  • Welcome to the REVAPod: Your Ultimate Guide to Freelancing Show, where we help you build the foundation for a successful and fulfilling freelance career.

In this week's episode, we're thrilled to have as our guest Francesca Isabel Cunanan, a nursing graduate and mother of two who turned to freelancing full-time in 2014 after working in the BPO industry for over a decade. Over the past eight years, Francesca has faced her fair share of challenges and struggles as a freelancer, but she has also achieved incredible growth and success.

During our conversation, Francesca will share her journey as a freelancer, including the struggles she faced and the strategies she used to overcome them. She'll also offer valuable insights and advice for anyone considering a career in freelancing, including tips on how to find and land clients, how to price and negotiate your services, and how to stay motivated and focused as you grow your business.

But perhaps most importantly, Francesca will talk about the importance of remembering to focus on the things that matter most in our lives, like our family and faith. She'll share how God's plan is often better than our own plans, and how we can trust in His guidance as we navigate the ups and downs of freelancing.

As human beings, it can be easy to take for granted the blessings that come our way and forget to acknowledge and thank the source of those blessings. This is something that many of us may struggle with at times, including myself. When we're caught up in the hustle and bustle of life, it can be easy to lose sight of what's truly important and fail to express gratitude for the good things that come our way.

But it's important to remember that everything we have - our talents, our opportunities, our relationships, and even our very breath - is a gift from God. And when we fail to recognize and thank Him for these blessings, we risk missing out on the fullness of His blessings and the joy and fulfillment that comes from living a life of gratitude.

So let's all make an effort to be more mindful of the blessings in our lives and to express gratitude to the source of those blessings. By doing so, we can cultivate a spirit of thankfulness that will bring joy and fulfillment to our own lives and inspire others to do the same. So, let's all strive to be more aware of the blessings in our lives and make an effort to express gratitude to the source of those blessings.

If you're considering a career in freelancing or you're an experienced freelancer looking for new ideas and strategies to grow your business, this is an episode you won't want to miss. So sit back, relax, and join us as we learn from the wise and talented Francesca Cunanan. You'll come away from this episode feeling inspired, motivated, and ready to take your freelance career to the next level.

  • For me, this episode was quite emotional. I didn't anticipate it to be so intensely personal and emotional, but that's one of the reasons I enjoy this show so much. I can really relate to what the guests are going through, especially when it comes to freelancing and everyday life. Aila had her fair share of difficulties and hurdles to go beyond. But she persisted, transforming those challenges into chances... And she explained how you can do the same in this episode.

  • He was my first client a few years ago, and we've stayed in touch ever since. Yes, he recruited me despite my inexperience. At the time, I had no prior experience. He taught me a lot, particularly in the field of real estate.

It brings back memories to speak with him and be reminded of the important things in life. This episode taught me the following:

    Planning is critical

I am the type of person that prefers to have everything orderly, therefore I constantly plan ahead for work. I agree with him when he says that people lack planning.

    Always strive to improve

We should accomplish more than the basic minimum if we want to achieve something or receive a promotion.

    How to Deal with Failure

I like how he views failure as a natural part of life, how we should perceive it, and how to get back up after failing.

Here are the topics discussed in this episode:  1. What are your qualifications when your hiring people? (6:32)  2. How did you know when the applicant is the right fit for the role (8:54)  3. Why did you decide to hire a newbie? (10:26)  4. How did you decide when you are letting go of someone? (10:33)  5. Tips for aspiring REVAs (14:08)

  • As a freelancer, are you having trouble finding clients? I completely understand how difficult it is to find new clients; I've been in the same situation as Nin. In this episode, she discusses how crucial it is to establish rapport and trust in order to gain a client. Make it count, and establish a long-term relationship for your freelance business.

Mindset has also played an important role in her path, as it was taught to her during her Army training. Nothing, she argues, can stop you if you have the right mindset. There are many free resources available to help us learn what we need to know. Nin also discussed what premium clients are and how much you may charge for your services.
