On today's episode, I read a passage of my book on the topic of restoring beauty. In this chapter, I share how I received beauty through the ashes of dealing with my difficult healing journey. Beauty starts with your heart and the inner issues of your heart. Allowing God to expose & uproot the pain, the turmoil, the ugly and through His shed blood, He has the power to give you beauty for ashes.
I was dealing with with self hate, bitterness and ugliness, as a result of the abuse towards me. It was only when I asked Him for help to heal that I began to see the beauty within me.If you enjoyed this episode, please like, subscribe and share it with a friend or loved one. On today's episode, I read a passage of my book on the topic of forgiveness. The process of forgiving my abuser, and the people in my life that didn't support me through that time of abuse, was so difficult, but it was necessary for my healing journey. Forgiveness can be so tough, and it can only truly come from your heart when you are ready to forgive. You cannot force yourself to heal when you aren't ready. I hope that by sharing my experience with forgiveness, it resonates and inspires you to begin to forgive. If you enjoyed this episode, please like, subscribe and share it with a friend or loved one. Today we are talking about repentance. In chapter 4 of my book "The Reconstructed Woman: Blueprints for a Beautiful Life" I discuss how it was only through confessing my own sins, that I was able to process the sins that had been done to me.
Repentance brings refreshment, revitalization and rejuvenation. When I broke down at 27 I was so broken, and within 3 days, I was so alive and so free. When we hurt our loved ones, or do something wrong, once we admit it or take accountability, we are brought closer to them. We are brought back to them, and this the same with God. Repentance is turning back towards God, confessing your sins, acknowledging that you are wrong, and you will refresh your spirit and transformation will begin.

Today I am talking to you about the fear that impacts trauma and abuse survivors. In chapter 2 of my book, "The Reconstructed Woman: Blueprints for a Beautiful Life" I share my own personal experience with fear, which manifested itself as anxiety when I was pregnant with my first child. When we are harmed, hurt, or grow up in difficult environments, fear becomes a part of our body, and our nervous system. Fear needs to be released through us in order to experience peace in the mind, body and spirit. Going through a traumatic event later in life can trigger trauma that has occurred previously, and we need to have a toolkit to help us deal with this fear.
The Bible teaches us these tools, and I share them with you today.

Today we are kicking off with my new summer series of the podcast where in each episode I will be talking through a chapter of my book "The Reconstructed Woman: Blueprints for a Beautiful Life".Today I am talking about denial, and my experience with it. I was in denial about sexual abuse trauma I had gone through. I was getting triggered by people trying to help me because I wasn't ready to face the pain and confront my trauma.
Have you ever felt an uneasy emotion resurfacing when confronted with a disturbing memory, and your initial reaction is to push that feeling back down? You are not alone. Denial is a defence mechanism when we are in crisis mode, but we do need to face the trauma or it will manifest in unhealthy ways.
Christ has helped me find the tools to be able to escape the denial, and confront my past. In this episode, I explain how I was able to do that and I hope it helps you as you navigate through life's challenges.
