The Talking Bollox lads. What can I say? Two absolute gems. Calvin and Terence talked to me about growing up in the flats in Dublin's inner city and how they entertained themselves as kids. They were both extremely vulnerable (content warning) and opened up about their experiences with suicide and addiction. They also expanded on their infamous run in with Coolio which I know will make for some seriously funny listening. I belly laughed hard while recording this episode. I hope you enjoy it!
Content Warning: This conversation includes the topics of suicide and addiciton.

Chatting to Roddy Doyle felt like sitting down with an uncle you have known your whole life, but never properly gotten to know. He talked to me about his Christian Brother school days, how easy it is to dodge the public eye and gave his (very lovely) answer to “if laughter wasn’t the best medicine, what would be?”. His latest novel ‘The Women Behind The Door’, which is published by Hachette, is available in all good book shops.
CONTENT WARNING: This episode contains conversation on the theme of corporal punishment.

I say it on the podcast and I'll say it here. These girls keep me young. I adore following Charleen and Ellie's journeys on instagram and so simply had to have them on the podcast. The girls host Hold My Drink podcast and are two of Ireland's most successful social media personalities. They are bright, bubbly and beautiful...the triple threat! But most of all, they are both so refreshingly relatable. I think you will love them.

My guest this week is the one and only, Laura Whitmore. I got to sit down with Laura in The Olympia Theatre during her run of '2.22 A Ghost Story' during the Summer. She is as bubbly and beautiful in person as you might expect. I had never met Laura but it felt like I had. She's that kind of girl. She talked to me about growing up in Bray, how "the show must go on" even in the toughest of times and her the surprising place she first shifted her husband, Iain Stirling. I hope you enjoy!

Ahh, Donners. What a JOY to have Donncha O'Callaghan back on The Laughs of your Life! It has been 5 years (and 1 week) since his first appearance on the podcast. Little did we know in 2019 that we were about to work together - full time - for 3 years. '2fm Breakfast with Doireann, Donncha and Carl' may have come to an end earlier this year, but the bond we all built lives on. Donncha is currently flat out on the promo trail for his new children's book 'Disaster Dad' (available now in all good book shops), so I thought I would use the opportunity to nab him for a catch up. I hope you enjoy!

To me, Dawn O'Porter is the perfect personification of the London girl I always wanted to be. Lol - cringe - but true! She is smart, cool, hilarious, a diehard lover of the tube and a total woman's woman. It was such a joy to chat to her this week. She told me all about life since making the move from LA back to London with her husband (TLOYL alumnus Chris O'Dowd) and kids, her dear friend Caroline Flack, "writing her way out of" money problems and her love for her exceptionally loyal readers.
Her new book Honeybee is published by HarperCollins and is out now!

Hurling legend and proud Galway man Joe Canning is my guest this week. I’m so grateful to Joe for his honesty and vulnerability. Lots of light and shade in this one! He talked to me about manifesting his way to sporting greatness, dealing with the loss of his beloved Mam Josephine and the journey to welcoming his beautiful baby Josie. I really hope you enjoy it. Joe’s book ‘Joe Canning: My Story’ is out now.

We all know and love 'PS. I Love You'... but 'Where Rainbows End' is the one that got me. I read it over Christmas in 2004 and sobbed like I had never sobbed before. Fast forward to 2020 when I asked Cecelia Ahern to be a guest on the podcast. She sent a reply that said something like "thank you, yes...but not yet". Fast forward to October 2024. We made it! Worldwide bestselling author Cecelia talked to me about growing up with a politician Dad, her very relatable spray tan disaster and her blossoming author daughter (called Blossom!). I hope you love it.

Season 10 begins with a bang! It’s TikTok and instagram sensation (that phrase is thrown around but we really mean it) Garron Noone. He talked to me about the sister he first spoke to two weeks ago, the cougars sliding into his DM's & his death row banquet.

Ryan Tubridy was my guest on the Season 1 finale of The Laughs of Your Life. Four years and eight seasons later, I think it’s safe to say that A LOT has changed for Virgin Radio UK’s brand new presenter. Which is why I asked him to come back as my Season 9 finale guest. He talked to me about running out of juice as the host of the Late Late show, his taxi ride to the Oireachtas Hearing, and the joys of being a ghost in London.

You might have seen him on Instagram or his RTÉ TV shows divvying out money advice - Eoin McGee is the financial planner who has been on a mission to teach Irish people How to Be Good With Money and it was great fun to have him as my guest on today's show! He chatted to me about surviving the life-threatening fall that left him with a brain bleed, how he and his brothers honoured his Dad’s memory with a special glass of whiskey, and the first memory of laughter that involved him pissing on his friend’s head!

From his appearances on the Sunday Game before his recent retirement, Pat Spillane became a voice and face of Irish life as familiar as Bosco or Anne Doyle! But he's much more than the crank on the couch as I came to find out. He talked to me about growing up with a pub as a playground, the mountain he had to climb to woo his wife Rosarii, and how he has managed to live his entire life without having to cook, clean, or change a nappy. 😬🤯

From pop stardom, to food blogger, to celebrity chef and food author, Donal Skehan has had a *very* interesting career arc. He and I crossed paths about a year ago in slightly unexpected circumstances, and it was great fun to chat about that. We also chatted about the Barbie doll that came between him and his brother John, a recent dark time in his life, and getting his own back on Dustin the Turkey, amongst many other things. I hope you enjoyed this chat as much as I did.

Not for the first time on The Laughs of Your Life, I come face to face with a politician who I do an impression of! Mary Lou McDonald wasted no time in bringing that up, but she's a good sport, as well as being a fascinating guest, who I've been very keen to have on the podcast for a while. She talked to me about the failed hair glow-up that left her looking like Bosco, her unusual approach to stress relief, and where she thinks her political career could go.

Having had the pleasure of working alongside him on Dancing With The Stars, I knew Arthur Gourounlian had an incredible life story to tell. From having to flee the war in Armenia with his family at the age of 12, to creating a new life and identity for himself through dancing in Europe, to coming out to his mother, and the death threats he received from his own family about his marriage to Brian Dowling. We covered so much…. and AND yes, I asked for it and he delivered… an exclusive Beyoncé story. Chatting to Arthur was pure joy, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. ❤️

Delighted to have legend of Irish rugby Rob Kearney joining me on today’s show. Now it goes without saying, for the past few weeks we’ve had dreams of celebrating an Irish World Cup victory with Rob in studio. Those dreams were shattered but that’s not Rob’s fault, he smashed it with his TV coverage! Go Rob! We chatted about dealing with bullying in national school, surviving two-weeks of quarantine in Australia with his wife, Jess, and, Rob gives us the boldest Last Laugh we’ve ever had...

When I joined TikTok the first person who caught my eye was my guest on today's episode. India Sasha's bio describes her as the ‘CEO of One Hand Humour’ and she is without question one of the brightest and bubbliest stars of Irish TikTok right now. We chatted about growing up in Belfast and how that means seeing riots as ‘normal’ and a chance to get off school early, her family’s unique sense of humour which helped her to deal with being born with one hand, and of course, *that* superviral Rock/Paper/Scissors video.

Well now, it's not every day you have Irish broadcasting royalty in the building. So naturally, I had to down and curtsy to the legend that is my guest on today’s pod - HRH Anne Doyle. We chatted about her ultimate cocktail of choice, why broadcasting to the nation was actually one of the loneliest feelings she has ever experience and she also told me about the incident in a Cuban hotel that showed her why it’s never a good idea to leave a party early!

BIG BROTHER ROYALTY👑 In the same month that BB returns to our TV screens on ITV, what a privilege to chat to the icon that is Kate Lawler. From winning Big Brother in 2002 (21 years ago!!!), to making people laugh with her hilarious update on Instagram, to her openness and honesty around her experience of post natal depression... Kate has always been and will always be a JOY ❤️ I absolutely loved my chat with her and I hope you do, too!

I always say it’s such a pleasure to interview fellow podcasters because they just get it. That's why I’m so delighted that my guests this week are the lads from I’m Grand Mam - PJ Kirby and Kevin Twomey. We chatted about how their friendship was formed via big nights out in London, PJ’s ill-fated Chaka Khan music video, and Kevin remembers how his late dad, became his biggest cheerleader after he came out. We also spoke about their new book, I’m Grand Mamual which is out Thusday, Oct 12th and available in all good bookstores. Hope you enjoy the chats!
