This week Brian and Harrison wiz through a few topics including; what went down at the NC Management XMAS Party, the new coach at the Sydney Swans, what BT has been up to in his time off and their take on Black Friday Sales.Next, the boys are joined by Australian Business Identity, Jeff Browne. For those who don't know the name, Jeff has been involved with the AFL industry within various roles and at across locations for 40 years. A lawyer by trade, he was one of the key people that were involved in the the VFLs transition to a national league, the introduction of the national draft and he was also a pioneer of the systems that allowed player movement within the league. In addition to his work as an advisor to the AFL, he was also the Managing Director of Channel Nine from 2010-2013 and most recently, the Collingwood FC President from 2022-2024. Jeff was diagnosed with a form of cancer called Myeloma a few years ago, fortunately he is now I deep remission, however, after stepping down as Collingwood President, he has decided to take on the role as Chairman of the Myeloma Foundation to help raise awareness and funds for those suffering with the illness. Ahmed's story is one of the more incredible tales of inspiration and resilience that you'll ever encounter, he was born with severely underdeveloped arms and legs (not uncommon in countries torn by chemical warfare). After his birth, he was abandoned at an orphanage in Bagdad, Iraq, and following several years of living in that orphanage, he met his now mother, humanitarian Moria Kelly. Moria brought Ahmed to Australia for major life altering surgery, and not after long, ended up adopting Ahmed. Fast forward, he is now a 4x Paralympic swimmer, collecting a Paralympic Silver Medal in 2020, World Championship Gold and Silver Medals (23' & 19' respectively) and a true beacon of inspiration. What sticks out most about Ahmed is his unwavering positivity and outlook on life, he has never used his disability as a disadvantage and approaches all things with a massive smile. He's a good old fashioned country bloke who loves a beer, loves a chat and would do anything for his mates. Bill's esteemed media career was launched via his great work on Channel Nine's 'The Footy Show' & 'The Sunday Footy Show', along with this, and his extensive tenure on the radio with MMM, he was also a former player with the Geelong Cats (198 games). The chat covers the glory days of the 'The Footy Show', growing up in the country, attending Assumption College Kilmore and some great stories from his playing days with the Cats.
