  • Prepare yourself! Team Dead Air is about to bring you to the scariest place on earth with 2018's Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum.

    Han-Joon runs the ghost hunting Youtube channel "Horror Times" and sets his sights on doing an episode featuring one of CNN's most scary places on earth, Gonjiam Asylum. He brings a team of six people in the hopes of big views and an even bigger payout from advertisers. With so much on the line he will do anything - even lie to get the scares he needs to guarantee the stream goes viral.

    However, not long after entering the team discovers that these scares are very real and very deadly. Chaos and nightmares ensue as the infamous asylum claims more patients within its dilapidated walls. Seeing the numbers go up - Han-Joon would sacrifice them all for views and to finally discover what is the mystery behind the door of room 402.

    The Harper family is trying to put their lives together after the tragic loss of their matriarch. Dad returns to his home psychology practice while his daughters, Sophie and little Sawyer return to school. The sudden appearance of a disturbed man named Lester Billings, looking for help, ends in his apparent suicide. The trauma rocks the Harper family further which is likely why the talk of a monster being responsible for the death of Billings' children is ignored.

    Soon, both sisters come to grips that whatever killed Lester's kids has followed him here and is now stalking them. They know nothing about this mysterious monsters except one thing - It's hungry!

  • You may be home, but you're not without Dead Air! It's that time of year again and with the season comes episode 210 with the 2016 film - Better, Watch Out!

    17 year old Ashley is about to move away with her family but for old time sake she takes up on last babysitting gig for the Lerner family. She's been watching little Luke since he was eight years old and now at 12 they're just like old friends. Luke however wants to be more than friends and hopes Ashley's last night fueled with scary movies and a little champagne could make her finally realize he was meant for her.

    His plans are cut short however when it becomes obvious that someone outside wants in and if anyone attempts to leave - they die.

  • On October 31st 2023. A Podcast broadcasting out of Canada broadcasted its Halloween episode. Two Podcasters died that night, the hosts of the show. Their surviving family members agreed to let the episode air. That way you could all hear Wes and Lydia discuss the 2016 found footage film; Hell House LLC

    A Haunt built from the remains of the Abbadon Hotel in upstate New York was set to open on Oct 8th. Instead of thrills and chills everyone got more than they bargained for, which resulted in fifteen people being killed. The circumstances have never been revealed on what really happened that night. Until now.

    A fan favorite, but relatively unknown to the general public. A film which spawned a franchise that has opened up the strange and Hellish world of the Abbadon Hotel. The latest film Hell House Origins: The Carmichael Manor is now streaming on Shudder!

  • The sunlight fields surrounding a picturesque house seems warm and inviting. A little slice of paradise we like to call home. Welcome back to Dead Air! Today’s episode we discuss one of the most famous films to come out of the Asian horror boom of the early 2000s. 2003’s; A Tale of Two Sisters.

    After a long time, Su-mi and her sister Su-yeon return to their fathers home in the South Korean country-side. Once there they are met with their cold and cruel step-mother, Eun-Joo.

    Things get off to a rocky-start and soon more than their step-mother seems off with their childhood home. Horrible dreams of a nightmarish ghost plague Su-mi and one bad thing happens after another. This all leads to a startling revelation that will deeply have Su-mi questioning not only her own memories but, her very understanding of reality itself.

    One of the single most influential Korean horror films ever made that seamlessly blends intense drama and horror while maintaining a fairy-tale atmosphere. A Tale of Two Sisters is simply perfect.

    Private Cooper is a military man on a special training exercise with his troop lead by his grizzled Sergeant Wells. As the night grows dark and the moon is full they encounter a ferocious group of creatures that start shredding them limb from limb! A bit of luck and a lot of desperation lead them to meet up with a local Zoologist that brings them to an old farmhouse buried deep in the woods for them to make a stand. Bullets are only good for keeping this pack of werewolves at bay, they'll need their wits to form a real plan or end up on the menu. But after a time with ammo as low as their dwindling numbers, it becomes clear that them being in this place at this time is no accident.

    Madison is a young woman who's domestic bliss is nothing short of a nightmare. One night her abusive partner pushes her hard against the wall, cracking her head. Then hours later her husband is found brutally murdered by a shadowy intruder. A short time later Madison is having vivid visions of murders of people she's never seen before but these visions are not just in her head. They're real! She is somehow connected to a deranged and brutal killer who is taking out Doctors who worked on a mysterious project back in 1993. What unravels is a buckwild, genre-bending, horror-action extravaganza!

  • Kayako is back and this time she's bringing Sarah Michelle Geller with her! On Episode 202 of Dead Air we wrap up our multi-episode J-horror extravaganza discussing the two pillars of the J-horror invasion and their American remakes! Today we finish off with the 2004 remake of The Grudge.

    Karen Davis is an industrious exchange student that definitely has a boyfriend who is relevant and everything to the plot living in Japan, when the sudden loss of a care-worker to the Williams family occurs and she hastily takes on the assignment to accommodate the English speaking household. Once she crosses into that home it's clear that nothing is right. The family is gone save for an elderly woman who soon dies while being menaced by an evil presence. It becomes clear that all who cross that doorway are doomed. Can Karen discover the truth of the terrible curse that envelops this property and save herself or is she simply doomed like everyone else?

    A groundbreaking haunting story by writer/director Takashi Shimizu. The grudge would solidify the early 2000's as the decade of remakes from overseas that meant big scares for Western audiences as well as big profits for studios.

    At a sleepy suburban home in Japan a family is mired by tragedy. Social workers, cops and urban explorers go missing once they cross the cursed threshold of this home. Anyone who lives there or tries to help is killed mercilessly through a twisted story of time and space not limited by the laws of the universe or the mercy of the Gods. A quiet night curled up watching Netflix could end with Kayako crawling under your blankets to pull you to oblivion.

  • I wonder if you'd heard this rumour about a strange episode of a podcast that's been passed around lately? They say once you listen to it you die seven days later. Today, pop in your VHS and press play of episode 198 of Dead Air! Finally Wes and Lydia discuss the 1998 film - Ring (Ringu).

    Reiko is an investigative journalist covering a story of a mysterious video that's been circulating amongst teens in the area. It's said that if you watch the tape you die. When her own niece suddenly dies while spending a quiet evening with a friend in her home - she's set off to discover the video for herself.

    Upon viewing it strange things start to occur and she ponders the tapes true origins. To make matters worse her own son will view the tape taking the deathly end to this course from curious possibility, to unacceptable truth. Reiko and her ex husband are now racing against the clock. Not just for her life, but also the life of their child. However, the curse and its origins are darker and more evil than either of them can understand. Until it's too late.
