Episode 33 is around! I got to sit down with Eirik «Billy Messiah» Nordheim this weekend. Just two buddies and some beers led to a 3 hour + conversation about Billy’s journey. From the early beginnings of punk rock, through Mayhem and on. Take the time and dive into this talk about the life of the Messiah! Enjoy! Merch: morkisebakke.no/shop

Episode 32! This time I got to sit down with my friend, Sina Winter, the man behind the Iranian Black Metal band From The Vastland. Sina is also something of a moviestar, being a huge part of the «Blackhearts» documentary. Join us as he tells the fascinating story about his life, from being an enemy of the state of Iran to being able to live in Norway, all in the name of Black Metal. Enjoy! Merch: morkisebakke.no/shop

Number 31 is around! And this has to be the most special one to date! As I have been told that Snorre Ruch never has done an in depth or long form interview before. That makes this episode and my podcast earth-shattering and ground-breaking! Haha, overkill? I think not! It was a great experience to visit Snorre, to listen to unreleased gems of music and to get to know this important character and innovator of Black Metal and art in itself. Join Snorre Ruch, Marius Vold, Harald Eilertsen and myself on the journey through the history of THORNS! For the FIRST time EVER! Merch: morkisebakke.no/shop

Episode 30! This time I decided to do something new. I joined Marius Vold and Harald Eilertsen (both original Thorns members) as we journeyed far and beyond to visit the one and only Snorre Ruch (Thorns), this last weekend. When I say far and beyond, I mean it too. About 20 hours total by car during that weekend. So, I figured, what the hell.. let’s try to do a “on the road” episode, to fill the time. Join us as we talk randomly whilst traveling the dark backroads of Norway. Merch: morkisebakke.no/shop

Episode 29 is around! I had the pleasure of getting to know the Norwegian Psychedelic Black Metal artist Woe J. Reaper of FURZE, this week. He reached out to me in the weeks prior, and finally we got around to it. A truly special artist in his own right, and with a crazy but tragic story to tell. Interesting lesson in the history of FURZE, told by the man himself! Enjoy! Merch: morskisebakke.no/shop

Episode 28 is around! Part 2 and the closing chapter of the story of Steinar «Sverd» Johnsen.. for now, anyways. Sverd was and is part of the very beginnings of Norwegian Black Metal in every way. You know him best as original member of Mortem and Arcturus. Keyboard virtuoso and talented musician. And ofcourse a great guy. Funfact: Sverd’s recorded chats with yours truly happens to be the first ever for him! So that’s a real treat. We had another bash with his home brewed beer and the mic’s was on! It’s been a long time in hibernation, but then, now, it’s back! The podcast returns! Episode 27! As I have mentioned before, I really do enjoy doing these episodes. So, as long as it’s still fun, I’ll keep going. However, it will be at random times as schedules and opportunities allows it to happen. This last weekend I visited Steinar “Sverd” Johnsen (Arcturus and Mortem) at his private rehearsal room/studio, where we got to chat about his journey through music. Sverd was part of the early Oslo scene and created alot of the medieval gear seen in early BM photos. The conversation was crashed however when it turned into a good old party. So, this will be a two parter! I give you part one (the early years) of the story of Sverd! Enjoy! Merch: morkisebakke.no/shop

Episode nr 26 is around! The second and last part of my talk with Apollyon (Ole Jørgen Moe) of Aura Noir, Immortal and more. Since our chat went on for 4 plus hours, I had to make a two part thing. All great unfiltered stuff. Merch: morkisebakke.no/shop

Episode 25 came around! I was honored to have the great Apollyon (Ole Jørgen Moe) stop by for a party and a chat. And what a chat! Four hours plus into the mic’s. We had a good time with beers and Fernet Branca, which obviously made the time go by unnoticed. I will not rob you for anything, so I’ve decided to make this a two-part thing. This is filled with interesting stuff and stories! Part one is presented to you right now! Enjoy! Merch: morkisebakke.no/shop

Episode 24 is here! When visiting Bergen a few weeks ago, I primarily went there for one purpose; to get inked by the lovely Jannicke Wiese-Hansen. Not only is she a extremely talented tattoo-artist, but she did some of the most memorable cover arts in Black Metal history. Burzum’s debut and “Det Som En Gang Var” and Satyricon’s “Dark Medieval Times” to name a few. She also did the art for my own third album, “Eremittens Dal”, which see inked to my arm that weekend in Bergen. She runs her own tattoo studio, Nidhogg, at the famous Bergen docks. We had a really nice sit-down with Prosecco and microphones after the tattoo-session, enjoy! Merch: morkisebakke.com/shop

2021 has come around. What will it bring? That’s the biggest question. I decide to take it one day at the time, anyway. A couple of things is for sure; The podcast is still going, and that the new and fifth Mork album “Katedralen” is closing in on you all. The new and first single “Arv” of that album is out Friday 15th of January.
This last weekend I spent in Bergen. Great times. Got inked as well as got to do this podcast, you are about to hear. The guest this week need no introduction. I got to spent alot of time and got to know «The most evil man of Norway», Kristian «Gaahl» Espedal. Gaahls Wyrd, Gorgoroth, Wardruna, Trelldom, God Seed and more. This is probably the most candid and deepest dive into this fascinating man. Enjoy......... Satan.

22 Acacia Avenue, what a killer track. And it’s Episode 22 of the Pod as well! Great weekend indeed. Been riding the wave of the recent “Pesta” EP and it’s release, as well as having Wacken Open Air announcing Mork for the 2021 festival. On top if this I got to have my second episode with the one and only Silenoz of Dimmu Borgir fame. This time though, we focus on his side project, the death metal entity of Insidious Disease. The new and second album recently dropped and thats a good time to dig into the dirt of that side of Silenoz’s life. Join us and enjoy! Merch: morkisebakke.no

Here we are, back again. Episode 21.. so, legal in the U.S, I suppose. Funny, I know. I am proud to announce that Mork's new EP «Pesta» now is out via the mighty Peaceville Records, streaming and limited vinyl only. Very happy with the outcome of the EP as it fits well in these pandemic times. Check it out, if you care to spread the plague instead of covid. This week's episode came to be rather spontaneously as I was contacted by this artists management only days beforehand. That’s a cool thing as I got to get to know Erlend Hjelvik and got an episode at the same time, win win. Erlend is probably most known from his time in the Norwegian band Kvelertak, who shot up in the world as a rocket a few years back. He is now back with his new solo band, Hjelvik. Great guy and a cool chat. Tune in and get to know the man along with me!

Episode 20! Wow. From nothing, to this. You, the number of listeners has grown alot as well. Thanks alot. As mentioned in the intro talk, Mork’s “Pesta” was recently announced! The four-track EP will be out on Peaceville Records on both vinyl and digital, on November 27th. Pick up a hand-numbered and signed copy over at Mork’s official webshop. The Black Plague is back and will spread wider than this covid-thing. Anyways. This episode is a portrait on my buddy Stu Manx. Stu has been in the Norwegian rock band Gluecifer and is currently in the black metal band Order. He also hosts the Mossfest festival in Moss, Norway. Great guy. Enjoy! Merch: morkisebakke.no

Number 19 has come around! Almost 20! I say, not too shabby. This week I visited mr. Jan Erik Romøren, better known as Nag of Tsjuder. What can I say, Fenriz is probably the most well known and respected spearhead of Black Metal or even Metal ever. What I really like about this man, is that he is 100% true to himself, his values, tastes and musical barometer. An inspirational figure for sure. I am lucky to have this man in my circle, and to be able to lure him into gabbing into my microphone recently.
Packed with interesting stuff; Death metal years, black metal years, later crust punk metal years, future Darkthrone, Darkthrone live... to mention some. And have you ever wondered about a little project called, Eibon with Phil Anselmo and Satyr? Well I have, and made him explain.
Enjoy our recent hang! UGH! Merch: morkisebakke.no

I am back. It’s been over a month since the last episode. But, here it is. I am joined by the one and only Yusaf Parvez, aka Vicotnik (Dødheimsgard, Dold Vorde Ens Navn and Ved Buens Ende). Great inside look at the man's early years going into black metal and beyond. Fenriz, Helvete and Dimmu Borgir are just some of the interesting stories and facts that comes up. I am back. Episode number 16, people. I have more or less given up on having a new episode every single week. It’s a passion project, as I have mentioned before. However, during my recent road trip of Norway, I visited my friend Seidemann (1349, Svart Lotus, Morten and more). I was a good boy and brought my recording equipment with me, just in case. And behold, we ended up with a new episode! Tor “Seidemann” Stavenes is a talented bassist and musician and has contributed to many bands through the years. Enjoy! Merch: morkisebakke.no

Thomas Eriksen is the creator of the Norwegian Black Metal band Mork.
And I am back. This week the podcast is a «fjortis», as some may say in Norwegian. Episode number 14, that is. This time around I am joined by a calm and fine gentleman, who happens to be the bass-player of Kampfar. He has alot of milage in the Norwegian metal history, and we talk about it all here. I present to you, mr Jon Bakker. Enjoy! Merch: morkisebakke.no
