Matt is an Ex-FIFO worker from the Oil & Gas industry who, after a quarter life crisis, left it all behind in search of a new career in the Financial Sector. Now working as a Money Coach and a Financial Wellbeing Educator, Matt has spent the past 20 years working with people from the FIFO and Mining sector, to help them better manage their money, reach their financial goals and afford a life that lights them up.
We had an awesome chat with Matt, who takes the approach of blending social science with personal finance, which we quickly found out makes a lot of sense. From the spending habits of lifestyle creep, to the golden handcuffs of FIFO, entry and exit strategies, crypto currencies and the influence our society has on our hunter gatherer minds. We cover it all in this fun and light hearted conversation about a somewhat taboo topic that we know and love as Money.

On episode 14 of The FIFO Show we sit down and chat with Chris, a Light Vehicle Fitter (Mechanic) who has been on one hell of a personal journey these past couple of years.
This inspirational story begins with the end of an 18 year relationship, which sees Chris' life spiral out of control, through drug and alcohol fueled R&Rs. Already overweight and a heavy smoker, his bad habits had lead him into a very unhealthy place, both physically and mentally. Hear how Chris turns his life around, to conquer one of his biggest fears, lose upwards of 50kg and get back in the dating game, all through the blood, sweat and tears of his own discipline.
Some things mentioned in this episode may be confronting for some people, but we hope that Chris' story can help inspire others who may be going through any challenges of their own.

Its been a minute... but we're back! On this episode Brett & Sheena open up about some of the struggles they've faced in their personal lives so far in 2021, giving an explanation into why they've been so quiet on the podcast front. One example of this is The FIFO Show joining in on The Push Up Challenge for mental health and suicide prevention. We have created The FIFO Show community on the Push Up Challenge website and would love it if our listeners joined in too.
