  • My dear friend, mentor, and fellow Lighthouse in my life, Ashley Abramson is BACK on the pod today. And in this episode, we’re exploring what it *really* means to let go of control, release old stories, and surrender to the unknown, especially through the lens of travel.

After selling nearly everything they own last year, Ashley and her partner Patrick embarked on a season of ultimate nomad life — journeying to Asia and intentionally traveling not to see the world, but to go deeper within it (and within themselves). Their journey has been far from the polished travel highlight reel we’re used to seeing on social media. Instead, it's been a raw, confronting, and ultimately liberating excavation of all the stories we unconsciously attach to with our routines, comforts, foods and even the identities we’ve outgrown.

    💭 We Discuss:

The “Happiness Backpack”— placing your joy in something external (like travel or success) and how that sets you up for disappointment

Following true inspiration: how to tell the difference between ego-led doing vs. Spirit-led being

The discomfort (& gift) of shedding routines, preferences, and comforts to make space for deeper internal peace

How (intentional) travel can speed up our spiritual growth

Practicing radical self-awareness, surrender, and prayer during dark times

Joy as something you are, not something you find

Finding peace in the mundane, everyday and “boring” things

This one’s a REAL one friends! For anyone who’s ever grappled with Sunday scaries, set expectations in things outside of themselves or turns to travel often, you may especially feel seen (or attacked!) 😅

    ✍️ Journal Reflections

Where am I placing my "happiness backpack"? What external person, place, or thing have I given the responsibility of making me feel fulfilled, whole, or worthy?

What routines, comforts, or preferences do I use to feel "in control"? What comes up for me when those things are removed or disrupted?

Am I forcing something—or am I following true inspiration? What does it feel like in my body and mind when I'm operating from ego versus surrendering to spirit or intuition?
