoaster of emotions. Also known as The Soul Coach, Gerry talks to me today about love, fear, anxiety. How we can change the narrative in our head, how to connect with what’s really important, how we can grow and learn, how we can win the day by changing what we do in the first 15 minutes of the morning. How we can take the leap we’ve always wanted to, how we can break the toxic addition to our phones and how we can give back to ourselves.

  • This week I speak to Dara Quilty. This is a really important episode about asking for help. And to know that there is always help and support available, no matter what you are going through. I've never touched on the topic of having a sick parent on The Good Glow before but it's something I know so many of my listeners are going through.

My good friend Dara has released an album with his band Apella called 1963 and is giving all of the sales of this album to cancer support.

You can pick up a copy of Dara's album HERE (https://store.dublinvinyl.com/collections/apella-1963) .

  • This week I speak to Shannen Joyce. Also known as The Big C And Me, Shannen has been through so much over the past 7 years. She was diagnosed with Lymphoma when she was 19. She's 26 now and has just finished treatment for her 3rd diagnosis of cancer. Over the last couple of weeks, she thought she had relapsed for a fourth time after finding a lump. Luckily, this lump was not cancerous and she has been given the go ahead to embark on the last leg of this journey. A transplant in Dublin in the next couple of weeks. Shannen knows what she's up against, her strength and positivity is infectious. She loves her family so much, she knows the next few months will be tough but she's determined to do it. Today, she talks about why she hasn't been sharing too much over the last couple of weeks, tells me all about her support network and her plans for the future.

  • Liz Costigan Fleury tells me one amazing story on this week's episode. She speaks about how she felt when she was told she was having twins, why she had to move into the hospital after her waters broke at 23 weeks, how happy she was when her two little boys made it safely into the world and how crazy that journey was for her.

It’s an incredible story of love, hope, the fear of the unknown, the incredible rollercoaster of becoming a mother and balancing it all in between.

  • This week on The Good Glow podcast I speak to Roseanna Ruane. Roseanna and her daughter Saoirse captured the nation's heart when they appeared on The Late Late Toy Show this year.

After being diagnosed with cancer when she was just 7 years old, Saoirse and her family have been on a very difficult journey over the past year. Not only having to endure 9 months of chemotherapy, Saoirse had to have her leg amputated which was a devastating blow for them all.

It's still very raw, but today Roseanna bravely tells me about what they have been through. She shares her story too, things about her life that she's never discussed publicly before. She tells me her husband Ollie was diagnosed with cancer when he was 30 and how they tried for years to conceive their second daughter Farrah Rose who is turning 2 in January.

Caner didn't take Saoirse's love of life and her beautiful personality. Roseanna tells me how much of a boost the Toy Show gave them, why they decided to give so much of the money raised for Saoirse back to the charities that helped them and how after a very painful year that music has found its way back into their lives.

  • This week on The Good Glow podcast I speak to Rosie Connolly. It's been quite the few weeks for Rosie after she found a lump in her breast in October. Rosie's mind went to the worst place as her mum and nana both had breast cancer. After an agonising couple of weeks waiting for the results, she was told that her lump was not cancerous. Rosie used her platform to encourage women to check themselves and today opens up about what that time was like.

Rosie's story is really important. It's important for us to know that not all lumps are cancerous, that we need to know what our normal is when it comes to our bodies and most importantly that you shouldn't be afraid to check yourself. Rosie knows she's incredibly lucky and me too and my thoughts this week are with anyone who is having a tough time or waiting for results this week. Rosie also speaks to me about her amazing fundraiser for Crumlin and Temple Street hospitals and her new brand 4thARQ. she tells me all about the reason behind its name and all the hard work she's put into it this year.

(Always contact your GP if you find a lump in your breast or have any signs of breast cancer)

  • I'm so excited to speak to Michaela O'Shaughnessy this week. You may know her as Life Of A Lady Bear on Instagram. Michaela is from Galway and moved to New York 6 years ago.

A real Irish success story, Michaela has worked for MTV. Teen Vogue, Glamour and now Instagram.

I really wanted to do a podcast this week that reflected how Irish people abroad may be feeling right now, missing home and unsure what lies ahead for Christmas.

It's been a long year for us all, but everyday I have felt so lucky to have my family just around the corner.

I get messages every week from Irish people living abroad who listen to my podcast - in Australia, Dubai, Canada and the US and i know many of them miss home so much.

I wanted to do something this week to let them know that I hope they are not too lonely and manage to get home this festive season.

Michaela has a fascinating life. She lives on the Upper East Side of New York, she speaks about fellow Irish woman Samantha Barry who hired her and was so supportive.

We speak about the madness of this year, how it made her love New York even more and her advice to people who have a dream.

  • Holly Ryan and I have gotten to know each other over the past year. She shared her story with me and feels ready to now share it further.

When she was 18, Holly was attacked as she made her way home. She was so close to her house that her mum woke up to her screams.

Thankfully Holly's mum and dad and a passer by stopped the attack and Holly was taken home. Today she takes me through the impact that night had on her life, how hard it was to share her story and how she healed.

I'm so grateful to Holly for sharing her story today, I know it wasn't easy for her but she wants to use her voice to educate people.

In the last couple of weeks a plan has been published by the government for supporting victim’s journeys through the reporting of sexual offence cases. Read more about it HERE (http://www.justice.ie/en/JELR/Pages/Supporting_a_Victims_Journey)

Claire keeps us laughing through lockdown but also shows such compassion for vulnerable people in our society by reminding us to check in on our neighbours, wear masks and keep a safe distance.

  • Julie Ledwidge has an amazing story of inner strength, the importance of checking in with yourself and a lesson for us all on how looking out for a loved one could their life.

Today, she tells me about being diagnosed with sepsis just days after having her first baby Max. She brought Max home from hospital on Christmas week and was looking forward to a cozy Christmas at home, but days later her mum was alarmed after finding her shaking uncontrollably in her bed. They rushed her back to hospital and she was diagnosed with sepsis. The doctors told them because they acted so fast that they had saved her life. Today Julie speaks to me about her experience. She is warm, so funny and brutally honest about the impact it's had on her. It's so hard to tell your story and put yourself out there but Julie's intention is to make people aware of the signs of sepsis so maybe one day you could save a life.

  • This week on the podcast I have a special announcement to share with my followers.
