Energy. Rock and Roll. That sums up this episode in four words. In this episode, Andy and Mackenzie re-visit 2017 twice as they talk about separate performances of both Black Pistol Fire and The Schizophonics in Seattle that year. They both really want you to go see both bands, and they're both really mad that their friends aren't helping to sell out every show of these bands. Hear them talk all about it and try to convince you why in this latest episode!

Andy and Mackenzie mention in this episode that they believe that Chris Cornell was perhaps the best rock male vocalist of his generation. The guys were incredibly lucky to not only experience seeing Cornell solo at the prestigious Benaroya Hall in Seattle in 2015, but of course they had good seats. Listen along as they recount this performance with energetic and at time emotional stories, plus listen to audio from the show at arguably the best sounding room in all of Seattle. Seriously, you'll feel like you're in the room if you listen to these clips and close your eyes.....
They'll also talk a bit about other Cornell performances and also his untimely passing, how that effected them, and where they were the day they heard the news.

If you've been listening to this podcast for a while you might be wondering how we even get in the door for some of these very prestigious events; especially the ones that are ultra sold out. Andy and Mackenzie get asked by friends all the time to help them get into shows and to share some of their methods on how to do so.
Honestly, it's kind of like a form of art; a challenge. So we decided to dedicate an entire episode to sharing our tips, tricks and knowledge on the art of ticket buying! How to get tickets before everyone else, how to find presale passwords, how to protect yourself from scammers and much more! We ended up talking about this so much that we decided to break this into multiple episodes so here is Part 1.

He was and is a Beatle. When a Beatle comes to town, you go to the show. Andy and Mackenzie saw Paul McCartney together on April 17, 2016 at Key Arena in Seattle, WA. Hear their tales about almost not even getting into the show, yet somehow ending up closer to the stage than nearly everyone else. Again. They discuss all of this and also include some live audio from the show!

Listen to Part 2 of 2 from the guys experiencing Pearl Jam in 2018 at The Home Shows (Part 1 is here or wherever you get your podcasts). As usual they were crammed up towards the front like sardines and having unforgettable experiences. Somehow after all of that exhaustion, Mackenzie went to the Sub Pop 30th anniversary party the next day to see bands like Mudhoney and METZ. Then the two met up again two days later to see Jack White to cap off the most righteous week of rock and roll. Listen along for the commentary and rare live audio clips from the shows!

In the Summer of 2018, Pearl Jam played two nights at Safeco Field in Seattle, for the "Home Shows." These shows were fundraisers for the homeless situation in Seattle. Andy and Mackenzie were of course at both shows, and together about 20 rows back on the floor for one of the nights; and Mackenzie crept even closer the for the next show. Listen along as they talk about the strategizing it takes to get tickets and get positioned so close to the stage and what all comes with that, plus give a review of the shows themselves. Also included are rare audio clips from these performances.
This is a two-part series with Part 2 on the way.

This episode focuses on two shows that happened at Seattle's iconic music venue: The Crocodile. First, the guys review seeing Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine/Audioslave) solo in 2018, but then actually end up on stage with him, singing a Rage song with him and more. Yes, you read that correctly. ON STAGE. How in the world did they pull this one off? Listen along to find out and listen to hear them singing!
Part two is about the young but unfortunately now defunct garage rock band The Strypes. A band once championed by the great Elton John, they did a short U.S. run in 2014. Andy was up on it and insisted everyone go to see them, which he and Mackenzie did. Hear their take on it here as Andy shares some great stories of his interactions with the band and his family.

Black Sabbath went out on a final tour in 2016 so of course Andy and Mackenzie had to go see that one. While the show was entertaining, some of the things that happened in the stands were a bit chaotic. So much so that telling this story somehow morphed into a Jerry Springer story you won't believe and that will have you laughing and you won't want to miss!

The first review from this episode is seeing Charles Bradley in Seattle in 2016. Re-live their emotional stories of what a genuine artist that Bradley was. Then they recall seeing The Black Crowes' Robinson Brothers as a duo in a tiny club in Portland, just before the pandemic happened. That show was nearly impossible to get into, but of course Andy and Mackenzie got in! You'll also hear real audio from both shows!
