The U. S. Civil Rights Movement, anti-apartheid protests, fight for Indian independence, and women's suffrage campaigns are all generally characterized by the nonviolent change they enacted. Join us as we learn about Gandhi's violent counterparts, feminist bombers, the Black Panthers (not the ones from Wakanda), and some of the most notable violent resistance movements around the world.

In February 1899, Rudyard Kipling wrote and published a poem about his beliefs on the duty of the white man to 'educate' and 'civilize' other cultures and countries. We discuss how those lines, and the doctrine of imperialism it fueled, had real effects on the world as we know it, as well as how the "White Man's Burden" is still alive in the minds of people today.
