The Climate Histories Interdisciplinary Seminar is about bringing together and expanding a network of people from different backgrounds (sciences, arts, humanities, and social sciences, as well as people working in policy, media, and industry) to tackle questions about climate and environmental change in the past, present, and future.
The general questions we ask as a network are: Why does environmental knowledge matter? What can we learn about climate change from history? How can different disciplines work together to develop our understanding? (See our website created for a one-year AHRC network project at http://climatehistories.innerasiaresearch.org/ )
The aim of the seminar series will be to share knowledge, start conversations, and work towards new ways of thinking for future research projects.
For this second season of CRASSH-sponsored discussions on climate (and other environmental) processes, we are generating another interdisciplinary programme which combines attention to academic research, questions of application, and communication strategies. Roughly speaking the year is divided into three large themes, which will occupy one term each: water; ice; and ‘what is to be done?’ – the exploration of failed as well as successful projects designed to respond in some way to changing environmental conditions. -
The Institute for Human Security is a university-wide institute, which endeavours to further interdisciplinary research on all aspects related to human security as defined by the United Nations and encourages an ongoing dialogue between academia, development agencies and policy makers.

President Clinton and Bono join in a unique conversation with 200 students from around the world, moderated by broadcast journalist Sam Donaldson. William Jefferson Clinton was the first Democratic president since Franklin Roosevelt to be elected to two full terms in office. During the Clinton administration the United States moved from record deficits to record surpluses and enjoyed the longest economic expansion in U.S. history. In foreign affairs, he fostered the historic peace accord between Israel and Jordan, and helped promote the peace process in Northern Ireland. President Clinton dispatched American military forces to enforce the peace agreement in Bosnia and to avert impending genocide in Kosovo. Born and raised in Dublin, Paul "Bono" Hewson was still in his teens when he answered an ad posted on a school bulletin board to join a fledgling rock band. It became one of the most original, best-loved rock groups of all time: U2. For many, U2's success came to symbolize a new prominence for Ireland in Europe and the world. Bono and U2 lent their support to African famine relief, to Amnesty International and the campaign against apartheid. U2 still fills arenas all over the world and Bono has continued to speak out for Third World debt forgiveness and to raise global awareness of the AIDS epidemic ravaging Africa.

We are the publishers of Orthopedics This Week, the most widely read publication in the Orthopedics industry. Orthopedics is, in our way of thinking, a small town with roughly 250,000 residents. These residents include clinicians, nurses, administrators, staff, suppliers, manufacturers, scientists, sales people, regulators, investors and consultants. So we think of ourselves as the community paper. We hope that our little paper, which we publish 40 times a year, will illuminate, elevate and educate you. Like small town publishers and writers everywhere, we are also part of this community and, for good or ill, that fact finds its way into our attitudes and commentaries. Yes, we are biased—in favor of you, our community. Roughly 3.3 times each month, Orthopedics This Week brings you the latest breaking orthopedic news. We also host innovative technology conferences and publish quarterly Market Forecasts and Analysis. Occasionally we also publish data and conference books. We are part of a unique, essential and endlessly fascinating industry. What a great place to be!

This is words of wisdome from various people. Some are motivational speakers, some are celebrities. Some see motivational speakers as cons, and the ones that want you to chant and ridiculous things like that are. However, I see them as waking inside of us what we already knew but was afraid to use. Just like a parent giving a child direction, many times the child knows what to do but needs that guidance.
