After her mother's passing, Alice was shoehorned into a caretaking position for many years. She became a ghost of herself. But one day, Alice went to Paris. And she fell in love with Gertrude Stein. Together, they had one of the most beautiful love stories. They were together for 40 years. Alice wrote cookbooks and did radio interviews, where she shared the first weed brownie recipe in 1960. Long after her passing, Alice can still be seen wandering the garden and halls of the Sorrento Hotel in Seattle, where her childhood home once stood.
