  • A Maricopa County judge has sentenced a 35-year-old man to spend more than two decades behind bars. The sentencing stems from a 2020 road rage incident in Arizona, where the man, identified as Frank Martin Lawrence III, fatally attacked another motorist after a dispute on the road.

The victim, James William Ackerman Jr., lost his life in the altercation while his girlfriend, Carlyn Bui [BOO-ee], was assaulted by Lawrence. According to authorities, the incident unfolded on the night of January 11, 2020, when Bui was preparing to make a left turn, Lawrence, who was driving a white Dodge pickup truck, “veered into her lane, causing Bui to honk.”

Following the confrontation, Lawrence pursued the couple to their apartment, approximately 20 miles southeast of Phoenix, where he unleashed a series of violent actions. Lawrence approached Bui’s vehicle and proceeded to reach into her car through an open window, striking her in the face while she remained secured by her seatbelt inside her car. Lawrence then returned to his vehicle and began to drive away.
Prosecutors stated that Ackerman exited the couple's vehicle to get the defendant's license plate. Lawrence then made a U-turn, passing by the couple once more before executing a second U-turn, hitting Ackerman. As a result, Ackerman was propelled onto the sidewalk, landing on his head.
According to records, Lawrence departed the scene without offering aid or notifying authorities. Ackerman was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Subsequent search warrants revealed emails from an account linked to Lawrence, in which the sender sought to return vehicle components for the same truck implicated in the incident. The sender clarified that the parts were being returned because the vehicle had been reported stolen.
Lawrence pleaded guilty to second-degree murder for Ackerman's death and aggravated assault for his attack on Bui. The court subsequently ordered him to serve a sentence of 25 years in a state correctional facility.
Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell condemned Lawrence's actions, emphasizing that road rage cannot be tolerated. Mitchell stated, "This defendant’s out-of-control behavior cost the life of an innocent victim. Road rage is a criminal offense that happens all too often in our state."

  • In a candid episode of "Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski," listeners are treated to the insights of Robin Dreeke, a retired FBI agent with a penchant for unraveling the complex web of federal investigations. The duo dives deep into the recent Homeland Security raids on Sean "Puffy" Combs' properties, dissecting the ins and outs of a case that's as convoluted as it is sensational. Here’s the skinny on their chat:

  • On a pivotal day in federal court, Alex Murdaugh, the disgraced former personal injury attorney, was sentenced to an additional 40 years in prison, culminating in a total of 480 months behind bars. This stern judgment was passed down by U.S. District Judge Richard M. Gergel in South Carolina, following Murdaugh's guilty plea to a litany of 22 federal financial crimes charges back in September of the previous year.

Judge Gergel expressed his determination to enforce a sentence of 480 months, alongside mandatory restitution surpassing $9 million, aimed at compensating the victims of Murdaugh's extensive financial misdeeds. However, recognizing Murdaugh's incapacity to fulfill this restitution, Gergel opted to waive the fee, mandating instead that Murdaugh immediately pay a $2,000 special assessment.

In court, Murdaugh expressed deep remorse for his actions, stating, "I do want you to know and all of the victims to know I am filled with sorrow. I am filled with remorse. I am filled with guilt."

Jim Griffin, Murdaugh's attorney, voiced uncertainty regarding the actual duration Murdaugh would serve of the 40-year sentence, noting the federal system's practice of inmates serving roughly 60% of their sentences, which could potentially reduce Murdaugh's time in prison to 24 years. "Things can change over time," Griffin remarked outside the Charleston courthouse.

The sentencing drew reactions from various quarters, including Eric Bland, a lawyer representing the victims of Murdaugh's financial crimes. Bland found it "offensive" to compare Murdaugh's victims to those of high-profile financial criminals like Bernie Madoff or the Enron executives, emphasizing that Murdaugh's victims had suffered personal losses, not just financial setbacks.

Murdaugh, aged 55, is concurrently serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole for the June 2021 murder of his wife, Maggie, and their youngest son, Paul, a crime prosecutors argue was an attempt to divert attention from his unraveling financial misdeeds.

Additionally, Murdaugh faced a 27-year sentence in a state case for his financial crimes, handed down last November. Despite federal prosecutors recommending a 17 to 22-year sentence for Murdaugh's near two-dozen crimes, including bank fraud and money laundering, a recent development saw allegations of Murdaugh failing part of a polygraph test, potentially breaching his plea agreement.

Murdaugh's defense team, including Griffin and Dick Harpootlian, contested these allegations, arguing for the dismissal of the charges based on the supposed irregularities of the polygraph test. Their request to review the polygraph examination was initially considered but ultimately withdrawn during Monday's hearing.

In the backdrop of these legal proceedings, Murdaugh was also implicated in a jury tampering allegation related to his murder trial. Despite his attorneys' efforts to secure a new trial based on these claims, the court decided against it, leaving Murdaugh to face the consequences of his myriad crimes, both financial and violent, that have irrevocably tarnished his legacy and inflicted immeasurable harm on his victims and their families.

  • In the latest gripping episode of "Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski," the conversation turns to none other than Sean Combs, aka Diddy, and his fascinating fall from the gleaming heights of hip-hop royalty to the shadowy depths of alleged depravity. Shavaun Scott, a psychotherapist and author, lends her expertise to dissect the curious case of how a man who ostensibly achieved the American Dream—complete with an empire that spanned music, fashion, and vodka—could possibly find himself ensnared in controversies that seem more fitting for a villain in a psychological thriller than a music mogul.

    Highlights of their dialogue include:

A bemused recounting of Diddy’s journey from humble origins to becoming the king of an entertainment empire, juxtaposed against the backdrop of allegations that paint a far less flattering picture.Scott’s musings on the nature of power and its intoxicating effect on the psyche, suggesting that Diddy's alleged fall from grace isn’t just a tale of success gone sour but a psychological saga of what happens when too much wealth meets too little restraint. The discussion veers into the realm of the grotesque as parallels are drawn with other high-profile cases of downfall, hinting that Diddy’s story is but a verse in the sordid song of celebrity excess leading to moral bankruptcy.Insights into the psychology behind such dramatic reversals of fortune, where Scott posits that the seeds of such behaviors were likely sown long before the world knew Diddy as anything more than a fledgling rapper and producer.A speculative exploration into why such disturbing behaviors seem to be a recurring theme among the ultra-wealthy, with Scott offering her perspective on the mix of hubris, isolation, and a distorted sense of impunity as contributing factors.#DiddyDownfall

  • Recent disclosures from an interview with Kevin Franke, the estranged husband of influencer Ruby Franke, have unveiled distressing insights into the atmosphere within their household. These revelations come in the wake of Ruby's arrest on child abuse charges, shedding light on the restrictive dynamics and concerning behavior that characterized their domestic life.

During the interview with authorities following Ruby's arrest, Kevin Franke provided a candid account of the stringent rules imposed upon him while he and Ruby were living together. He detailed how Ruby's business partner, Jodi Hildebrandt, moved into their home, prompting a series of restrictions that significantly impacted Kevin's autonomy.

"I couldn't come into the kitchen to eat until Ruby gave me permission," Kevin revealed, emphasizing the extent to which Ruby controlled their interactions.

Moreover, Kevin recounted Ruby's involvement with a group named ConneXions, which he characterized as a "religious cult." He described how Ruby's behavior underwent a drastic transformation, alleging that she claimed to communicate with divine entities and experienced trances.

"The upstairs where Jodi was was completely offline. I couldn't go upstairs anymore in my own house," Kevin lamented, underscoring the unsettling nature of the environment.

The dire situation escalated when both Ruby and Jodi were arrested for child abuse after Ruby's son sought assistance from a neighbor. Subsequent investigations revealed two emaciated children in Ruby's home, leading to legal action against Ruby and Jodi. Both individuals pleaded guilty to four counts of child abuse, resulting in the imposition of the maximum sentence of 30 years in prison each.

Throughout the legal proceedings, Ruby expressed remorse for her actions, extending apologies to her husband and children for the turmoil they endured.

"For the past four years, I've chosen to follow counsel and guidance that has led me into a dark delusion," Ruby lamented during her sentencing hearing. "To my babies, you are a part of me. I believed dark was light and right was wrong. I would do anything in this world for you. I took from you all that was soft, and safe, and good."

The release of this interview footage, coupled with chilling journal entries detailing Ruby's mistreatment of her children, has ignited public interest and prompted discussions about accountability and the impact of toxic environments on familial relationships. As the legal process unfolds, further revelations may emerge, shedding additional light on the complexities of this troubling case.

  • The controversy surrounding music mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs has reached new heights following revelations of alleged clandestine "freak-off" parties and the installation of hidden cameras at his properties, sparking widespread concern and scrutiny.

According to court documents filed by Diddy's former employee, Rodney 'Lil Rod' Jones, the rapper is accused of covertly recording guests at his residences, including celebrities, athletes, politicians, and music executives, engaging in illicit activities. These allegations have raised significant questions about privacy violations and potential blackmail tactics.

Jones's lawsuit paints a disturbing picture of these gatherings, describing them as events sponsored by major players in the recording industry, where attendees reportedly indulged in drugs, sex, and encounters with underage individuals. The civil complaint alleges that Diddy possessed compromising footage of every person who attended these parties, which he allegedly used as leverage.

Social media reactions to these allegations have been swift and vocal, with many expressing concern over the potential destruction of evidence and the involvement of powerful figures. Comments on platforms like TikTok reflect a mixture of outrage and skepticism, with users speculating about the fate of incriminating videos and the identities of those implicated.

Meanwhile, the spotlight on Diddy intensified after federal officials executed search warrants at his Los Angeles and Miami properties earlier this week. Aerial footage from the raid appeared to show Diddy's sons, Justin and King, being led out of the Los Angeles residence in handcuffs, although his legal team emphasized that they were not formally detained.

In response to the raids, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) issued a statement acknowledging its involvement in an ongoing investigation but provided limited details regarding the nature of the operation. The move has further fueled speculation about the scope and implications of the probe into Diddy's activities.

As the legal proceedings unfold and public scrutiny intensifies, the allegations against Diddy have cast a shadow over his reputation and raised broader questions about accountability and transparency in the entertainment industry. With federal authorities actively investigating the matter, the outcome of this high-profile case remains uncertain, leaving many awaiting further developments with bated breath.
