A few weeks back we had endurance swimmer Bob Tarr on the podcast. At the time, Bob was getting ready to complete his English Channel crossing.
Well, he made it! We made sure to catch up with him for a follow up interview on his experience on the swim and how he managed such an incredible achievement.

Shannon is also a awesome short-medium distance trail runner, regularly finishing on the podium of events he enters.
More importantly, Shannon, in spite of his Kiwi heritage, is also a great bloke. He provides regular inspiration and encouragement throughout his social media channels as to other competitors during events.
We discuss training, his background and the role of social media in endurance sports among many other things.

Maggie Kelly is a meditation expert and the founder of Satsang house, a meditation centre based in San Diego.
Maggie found meditation after reaching a turning point in her own life. Stressed and run down from pursuing a career in marketing and becoming a mother, she read a book by Deepak Chopra that put her on to the art of meditation. From there she hasn't turned back.

Welcome back to the podcast. This episode is a little different to the others we’ve been doing. On this podcast we're joined by ex-Zimbawean test cricketer Henry Olonga, the first black cricketer and the youngest player ever for Zimbabwe.
Perhaps he is best renowned however, not for his successful bowling career on the pitch, but for an international stand against the Mugabe regime. Along with Andy Flower, Olonga chose to wear a black armband during the 2003 world cup match against Namibia to ‘mourn the death of democracy’.
Death threats followed and a warrant was issued of Olongas arrest, on charges of treason. Henry was forced into exile, escaping first to South Africa and then to England with the help of a few supporters.
Henry eventually made his way to Australia, where I happened to meet him in the bathroom of a restaurant in Adelaide.
We had a quick chat where Henry gives a rundown of his cricket career and his thoughts on the recently deposed tyrant. Not the usual Zuberant Life subject matter, though we hope you find it interesting anyway. -
Ian has over 20 years international professional experience in health, safety and performance/productivity improvement. Ian commenced his career in an operational military role (~5 yrs.) before advancing his research interests with elite athletes and working in industry including mining, rail, oil & gas, construction and utilities (~16 yrs.). A combination of scientific research and operational leadership to support organizations in reducing risk, lowering cost whilst optimizing productivity & performance. He is an ultrarunner, completing over 20 ultramarathons to date including the Ultra Trail Australia ~100km (7 times), Leadville~100 miler, numerous other marathons and trail running events. He is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Purple belt and enjoys cross training in wrestling, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and kettlebells. He is now focusing on improving his swimming to undertake open water swimming events in 2018/19.
Ian is currently the Director and Principal Consultant of Melius Consulting and has a PhD from the University of Western Australia (UWA), where he worked with elite sporting organisations/athletes to optimise sleep, recovery and performance. Ian has worked with elite and highly trained athletes at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), West Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS), professional teams in Super Rugby, Australian Rules Football, Basketball, Swimming, Ultrarunners and Martial Arts such as Boxing, & MMA.
Ian is the host of Sleep4Performance radio a podcast dedicated to education, knowledge sharing and promotion of the value of managing sleep. Accompanied by a website www.sleep4performance.com.au provides blogs, resources and research on all aspects of sleep, recovery and performance. -

Zuberant Life's marketing manager Cody Hudson is gearing up for a big 6 months of endurance challenges!
First he's tackling a 57km ultramarathon through the Adelaide Hills in October. From there he heads over to Victoria for a 100km, 4.4km elevation trail run through the Falls Creek region.
In January he flies over to Argentina to climb South Americas highest peak, Mount Aconcagua.
Throughout, he will look to incorporate all aspects of the Zuber model; nutrition, sleep, mindset, community and more to ensure he gets the best results possible.
He's not a runner and these are distances well outside his comfort zone. He believes however, like many of us, that life is best lived outside your comfort zone.
