I was inspired to start my own business and become a independent distributor. However, the amount of money needed to get started was insane. However, it didn't stop my wife from embarking on her own business as a riding instructor and stable owner. She had the skills, knowledge and passion for it to be a total success. Alas, her business partner let her down and finally the project simply fell apart.
I was very proud of her bravery, but considering the large percentage of business opportunities that failure, I was not surprised. I questioned what made her pursue such a high risk project in the first place. Yes, she loved running her own business for the freedom and her passion for horses.

Understanding why we do anything, I believe needs us to return to the sauce. This means returning to the time when we were passionate about what we were about to start. I can remember starting my first real job and even though it was a long time ago, my why was simple. I wanted to get enough money to go out with my friends and be able to afford to take my girlfriend on a date which entailed more than sitting in the park.
However, this was not a job with passion, it was a means to an end and at the time I was happy with that as most of use are.
My first passion was music.
I purchased my first guitar when I was 15 years old and when I was about 16 a friend of a friend asked me to join their band as a bass player. I loved it!!! We played local gigs and even backed a few headliners at the local university. The buzz on stage was electric and the relationship we built still exist today.
Simpler times meant simpler whys
However, business or higher aspirations requires more than short term goals of hanging out with friends. Yes, chatting up girls after a gig and playing in bands even if the music inspired me to be more than I was. Since then I have become a passionate advocate of network marketing and MLM so the importance of why I do what I do has been vital to my success.

However, I found this company some years ago and became very existed about the prospect that this was a company that attracted people not familiar with direct sales.

My name is Steven Jackson and I was born in a city in the south of England called Southampton. I enjoyed a pleasant childhood with my mother, father and a younger brother. On the whole I remember that life was happy and most of the time we had enough money. I can’t remember a situation when we were hungry even though I do recall my mother searching for coins in the kitchen draws so she could buy milk. Nowadays I put that memory down to the fact my mother is Scottish and as tight as a otter's pocket.
On the other hand, school was not so good. I was not a great pupil, but I managed to scrape through with passes and unbelievably gained an apprenticeship in metalwork for a local company. I think my dark sense of humour came from them years, which I still have a bit today even though I have been away from that life for many years. However, I have fond memories and friendships that still endure today.
My apprenticeship years seemed to move slowly until a friend of a friend asked me to join his band. I didn’t realise it then, but it was a key point in my journey or that something that allow us to say “I can be more than I am” rather than just vegetating into the same old existence. Even then I dreaded becoming my father and that is not to say that he was not a successful person in his own right, but to aspire to be another 9 to 5 employee was something I really did not want.
The years went by and I completed my apprenticeship, I purchased a house with a girlfriend and was enjoying playing the band circuit, but I was still in my mind missing something, even though I couldn’t see what it was at the time. So, I decided to return to school by starting an Open University degree course, which as I found was right out of my comfort zone, but being out of my comfort zone gave me the strength to pursue goals outside my normal social circle.
