  • Last year I got to meet Manu San Felix - Oceanographer and videographer for National Geographic.

Manu campaigns heavily for the one thing that may just save our climate in the Balearics - The Posidonia.

Our huge acres of sea grass provide a carbon sink which sucks the nasties out of our atmosphere and absorb and hold them.

Protecting them is of paramount importance as you heard in our EP with ambient musician @coco_francavilla. They are the answer to so many issues we face as an island that depends heavily on tourism and Manu runs @vellmari_formentera and every year they replant the beds and try to restore them where possible.

In this weeks episode we talk about that process, why we have to educate people to respect the ancient sea beds that are unique to ours seas and we hear much of his incredible storytelling on expeditions that he has been on for National Geographic as an ambassador for @natgeopristineseas and how he became a marine biologist and fell in love with our islands.

  • How do you feel about your voice?
Are you able to speak up and be heard in groups?
Do you freak out if you have a work presentation or at Uni ?
Have you had to go on stage and perform a talk, a song or some kind of performance that came into your life?
Do you hate the sound of your voice when you listen back?

I have come to understand this is due to cognitive dissonance. The way we hear our voice back is different to how it is when we speak to others.

Our voice travels in a different way when we hear it back. But communication is a huge gift that we are able to express through our one and only human instrument.

And? As it happens, communicating well, is a massive skill.

It is not something we a gifted when we form the words on our lips.

It tales time, patience and a LOT of practice.

If this is something you wish to work on, in todays Episode we hear from those who came on the event last year over three days and their letters they wrote to their voice.

We also hear from our keynote speaker, Sister Bliss of faithless.

In two weeks time she joins us on edition NO.2 of the Women´s Voice Activation here in Ibiza. Details here: VOICE RETREAT 14 AND 15TH OCTOBER IN IBIZA

  • In todays episode we meet Colombian Lithuanian Jurgis Didžiulis who as you are about to find out is more than a musician.

He is a professional speaker and an inspirational educator with degrees in Political Science and Business Administration so he is good at talking, being able to read the crowd and sharing his craft which he says he has honed down to one word, being a troubadour.

But, he is way more than just one word and His unique ability to present ideas and shift perspectives through sonic illustration and musical co-creation activates, elevates and educates in ways that words alone cannot.

So we will end it here, but suffice to say his third summer in ibiza has been “eventful” and he is loving being the man to fly the flag of regenerative music for Juntos Farm and to create what he feels is an inclusive community sound and he tells us all
About the EP he is working on for a new release.
