We started our month of mods with a wonderful Governor Overhaul mod. This mod completely reworks the governors by adding 12 governors, each specializing in a specific mechanic from Civ 6 (Production, Spies, Food, Science, etc.).

We had an entire month of community games, and we came up with a fun way to have more control on the competitiveness of the game. After the first week, we saw a runaway victory and had to rethink how we can ensure everyone has fun. We introduced a "Game Master" that spectates the game, asks trivia questions, and creates rewards to the winner of the trivia.

One of the redemptions for TheCivGive2022 was to host a 3v1 against Civilization 6 legend, Peppermint_Butler. This time, TheCivShow crew did not go easy on him. Early in the game, Zo declares war on PB and murdered him. We play a second game, and Zo spawns beside PB again, and murders him again! How did he do it?

This March, we'll be playing through all the old Civilization games that are available on steam. Civilization 5 was another big turning point in the series that introduced HEXAGONS! They also introduced social policies into governments allowing players to mix and match how they pleased, and they took away the infamous unit stack. A lot of people still play Civilization 5 today and claim it to be better than Civilization 6 (for the record, we disagree and will always prefer the newest edition of Civilization).

New month, new leaders from the Leader Pass. This month introduces the "Great Builders Pack" that has nothing to do with the actual "Builder" unit, but instead introduces 3 leaders that "Build" empires. Sejong of Korea, Ludwig II of Germany, and Theodora of Byzantium.

This March, we'll be playing through all the old Civilization games that are available on steam. Civilization 4 was a big turning point in the series that properly integrated multiplayer. It was nominated as PC Gamer US's "Best Multiplayer Game 2005" and overall game of the year, but lost in these categories to Battlefield 2. IGN chose it as the PC Game of the Year of 2005 over competing titles such as F.E.A.R. and Guild Wars, the Best Strategy Game (both for PC and overall) and as the Best Online Game of 2005 for PC. In 2006, IGN ranked it first place on The Editor's Top 10 list and second place on the Top 25 PC Games of All Time list.

This March, we'll be playing through all the old Civilization games that are available on steam. The oldest game available is Civilization 3. There are a lot of mechanics in this game that have carried over to other Civilization games, but there are also some not so good mechanics that didn't make it to Civilization 4. It's a blast from the past, and definitely something to check out if you're a passionate Civilization fan.

Tokugawa has to be the most talked about leader since the new Leader Pass released a couple months ago. We never realized how incredible domestic trade routes can really be when you pair Magnus promotions with government plaza's in the capital. We finally get to play the new leaders from the Great Commanders pack, and we agree that this pack added 3 very good leaders to Civ 6.

Invictus Game Station, a LAN centre in Toronto that will be hosting TheCivGive2022. They will be providing 14 computers that we can use for our event. They will be allowing our players to connect remotely and we'll be able to create a local network game to ensure fast and reliable connections.
We have also partnered with Parsec, an application that allows remote access from computer to computer. Our players will be connecting to the LAN centre via Parsec to play on the local network.

Are you excited for TheCivGive2022?! We are, and we have done extensive testing and experimenting on how we can be confident that a full game will happen this year. We have partnered with two companies to help put on the game this year.
Invictus Game Station, a LAN centre in Toronto that will be hosting TheCivGive2022. They will be providing 14 computers that we can use for our event. They will be allowing our players to connect remotely and we'll be able to create a local network game to ensure fast and reliable connections.
We have also partnered with Parsec, an application that allows remote access from computer to computer. Our players will be connecting to the LAN centre via Parsec to play on the local network.

The leader pass has not started in the best ways for Firaxis and Civilization. A lot of users have been reporting that the game has reset to the first version of the game with no expansions or any DLC. The devs are actively fixing the issue and hopefully it gets resolved in the next couple of days.
We were introduced to 4 new leaders, Julius Caesar, Abraham Lincoln, Mbande Nzinga, and Sultan Saladin. We go over all the new abilities for the leaders and talk about potential strategies to best use these new leaders.
