Episódios

  • Today’s episode is the second part of a three-part series inproviding more clarity around punishment, consequences and boundaries.

I find that these three things can be wildly misunderstood.

I am offering this series to provide some clarity around how each of these is different. Often, we use these words interchangeably however, each carry a different energy, purpose and impact.

On this episode, we dive into effective consequences.

    Key takeaways:

    · A true consequence is about how one FEELS aboutthe impact of their choices and actions

    · Effective Consequences are about taking ownershipof one’s choices and actions

    · Trust must be present to take ownership

    · Effective Consequences focus on solutions ratherthan the problem

    · Effective Consequences create problem solvers

    · Effective Consequences keep self-worth in tact

    · With Effective Consequences the child becomespart of the solution

    · Effective Consequences is about solving aproblem without diminishing anyone in the process

    · 3 elements of Effective Consequences are:Reflection, Make a plan, Follow-up

    · 3 types of Effective Consequences are: Natural, Logicaland Problem Solving

  • Do you find that the lines between punishment, consequences and boundaries can be blurred and confusing?

Culturally, we often change words. However, when the lens in which we look through doesn’t change, they become intertwined. I am offering this three-part series to provide you with more clarity. Through this series you will be invited to open up to new perceptions and insights.

In this episode we will dive into punishment, what it is andits impact.

In this episode I talk about how punishment:

    · Creates shame & self-doubt

    · Creates a barrier to decision making

    · Creates perfectionism

    · Erodes self-worth and creates the belief of notgood enough

    · Creates separation and a “me” vs. “you” dynamic

    · Is used for adult convenience and emotional relief

    · Creates pleasers and controllers- (drama roles)

  • “There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.”

    — William Shakespeare

Are you surrounded by negative people? Perhaps you have a child who always seems to see from the glass half empty.

What is your relationship to negativity? Did you learnNOT to be negative? Temperament can play a part in negativity. What you resist, persists and grows bigger. Are you overcompensating for positivity? How can youmanage your energy rather than taking on the energy of others?

Tune in and let’s untangle our resistance to negativity.

  • On today’s episode I am joined by health and fitness coachAdriana Mastronardi.

How do busy moms find time to focus on their own health and fitness? How do we stay consistent with our health and fitness goals? Adriana breaks it down for us in this episode.

Adriana is an Environmental Engineer with a master’s degreein environmental health. In 2008, she quit her job as an engineer to pursue her passion for teaching. After her 3rd child was born, she felt that she got lost in the shuffle of raising a family and working full time. So, she set out on ajourney of re-discovery. She found fitness and quickly fell in love with getting strong. She fell in love with taking care of herself first, so she could show up for those that are important to her in the right ways.

Through her journey, she realized her passion for helping other women feel good in their bodies, so she completed a nutrition coaching certification and her personal training license. She wants other women to understand the importance of making time for themselves, while using fitness and nutrition to help guide that process.

  • The BEST GIFT I have received is the understanding andpractice of healthy boundaries. The gift boundaries give is that it fills us up with self-respect, self-esteem, self-love and self-worth.

If you find boundaries confusing you are not alone. I too, was lost when it came to boundaries. I have been on both sides – from over giving, peacekeeping, and exhausted to discovering the TRUE MEANING of boundaries and feeling connected, calm and more peaceful.

Boundaries align us with our TRUTH. It is not your job to manage anyone else’s experience or response to your truth. Boundaries are not set through blame or payback. Healthy relationships are at the heart of boundaries.
