A big hello, and a warm welcome to the new season of The Wedding Business Podcast! I am beyond excited to be back and I am so looking forward to chatting about all things business and the wedding industry once again.
We’re kicking off this 5th season by talking about the many hangover weddings that are still in play, climbing Kilimanjaro and even taking enquiries for 2026-2027 (crazy... right?). Alongside this, we also touch on the current state of the wedding industry in its busiest months and the normality that we hope is to come from the year 2023.
But first, I would like to take a moment to really reflect on the summer so far. It's August, so a big pat on the back is due for reaching this milestone! But what I want to ask you, is what have you learnt this year? And what are you taking into the next epic season? Acknowledge these highs, and perhaps lows and use them to grow and create next year's goals.

I can barely believe it but here we are at the end of Season 4 of The Wedding Business podcast - thank you to everyone for listening and sharing this season! We have such a wealth of talent in the club and I’m eternally proud of our members and it's been a real privilege to share a platform with them.
Today I wanted to talk about the opportunity that 2022 presents to us and take a moment to reflect, because after 2 terrible years, weddings are back, and they are booming.
There’s never been a better time to be talking confidently about your service and letting your couples know why they need you because 2022 is set to be the biggest year we’ve seen for weddings in the last 40 years, and I want you to grab that.
I want you all to be ready for the opportunities that are coming.
Now is the time to get clear on what brings you joy in your business, where you want to go, and to start stepping out of your comfort zone.
So, to draw a close to this season I want to leave you with this little pep talk that you can come back to anytime you need it.

Today I’m joined by the wonderful, joyful, Deborah from Bamboo Dreams Photography. Despite being all the way in Florida, Deborah is a very active and present member of The Wedding Business Club.
Having grown up around passionate photographers Deborah’s love for photography stayed with her through school and into adulthood, and now after 25 years working as a Litigation Attorney, she is transitioning to be a full-time Wedding Photographer.
In this episode, Deborah and I discuss the ways in which having a prior career helps you launch a business as well as some of the challenges of reinventing yourself when starting out in a second career.
