The Miami Guide sat down with Russ Bruce founder and CEO of LiquorSplit, to talk about how their innovative model brings wholesale prices to consumers at an incredibly fast speed in a move to transform the future of e-commerce.

    Interview Notes:

Russ talks about what inspired him to start LiquorSplitWe talked about how they are an tech company with in-house developmentWhat has been a major challenge that LiquorSplit had to overcome?Russ shares how the Tampa crowd compares to MiamiansWhat's the favorite drink is in Florida? We chat about the importance of giving back to the communityShe talks about what she wished she'd had known before she started outWhat we can expect from LiquorSplit in the future

LiquorSplit is a South Florida startup dedicated to bringing the most amazing delivery experience of liquor, beer, wine, and more to your door at great prices. LiquorSplit released an all-new mobile app and opened shop in Tampa.

Since the pandemic, Miamians have followed the national trend of continuing to shop online for food and essentials. However, consumers everywhere are facing surging markups, service and hidden fees that put a heavy toll on convenience.

LiquorSplit presents the only liquor app that allows consumers to buy fast liquor online while saving them time and money.

How? LiquorSplit is both the delivery app and the liquor store; it controls the inventory, the technology and the gig force all together in one superior model. Now, Miamians can order directly from one of the business’ micro-distribution hubs or “distys” –as the company has coined them –and have it delivered to their homes cheaper than going to the liquor store.

By downloading the app, customers will be able to see the same inventory that exists in the distys and at the same price, have it delivered by a trained LiquorSplit employee and pay only a $2.99 flat delivery fee. Being a young local startup, LiquorSplit feels very strongly about giving back to the community. Hence, together with the launch of its new app the company has taken the “Every delivery makes a difference” pledge.

LiquorSplit has a special offer for the Miami Guide listeners and is now offering an alluring discount of 15% OFF with the code: MIAGUIDE at checkout!

  • Today we have two guests on the show. Two Sisters who have transformed the Upper Wynwood's Art Scene.

Danelle & Michele Pino, are the co-founders of the WYN317 Gallery, working with local and world-famous artists and putting a spotlight on Miami’s unique urban landscape.

Do you ever reflect on a time when the walls of Wynwood were seen as a public hindrance and eyesore? Reflecting even further back, the only name recognition of what is now Miami’s cultural, nightlife, and art epicenter was an abandoned warehouse and autobody district only meant to hurry through with locked doors and windows. The full-circle irony is that at some point within the past 20 years, Miami’s pass-thru graffiti-clad neighborhood has emerged as the creative heartbeat of an already colorful city. The pioneering street artists of Wynwood set this neighborhood ablaze in the arts, cultural, and social scenes globally. They literally painted and paved the way for redefining urban landscapes in the United States and beyond.

In 2013, sisters Danelle and Michele Pino acknowledged the cultural significance of these artists, how their work had transformed their beloved neighborhood, and the topographical landscape of their hometown. Daughters of a talented painter, Danelle and Michele were raised with a unique value: a paintbrush to canvas was equally as important as a pen to paper. Their journey initially placed them on alternate paths. Michele followed in her father’s professional footsteps as a criminal and civil attorney and Danelle followed her passion for science to explore the medical field. Even by following their professional calling, their adoration for Miami and growing passion for street art needed to be realized ...

… in July of that year, WYN 317 was born!

In this interview, we talked about what inspired them to start Wyn317 and what Wynwood was like in the beginning. We also talked about the importance of art for Miami and where the industry is going. Something I’m really excited about is NFT art. NFT stands for Non fungible token. It’s basically digital art or Crypto Art connected on the blockchain platform enabling artists to capitalize on their work.

So stay tuned, Danelle & Michele have an inspiring story I can’t wait to share with you.

  • How does someone turn a really big idea into reality and transforms a city? Just ask Friends of The Underline founder and president, Meg Daly.

The Underline is Miami’s newest park below the Metrorail, transforming a 10-mile linear park, biking and jogging trail, and outdoor art gallery.

Eight years ago, after Daly broke an arm and couldn’t drive to her physical therapy appointments, she started taking the train and walking under the tracks. At the time, the path was neglected, dirty, and unwelcoming.

Daly recognized that this area could be a valuable part of the city and started advocating for its transformation, working with partners to raise $120 million (to date) for the construction of a new park inspired in part by the High Line in New York.

We talk about what started this unique project of Friends of The Underline and how to sell a really big idea.
