Have you ever felt like no one truly gets you, especially when you're on a path of personal growth? Itâs a tough spot to be in, and many of us face it.
Imagine riding your motorcycle on a winding, scenic route. The journey is thrilling, filled with twists and turns that require all your focus and skill. To you, itâs pure freedom. But remember when you were learning to ride? It was clunky and awkward, much like embracing the feeling of being misunderstood. To others watching from a distance, it might look dangerous or even reckless. They donât see the joy in the ride, the mastery in navigating each bend, or the peace you find in the journey.
Being misunderstood often stems from others not being able to see the world from your perspective. When you're on a path of personal growth, this can be even more pronounced. Your dreams might seem too big, your goals too unconventional, and your ways of expressing yourself too different. Itâs easy to feel isolated and judged, but there's immense value in embracing this misunderstanding.
Embracing being misunderstood is about prioritizing authenticity over acceptance. The journey of personal growth requires you to dig into your true self, stripping away the layers of societal expectations and fears of judgment. When you focus on being authentic, you allow yourself to grow in ways that might not always be understood by others, but are true to who you are.
Today, weâre talking about what it means to feel misunderstood, especially when youâre evolving and growing. Weâll explore why this happens, how to handle it, and most importantly, how to stay true to yourself even when others donât see the road youâre on.

In this episode of The Motovation Podcast, we dive into the often detrimental habit of comparison. Whether weâre scrolling through social media or interacting with peers, itâs easy to fall into the trap of comparing what we haveâor donât haveâwith others. This comparison game isnât just limited to material possessions; we also measure ourselves against those we perceive as superior in various aspects of life, from career success to personal achievements.
But it doesn't stop there. Sometimes, we catch ourselves comparing in the opposite direction, thinking, "At least Iâm doing better than so-and-so." This mindset, though seemingly positive, can also be harmful. It fosters a sense of superiority that is just as damaging as feelings of inferiority. Both types of comparisons can take a toll on our self-esteem and mental well-being, leading to feelings of inadequacy, discontent, and even arrogance.
We explore how constantly measuring ourselves against othersâwhether we think weâre better or worseâcan derail our personal growth and happiness. Imagine each personâs life journey as a unique motorcycle ride. Comparing your ride to someone elseâs is like trying to race a cruiser against a sportbike in a terrain that suits neither. Each motorcycle is designed for different paths and speeds, just as each person is tailored for their own journey. Understanding and appreciating our unique paths can help us steer clear of the pitfalls of comparison and keep our focus on our own ride.
Join us as we discuss strategies to break free from the comparison trap, celebrate our individual journeys, and fuel our self-worth. Letâs rev up our engines and ride confidently on our own paths, finding joy and fulfillment along the way.

Just like a motorcycle, our ego can be both a powerful tool and a tricky beast to handle. It can propel us forward with confidence, or it can spin us out of control if we don't keep it in check. The ego is essentially a false sense of self, created by the mind, and is responsible for much of the unhappiness and suffering in the world. It is the voice in our head that constantly narrates our life, creating stories of separation, fear, and inadequacy. It thrives on identification with thoughts and external circumstances, leading us away from our true essence and into a cycle of discontent.
In this episode, we're diving deep into the role the ego plays in our lives, how it influences our decisions, and what we can do to master it rather than be mastered by it.
By observing our ego, recognizing its influence, and finding the balance between self-assurance and humility, we can navigate lifeâs journey with greater awareness and peace.

Just like many riders don't fully understand the mechanics of their bikes or take the time to get in tune with them, people often do the same with their bodies when it comes to what brings pleasure or deeper intimacy.
In this episode, we sit down with fellow rider Kristina Sheridan, owner of Coastal Clarity Discomfort Spa in Nova Scotia. Kristina is here to help us explore the world of BDSM â that's Bondage, Discipline, Dominance, Submission, Sadism, and Masochism. It's a topic that many see as taboo, but it really shouldn't be. We're using this interview to ask the questions you may have been afraid to or never thought to ask.
Our nervous system can imprint experiences based on our first sexual encounters. Often, those first experiences aren't great and can even be negative or traumatic, leading to dissatisfaction or shame that prevents further exploration. BDSM can be a powerful tool for personal growth by providing a way to release and exchange energy, foster deeper connections, and shed shame to strive toward sexual freedom. By exploring boundaries and trust within a safe and consensual environment, individuals can experience a profound sense of empowerment and self-discovery.
Kinks and desires shouldn't be shamed; they should be explored and celebrated. Kristina shares her journey of bringing the world's first discomfort spa to life, what to expect in the dungeon, and her reasons for wanting to do this work. She offers insights into how BDSM can be used therapeutically to help people connect with their true selves.
