We start with Rod Serling's The Twilight Zone, and all donors get power of the remote and decide where we flip to next, in polls. Only those at the Express Lane tier of 10 dollars get this series in their feed, available on Spotify as well as regular podcast apps that let you add RSS links. Also, while all listeners are able to make suggestion for films to cover, patrons at the Express Lane can suggest entire theme months, as well as make their suggestion MUCH higher priority. Also you get access to our entire archive of past premium episodes as a bonus. and access to an exclusive channel in our discord!
Today's exclusive free episode was from June of 2025, and is our first review of The Twilight Zone 1959 S1.
Episode 1 - Where Is Everybody? A man in a flight suit finds himself the sole occupant of a dead town
Episode 2 - One For The Angels. A mediocre salesman tries to cheat death to gain more time in his life, but learns the hard way someone always pays when death gets cheated.
We put our hearts into this and hope you enjoy this enough to consider supporting the podcast. As a special bonus offer if we pass a certain income threshold, we will DOUBLE our output. That's right, 2 monthly episodes! If you have ideas for other monthly series, we are always taking suggestions under consideration.

David Cronenberg decided to make a movie about video games based on a Philip K Dick Novel.
So it doesnt really grasp the theme all that well. But its got meat and guts and all the stuff you expect in a Cronenberg movie. So there's that. But we did posit if he did try his hand at game crafting in this weeks skit. So there's also that.

Long ago Eric was a co-host on the show and had a list of films that was owed him as suffering for spending a year making reviews with Mike. Today that debt was paid by covering this film. John has better things to do than join in, and you can find out what that is. But also, good news contained within for those who wonder what they would get for supporting the show on patreon, and that's a NEW SERIES! Listen to the show for details

What happens when a character who has carried a franchise for over a decade get their well earned send off and absolutely cannot return in any reasonable way? You could create new characters and settings for the xenomorphs to encounter humans. If you are the writers for this movie you can just forgo reason and say "Ripley is back, give us money"

We served hard time watching Alien 3 and wondering how the script got like this. Luckily Mike did a trivia hunt and now it makes sense and we gave up our grudge against the director of it. Enjoy us breaking this apart and wondering how this prison functioned before Ripley showed up.

Alicia is back and we have a special chest, i mean guest! John's brother Phil is back to help us handle the peak Xenomorph film, and a supremely good sequel, Aliens (1986). This was directed by James Cameron who really showed his work with The Terminator was not a fluke. There's so much to say so we won't say it here, but in the episode!

We lost Alicia to a chest ruining infection but her rib cage is no worse for wear!
In the meantime we have Joshua Clough back on to fill in. Enjoy our coverage of the epic sci-fi horror that really blended 2 genres excellently and launched Sigourney Weavers career, as we honour the season of fertility and begin the month of May-lien!

We needed a break from the existential horrors of Animation April 2025, and settled on a nice feel good classic that we immediately ruined by over analyzing and daring to think a little more than the writers did. We are broken. We will find our way back to regular live action horrors next week as we kick off spring with thoughts of fertility and breeding and motherhood!

This is your final week to get tickets to Anime Ottawa and see our panel as we discuss the history of horror in Japanese culture, anime, manga, and video games! See us live and get free stuff and some laughs!
We ran away from all the robofish and found ourselves running in circles. Luckily we found an old friend, Trevor Ziebarth from Sons of Butcher, and Moonlight Desires. We discuss Uzumaki, another Junji Ito story and the spirals just keep us spinning.

Are you in the Ottawa Area on April 18th? We are at Anime Ottawa giving our first panel so you can see us LIVE as we celebrate Japanese horror from its history, anime, and more!! Please show up and say hi! You might learn something and you may even laugh!
We return to the cartoon classics of horror with another Animation April. we kick off with a master of illustrated intimidation, Junji Ito for the first of a double bill of his works. Tokyo Fish Attack sounds like the dumbest name for a movie, but let him cook, cause he's got memorable characters with diverse and entertaining chemistries, a crazy mad scientist, a circus troupe gone mad, and an explanation for the crisis that leads back to real life Japanese science atrocities in WW2. It's as deep as the ocean that gives up its life forms.
