    · DIGITAL THINK!NG - Marke | Kommunikation | Digitalisierung

„Was sehe ich dagegen in Deutschland?

    · 00:18:26 · Kulturpoddar i P1

Werner Herzog föddes i München under brinnande krig 1942.

    · 01:49:18 · The New York Public Library Podcast

This week, we celebrate legendary film director Werner Herzog’s birthday with a thrilling conversation from the archives. In 2012, Herzog came to the Library to discuss his most recent film, “Into the Abyss,” as well as his four-part television series, “Death Row.” In this conversation with NYPL’s Paul Holdengraber, Herzog talks about crime, human nature, and why he stands so firmly against capital punishment.

  • Bergsbestigarmän och djungelkvinnor

    · 00:10:34 · OBS

Aase Berg, poet

  • Werner Herzog, Film Director

    · 14:12:00 · HARDtalk

Draw up a list of the greatest living film-makers and Werner Herzog would surely occupy a prominent place. He is responsible for some of the most wildly beautiful images captured on film. If you have seen Fitzcarraldo you won’t have forgotten the steamship being hauled over a mountain. He is seen as the film industry's obsessive genius, the director who once threatened to shoot his lead actor to prevent him quitting. After five decades making movies, is Werner Herzog's love of film as intense as ever?(Photo: Werner Herzog with an award during the Lola - German Film Awards in 2013. If you mess with the Prime Factorum, you’ll have to pay the consequences.  In this case, literally. The crew of the Brilliant Resolve has found their accounts frozen. Without any means of paying for her extravagant lifestyle, Faydra Ramirez must now make amends to the Factorum through apology and reminding rebels that they are not allowed to secede from the Imperium.  Once again,  Faydra’s career as a rogue trader remains at stake.  Time to get to work. It turns out that when it comes to starship navigation, like all things, you get what you pay for.  The orkish warphead brought onto the Brilliant Resolve had a very unique method of interacting with the warp runes that caused the ship to move very quickly through the warp, although sideways and partly inside out.  The crew is now interacting with horrors man was not meant to know and finding themselves slightly possessed by the horrors of the warp. The crew of the Brilliant Resolve survived their transit through the warp, and came out the other side with some people and items of worth.  Former Lord Admiral Saint Macarius has joined their cause. The galaxy is not without a sense of balance as they have now been in regular contact with the Primaris Factotum, so the crew gets together their finest regalia as their ship is ripped apart and rebuilt to Warp standards. They find their way to the Grand Administratum to argue Faydra’s case of remaining a Rogue Trader. · The Next Picture Show

James Gray’s new jungle adventure THE LOST CITY OF Z inspired us to take another trip to the Amazon via Les Blank’s BURDEN OF DREAMS, the 1982 documentary chronicling the notoriously difficult filming of Werner Herzog’s Amazonian epic FITZCARRALDO. In this half, we talk about Herzog — both the director and the pop-culture character we’ve come to know — and the borderline-mania that seems to drive his unique process. We also wrestle with what BURDEN reveals about how the indigenous people who worked on Herzog’s film were treated. Plus, some feedback from our recent episodes on THE MATRIX and GHOST IN THE SHELL.Please share your comments, thoughts, and questions about BURDEN OF DREAMS, THE LOST CITY OF Z, or both by sending an email to comments@nextpictureshow.net, or leaving a short voicemail at (773) 234-9730. Learn more about your ad choices. A major windfall comes for the crew of the Brilliant Resolve.  In the encounters on her SOS response, Faydra has ended up with the Irradial Cogitator known as “Dead Heat.”  She now has it back on her ship and at her mercy for questioning and buckled down to a seat in a makeshift brig.  They find that he constructed the new megaweapon for The Schismaticus Collective on commission, with no particular ties to the organization.  In asking for help on how to destroy his creation, Dead Heat suggests that it may be far less simple than Faydra hoped.
