  • Today we have the absolute powerhouse that is Sabrina Frederick joining us and we are so excited to bring you this episode!!

Sabrina is not only an elite athlete paving the way for women in AFL, but she is also keeping us glued to our screens as we watch the highly addictive yet controversial reality TV show that is SAS Australia.

Sabrina describes herself with the simple yet powerful statement 'I’m a Black woman in a same sex relationship working in a male dominated sport" and we talk about all of that.

We chat all things AFL, how Sabrina got into the sport, she tells us all about her fiance, how they met and who proposed to whom. Then the scene that divided the nation, the boxing match between Sabrina and Nick "honey badger' Cummins, we find out what really went down, along with some other SAS goss of course! Like who she would take into battle if she could only choose one person, and it may not be who you think!

Sabrina opens up and talks about her experiences and her thoughts on the Black Lives Matter movement and some of the issues she faced growing up.

All in all this was such a beautiful conversation and we can all learn a lot from the inspiration that is Sabrina Frederick.
    You can follow Sabrina @sabzizzle

Today we have an international student whose boyfriend just pulled the pin on their partnership visa, meaning she wouldn't easily be able to stay, but he still wants to be with her. Is this cool? Should she stay? Should she give up? Should she go and marry someone else for a visa!? (Of course not don't be silly that is very illegal)

Then a relatively simple yet wildly common question, "How soon is too soon to move on? Should you get under someone to get over someone?" (if the man in question has a last name Hemsworth than yes, the answer is always yes, get under)

Then we have a woman that found something in her husband's email that you never want to see. When and how can she confront him, especially when she was searching through his email to start with!

We absolutely LOVE ask uncut so please keep your questions rolling in! (literally any topic is welcome)

  • Happy LIFE UNCUT DAY lifers! We hope your week is off to a flying start!
We’ve got a big ep coming up today. We have our sister bachelorettes Elly and Beckie on and ask them the hard questions. We chat all things breakups and 'sort of' love declarations, find out where Elly’s love story is at and suss out if all the media speculation about Frazer chatting up other girls is true. Then we hear about Beckie’s heartbreak, how this devastating  breakup was delivered (spoiler- it’s not cool) and where it all went wrong.

But before that, we chat call-out culture.
Call out culture is a modern form of reprimanding on social media, after Laura shook things up on her own social media over the weekend - we thought we needed to unpack this.

Should we be doing it? And if so, how?

  • In the words of Ross and Rachel, WE WERE ON A BREAK!

Lifers, there’s going to come a time in most of our lives where we feel unsettled, uncomfortable, suffocated, anxious and maybe just a little confused in our relationship. Maybe you just need to figure some shit out on your own for a hot second, maybe it’s trying to forgive an infidelity, deciding if you want kids or maybe it’s more lifestyle based like wanting to focus on a career change! Either way you need to figure it out alone. But here’s the thing, you still love your partner and don’t want it to end! It’s tricky territory... but sounds like you guys need a break!!

We tend to shudder when we hear the words ‘break’ but it’s not necessarily the worst thing and definitely isn’t the end of the world like we are made to believe!

There are some things you can do to make it go more smoothly though and to bring you back bigger, better, stronger and more in love than ever. And we’re going to tell you.

Thanks to todays sponsor @bumble_australia we are also bringing you some great conversation starters and opening lines... Britt and Laura both share their (slightly weird) opener and we want to know who’s you think is better (let’s be real, it’s ‘the best of a bad bunch’ kinda vibe)
If you want to take Bumbles quick online quiz to see your dating style you can do so here https://thebeehive.bumble.com/conversation-starters-generator/

If you listen every week but haven’t actually hit that subscribe button yet or left a review... WHERE YOU AT!? Haha but seriously. As an independent podcast this is the stuff that really helps us grow and keeps us in your ears each week. So what are you waiting for!

Have a great week guys and share the love, because, well, we love love! X

  • "Your age doesn’t determine if you can be successful, and your bank account doesn’t determine if you are happy."

Today we are talking timeline pressures, career changes and running your own race!

But before we do that we have some hella cute Bumble success stories!

Have you noticed we are all in hurry to get there, wherever that may be! In a hurry to grow up, graduate, become successful, in a hurry to get things done. We get upset when things don’t go our way, when results are not achieved instantly. It’s one big race and we are petrified of being left behind.
Timelines have consciously or subconsciously been ingrained in our minds from the beginning. Whether it was uni graduation by 21, owning property before 30, getting married and having kids by 35 or retirement by 60. It seems there is always something that should have been done by a certain age or time. Maybe somewhere along the way you've wanted to change your career path but the thought of change and failure is too much, so you just don't.

But then, society has this funny way of making us feel that if we don’t accomplish these deadlines, we are failing. We start existing in this vicious cycle of feeling unaccomplished, unsuccessful and a little lost. We start questioning why we aren’t where we were 'meant' to be. We start comparing our timelines to others timelines. Well, we are here to tell you that your journey is YOURS and hot damn you can run that race any way you see fit!

Thanks to todays sponsor @bumble_australia , where women are empowered to take control of their dating life and make the first move.

If you love hearing us twice a week guys pretty please do us a solid and hit 5 stars, leave a review and share the love, because, well, we love love x

  • Happy Tuesday Lifers!

This week because Laura has been severely unwell and hasn’t been able to get out of bed we’ve had to mix it up a little and do the old switcheroo! So today we are bringing you ‘ask uncut’ and on Thursday you’ll get your juicy episode (hopefully Laura can talk again by then!)

Not only that but we have a special guest joining Britt today to answer your deepest, darkest questions... (drum roll please) it’s Laura’s other half Matt! About time we got a males perspective right?! We thought we’d really take advantage of his ‘expertise’ so we chat all things ghosting - why guys do it and also how to let them down easy, we chat jealousy and uncertainty in relationships, and how to know the difference between ‘grass is always greener’ or if you actually want to end the relationship.
You don’t want to miss this one!
If you enjoy the episode guys please hit subscribe, 5 stars and share the love, because, well, we love love x

  • It’s Tuesday lifers! And we are taking a walk with the green eyed monster.
But first we are unpacking you most hilarious Bumble online dating stories thanks to todays sponsor - you guessed it Bumble!

Chances are, unless you’re a a beautiful, unique, mythical unicorn mermaid, you’ve experienced jealousy at some stage of your life, especially in romantic relationships. Maybe for reasons that are warranted or maybe it comes from a place of deep insecurity, either way we are going to get to the bottom of it because it is not conducive to a healthy relationship.

There is one kind of jealousy that we are really going to deep dive into, and that is retrospective or retroactive jealousy, which is when one experiences painful thoughts and an intense overwhelming and all consuming curiosity and obsession with their partners past relationships and sexual history. And let us tell you, it’s real and never ends well.

Thank you to today’s sponsor, Bumble. The dating app where women make the first move. An app that empowers users to connect with confidence whether dating, networking, or meeting friends online.

  • Happy Tuesday guys!

We have a bloody big episode for you today with back to back interviews!
First up we have the first ever Bachelorette sisters Elly and Becky Miles! We get to know the girls, chat embarrassing stories and how exactly a double sister bachelorette actually works!

Then we jump into something a little more serious but something we feel very passionately about. This past few weeks we’ve seen an online dating story go viral. And not for reasons you may hope.
Ebonie Sanderson, a local bondi woman has come forward detailing the horrific abuse she received online from a man named Tom McGuirk. What we all first thought was just a tirade of abusive  messages and voicemails simply because she declined to spend the night with him, turned in much more, with women from all over coming forward to detail their abuse at the hands of Tom McGuirk. From abusive messages, to voicemails, multiple fake accounts in order to troll, to blackmail and threats of stalking.
We wanted to get Ebony on to talk us through her experience , why she felt compelled to go public and to have a wider conversation about consent.

This is an important conversation guys so please share with your friends!

Hit subscribe, five stars and share the love, because, well, we love love x

Once we got past that slippery little detail that was so easily forgotten we jumped in to answering your questions!!

This week we have a work dilemma. How to tell your boss you’re uncomfortable with some of his vocabulary.

A girl that was broken up with by the love of her life and didn’t see it coming. She wants to know “what she did wrong so she can avoid doing it again” and girl, you did nothing!!

And a realllllll pickle... how do you tell the guy you’ve not that long ago started dating that he’s going bald because he may not actually know.... or do you even tell him at all? What a predicament!

Thanks for tuning in lifers! We love and appreciate every one of you!

Firstly, Laura announced she is having baby number 2 and we couldn't be happier! She kept that a bloody good secret did't she! We chat all about her finding out, telling Matt, how and why she kept it a secret for 5 months, how this pregnancy is different and if she knows what she is having.
Then we get in to the big stuff. Mean girl behaviour, Internalised mysogyny, Internalised sexism, whatever you want to call it. We seem to be seeing it everywhere at the moment, thanks to the likes of reality tv, articles, social media, within our own friendship groups, So we wanted to take a deep dive and get all disecty with it.
