On this week’s podcast, Dan and Kris board the Cartoon Express for a very strange episode of Mortal Kombat: Guardian of the Realms. This cartoon was surprisingly watchable in comparison to a handful of other things they’ve watched, but was it good enough to take the top spot for the year? Why the heck is Ron Perlman voicing Stryker? Why the heck is Stryker in this show in the first place? Let’s find out! Then, in Week Old News, Limited Run Games gets itself in a whole heap of trouble. On this week’s podcast, Kris was feeling a bit under the weather, so they delayed talking about Viewtiful Joe in favor of doing something easier. Except that ranking every Nintendo franchise that’s not on Switch is WAY HARDER than talking about Viewtiful Joe! So yeah, buckle up for that marathon of nonsense.

Then, in Week Old News, Nintendo’s messaging around the Switch 2 continues to cost them every shred of good will they’ve built up over the past decade, Farming Simulator officially comes to Sega Genesis, Doom gets an absurd collectors edition, and more! On this week’s podcast, Dan and Kris dissect the two Nintendo Directs we just had. First, the super weird Nintendo Switch Direct, featuring some fantastic surprises like Rhythm Heaven and Marvel Invasion, among others. It was an odd choice to drop this Direct so close to the Switch 2 one, but it was a pleasant surprise. Then, the big one. The Switch 2 Direct. They break down everything they learned from the Direct itself and all the various haphazard announcements surrounding it, including its ill-advised pricing structure, the tech specs, and of course, the games! What did they make of Donkey Kong Bananza? How awesome does Mario Kart World look? Why does Metroid Prime 4 look so much better on Switch 2? Why does that new From Software game look like hot garbage? Find out! Plus, Dan continues to get better, especially following his super posh vacation, and Kris got to see the Minecraft movie, which was way more fun than he expected it to be. Enjoy!

Also, the latest Marvel casting news, and oh yeah, one heck of a 10 20 30 40! This month marked the release of the PSP AND the original God of War for PS2. There were some other killer releases, too, but Sony once again dominated the charts. On this week’s podcast, Dan and Kris bring you possibly the shortest numbered episode of the podcast ever. Dan had his surgery a few days ago, and he just isn’t up to doing all that much talking. But the scheduled 10 20 30 40 was too chock full of PlayStation to NOT have Dan talk about it, so they just did a quick recap of their weeks, and called it a night. Hopefully service will return to normal by next week.

In Week Old News, Switch games prove to be more fireproof than anyone expected, more industry layoffs make everyone sad, but then Devolver Digital released a trailer for a game called Shotgun Cop Man, and smiles returned.
