Welcome back! Here's a little teaser to let you know we're back.
Also I think I don't love the intro music so I might change it up.
And if you're looking for SideCar Podcast with Jen Coleslaw you need to find that on its own feed now! It won't be here anymore!

Oh hey are you still listening to SideCar over here? You really really need to listen to it at SideCar Podcast with Jen Coleslaw. You're keeping me from uploading Two Chocolate Cakes Episodes!
Let me know if it is not on your podcast player--btw, Stitcher is no longer carrying any podcasts so I can't help you there.

And so we come to the end of Season 1 of Two Chocolate Cakes, and it is with one of the most bland meals out of the entire series, but still a meal I love more than anything--it is a comfort meal that I eat even now, many years later. It is also one of the only kinds of meat I can manage to cook myself! Well, besides hotdogs.
I hope you have enjoyed this first season of Two Chocolate Cakes and I am excited to bring you Season Two before the end of the summer!
The SideCar podcast will continue weekly on the weekends and if you want to stay up to date, get behind the scenes special downloads and recipes, swag and more, you'll want to join the Patreon--there are 4 levels of support, from $3/month to $25/month with varying levels of goodies.
You can also support me periodically if you like by buying me a ko-fi, or by sending me a supportive message via twitter at @twochoccakes or @jencoleslaw

a brief history of some of my favorite cats, and their favorite drug of choice.
Spoiler alert: like many of the stories in this series, it is sad.

After my parents' divorce, Kay took over hosting Christmas. She made it special after Mom swore never to celebrate holidays again, even putting a tiny 2 food christmas tree in the room I stayed in.
A reminder that you can support the podcast by joining the Patreon at one of the 4 levels.
and that the recipes for this and the other episodes can be found at Two Chocolate Cakes website.
Finally, there are just a few more episodes (2!) in this season. Then we'll just have SideCar episodes while I put together Season 2 of Two Chocolate Cakes. I think you'll be pleased with the stories and the recipes.

There was something about Portland that gave me courage. I don't know if it was the weather, or the fact that I had a job where I was respected, or if it was all that incredible beer (and let me tell you, the beer was OUTSTANDING) or if it was the rain, but it was something. I only wish that I had banked some of that courage for the future.

How to meet new neighbors in a new city!
Step one: Move across the country where you know one person
Step two: have an accident
Step three: figure out who in the building full of strangers can help (spoiler alert--it is the person dancing to Phantom of the Opera)

What was the first thing you learned to make when you left home? Do you remember? Did you have some kind of crazy college dorm room food hack? I did and IT WAS DELICIOUS! PS. You can actually hear Peat yowling on this one. I just did not have it in me to re-record. So you get two sad cat meows as a gift with purchase. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/twochocolatecakes/support

In that weird in-between time of high school and college summer jobs, in the days before internships and real jobs, I worked at the most magical summer resort. If you remember the movie Dirty Dancing--you know this resort.

My father's signature meal. After he got sober and changed jobs, my mother started working two nights a week at a halfway house. Dad and I took turns making dinner but neither of us were particularly skilled in the kitchen, but we liked what we ate.

There's something about other people's kitchens that I will always love--probably because they have always been safe harbor for me (for the most part) and the very first (and for the next several decades) "family" kitchen for me was the Roch's kitchen where I learned how to make Macaroni and Cheese.
