  • Happy Valentine's Day!

Today's episode I discuss the importance of remaining happy during this Valentine's Day whether or not your have a partner.

Valentine's Day should be a thoughtful reminder of the importance of self-love, self-care, and your true emotional well-being.

Every year it seems that Valentine's Day places these large expectations on one saying that if you don't have a partner, it is a waste of time to celebrate it. well, phooey on that I say!

I began giving "self-love shopping tours" back in 2015 to help women remember that it's O.K. NOT to have a partner. They are still worthy of love. Instead, it should be a reminder that we can put ourselves first and take great care of ourselves since we're always at the hand of taking care of others.

Today I discuss some of the things to think about when looking for your best partner. It's also important to take care of yourself as well with or with one. Self-care isn't selfish, it's imperative to keep you sustainable as you reach your goals.

There's nothing more important than finding happiness within and not thinking of all of the externals that might help bring happiness to your heart. There's a huge misconception that happiness is dependent on our external factors such as being in love, having a fancy car, a big house, a new baby, etc. But true happiness comes from within. It is a choice we must make for it to be true.

Today's episode is a little nudge for you to find joy and fulfillment within yourself. I also cover the importance of celebrating all forms of love including platonic, familial, and self-love.

So grab your chocolate heart, your hot cocoa and join us. I'll see you inside.

Here's to hearts, puppies and rainbows,

    Love Always,

    Dawn-Marie

    XOXO

  • Seasons Greetings My Lovely Drumsters,

I hope you had an amazing holiday season and that 2022 brings you all the love, dreams, and fun goodies life has to offer.

Do you love Christmas songs?  They immediately seem to make the season of the holidays festive and I don’t think Christmas would be the same without them.  They seem to be a genre of music that can make you cry, laugh, or just have fun with the family and friends for some sing-alongs.

I started a collection of Christmas albums after my parents passed because it was one of the traditions we had in our house growing up.  They always made me feel like they were there when I’d listen to them.

You’re probably asking me, “Why are we talking about Christmas tunes?” Well for starters it's because today's guest is the lovely Juliette Valle who has created her first album, a wonderful Christmas album titled “Joyfully”.  Not only is it one of the most beautiful sounding Christmas albums, but there’s also a great cause that will be helped as it sells.  She is donating 100% of the profits to the National Kidney Foundation (a cause near and dear to her heart).  And, this means to the world to me as both my mom and brother were Dialysis patients.

Juliette is here today to discuss her current title holder of The Miss Florida Pageant (a title not to be taken lightly). Her new album, and how she’s making an impact with it, and how she balances it all.

Juliette is not only a young beautiful woman on the outside, but, she seems to have a heart of gold.  She’s a tremendously talented opera singer (and she’s only a junior in college).

She’s been a classically trained vocalist since she was 8 years old.  She holds two state MPA Vocalchampionships for the category of Opera Performance in a Foreign Language.

In 2015 she was admitted to Florida Grand Opera's teen program and became a prodigy for its Young Artists Learning Academy (YALA).

Juliette is currently an undergraduate at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami majoring in Political Science with minors in Broadcast Journalism, Music,...

  • Do you believe in Angels? I do. On Thanksgiving morning I was sitting at the beach doing some editing when along came a few folks strolling along the shoreline. They stopped to have a chat and I overheard one of them say "we kick off our tour tomorrow" so, of course, my ears perked up. I asked them what they did and Olivia said "we have a group called The Celtic Angels" she sings, dances, and plays the Irish drum.
Olivia Bradley and Molly Elizabeth Gibson of the Celtic Angels Christmas show are here today to share their journey on the tour and how you just never know who and how you'll get your next gig.

Olivia is a vocalist, performer, and Irish dancer based out of Atlanta, Georgia.  She has performed with professionals such as Emmet Cahill, Sarah Brightman, John Doyle, and Dave Curley.

Olivia has won the Ambassador Award in 2015 and Senior Scholarship in 2020 from Irish Traditions Atlanta, a regional branch of Comhaltas which is an organization involved in the preservation and promotion of Irish traditional music. Additionally, she serves as a private voice instructor with the First Redeemer Conservatory of Music and Fine Arts in Cumming, Georgia. Olivia is thrilled to be touring with Celtic Angels and feels incredibly blessed for the opportunity.

  • Have you ever wondered what it would be like to make a living by using your voice?  I’m not referring to a singing career but rather a one doing voice-overs.  Audiobook narrators and voice-over work has been around for decades, but, today, there’s an explosion of ways you can make money and earn a living as one.

No longer do you need to hire a studio, an engineer, an editor, etc., you can now do it all and at home.

Today’s guest Ana Clements is Spanish by birth, British by nature, and as a bilingual, she says “she has twice as much to say”. She is the founder of the AUDIOBOOKS CLUB on Club House and helps those who are looking to become Audiobook Narrators, Voice Over Actors, or, anyone who is testing the waters, or a pro and to keep up with the latest and greatest news updates about the field. Ana is here today to show you how you too can begin using your voice to create a new stream of income for yourself.

Ana worked in the corporate world of finance for over 20 years.  She felt like she hit a wall and knew she wanted to make a change.  As a seasoned vocalist, she decided she wanted to make a living using her voice.  So she cut the cord, and, jumped into the world of voice-over work full-time.

Ana spent two years studying sound engineering and vocal production.  She’s studied acting, character voicing, and narration.

Today she works from her home studio in the U.K.  She is a bi-lingual audiobook narrator and voice-over actor.

There are lots to learn, so, grab your earbuds, grab a pen a paper (she’s going to drop some pearls of wisdom here you don’t want to miss so be sure to take good notes) and If you’d like to learn more, be sure to join her over at Club House.

  • Greetings my lovely Drumsters, I am so excited to share some great news. I will be speaking at the Podfest Global starting this week. I will be speaking on Wednesday evening and in honor of such, I am sharing my interview with the founder Chris Krimitsos. He was a guest on our Tampa Jam Virtual Summit last year.

Chris Krimitsos of the Podfest Expo is here to show you how you can quickly get started with podcasting. Talk to people that Chris Krimitsos has spent any amount of time with and you’ll hear descriptions like “changemaker,” “motivator,” “catalyst for change,” and “inspiration.” Whether it’s a major corporation’s CEO or a solopreneur, Chris is passionate about being a difference maker. Chris brings the unique perspective of success from both sides of an event. He understands the challenges of the organizer that needs to move an audience, having himself facilitated over 2,000 events that have brought together business owners, toward economic growth, under the umbrella of Tampa Bay Business Owners, which he founded in 2008. That success regionally was the springboard to launching a national event, Podfest Multimedia Expo, which he grew to over 5,100 attendees in just five years, now breaking Guiness Book of World Records thanks to his ability to communicate key messaging to that community. Under the CK Productions banner, as a filmmaker and producer, Chris successfully birthed The Messengers: A Podcast Documentary, which obtained worldwide distribution and theatrical screenings.

  • Happy New Year my Drumsters! I hope you had a great New Year's Eve.

Aren't you excited about having a new beginning? Last year was a train wreck and we've learned so much from it. Hopefully 2021 will get us back up and running like before the Pandemic and we can reclaim our lives.

The other day was #National Sleep In Day and I thought about how sometimes I get hit with insomnia and it's not so easy to sleep at all for that fact. I did some research and you'll be surprised to hear that most folks don't get a good night sleep. Have you ever dealt with not getting a restful night's sleep? Isn't it a train wreck?

I've been dealing with insomnia for decades now. I am listing below some of the products I refer to in this episode that I use to keep me from staying awake all night long. (Please note that if your purchase any of these products, I will receive a small commission).

    Satin Eye Mask

    Satin Pillow Cases

    Gel Eye Depuffer/Sleep Mask

    Lavendar Pillow Spray

    Egyptian Cotton Sheet Sets

    Feather Bed Topper

    Black Out Curtains

    Sound Therapy

    CMT Oil

Having a good night's sleep is imperative to good health. We need our Z's to keep up with all of the stress we have in our daily lives, stay on our A-Game and give the ones we love the energy they need to feel loved.

So, I've learned that each of the above help me get a good night's sleep. Be sure to check out today's episode and start getting a good night sleep.

    Sweet Dreams,

    Dawn-Marie

  • Hi my lovely Drumsters,

I hope you're having a great last few days of this not-so-nice 2020. The holiday season is always a great time to reflecting, be grateful, and, to think about the think about the things you want for your life, your family, and your business.

Today's episode is about how you can add a bit of "style" to the upcoming year (new year, new you). Do you like fashion? Or, do you think it's just a waste of time, and think people can be a slave to makeup and fashion? Well, I don't believe we should never be a slave to anything, or, anyone for that fact, but, I do believe we should try to look our best. If not for anyone but for ourselves. So that we can feel better.

I believe one of the reasons behind me becoming a fashion stylist was because my love of clothing started very young. I believe it was because I had to wear a uniform to school for 12 years of my life. On the one hand, it made us all feel equal, yet, on the other, it made me feel like I could never be true to myself.

So as times changed, and fashion became even more glamorous, funky, and, cool, I couldn't wait to get out of class, run home and put on something that I could feel like "me" when wearing it.

Have you ever worn your favorite jacket, or your favorite pair of jeans and each time you wear them, it makes you feel a certain way? We should all be able to show our true personalities in how we look each day.

Personal style allows us to think outside the box. It allows us become the "individuals" that our creator has meant for us to be. We shouldn't have to look like a clone of someone else. Now, as musicians, artists, and entrepreneurs, we DEFINITELY need to show our creativity. But, how do you do it you may ask?

Check out today's episode and I will share some ways on how you can do just that.

I'll see you inside. Here's to looking and feeling your best!
