Dear brothers and sisters,
Today, we stand in awe of the One who opened His mouth at the Sermon on The Mount —Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the King of Kings, the Almighty in human flesh. When we read, “He opened His mouth and taught them,” we must pause and marvel at who this “He” truly is. This is no ordinary teacher. This is no mere man. This is God Himself, robed in humanity, wielding infinite power, yet choosing to walk among us in humility, love, and sacrifice.

He’s not a taskmaster cracking a whip. He’s the one who fulfills the Law—living it out perfectly. Think about it: He never harbored anger, even when betrayed. He never let lust twist His gaze, even in a world full of temptation. And enemies? He prayed for them from the cross—“Father, forgive them.” Jesus doesn’t just demand radical righteousness; He embodies it. And He invites us to walk with Him, to let His life shape ours.

You are Salt & Light a Call to Influence. Beloved, today I want to remind you of your divine purpose and calling in Christ Jesus. Right after the Beatitudes, Jesus looks at His followers and gives them a bold and undeniable identity:
“You are the salt of the earth… You are the light of the world.” (Matthew 5:13-14)
These words are not suggestions or possibilities; they are declarations of who we are in Him. When Jesus speaks, His words carry life and authority. And today, He is speaking to you and me, calling us to be His representatives in this world.

In John 3 and 4, we see two very different people come face to face with the same Jesus. Nicodemus, a respected teacher of the law, and the Samaritan woman, a social outcast, represent two extremes. Yet Jesus approaches both with the same message: “You must be born again.”
As we reflect on these passages, I want to challenge you to see yourself in these encounters. Are you like Nicodemus, well-versed in religion but still missing the heart of the Gospel? Or are you like the Samaritan woman, longing for something real amidst the brokenness of your life? Either way, Jesus is calling you to new life today. The Gospel Trail is before you—will you take the first step?
