Robert Alejandro was a visual artist with a singular style and a source of inspiration to many, especially through his battle with cancer, which began in 2016.
Even before his health struggles were bouts of depression. When he spoke to Howie in 2021 in the midst of the pandemic, he seemed to be projecting both improving health and a bright outlook.
His message to those facing similar self-doubt: You don’t have to be anything, you don’t have to accomplish anything, you have every right to be here in this world.
Robert touched many with his generosity and a child-like wonder with which he interacted with the world.
