"Even if nobody listened to my podcast, I'd still do it."
That's what a lot of podcasters say. And I'm not one to call people liars, but let's get real -- it's a lot more fun to make a podcast if people actually listen to it.
Promoting your podcast online is great, but if you want to go really big with your podcast, you can reach a lot more people offline. In this episode, I talk about a way to get traditional press for yourself and your podcast.

Urban Dictionary defines "time suck" as "Something that's engrossing and addictive, but that keeps you from doing things that are actually important, like earning a living, or eating meals, or caring for your children."
The same definition could be used for social media.
But social media also has its advantages. It's a great research tool and a great way to find new listeners for your podcast.
This episode talks about how to use social media to create a better podcast and expand your podcast audience.

You've probably heard the saying, "People vote with their wallets." And that's true, but they also vote with their time.
Time is more valuable than money. You can make more money, but you can't make more time.
Will somebody take the time to listen to your podcast? Hopefully.
Want to improve the chance of this happening? You need to get feedback. And this episode talks about how to do it...

If you want your podcast to stand out in directories such as Apple Podcasts or Google Play, you need to have great artwork.

In a perfect world, at least a perfect world for podcasters, potential listeners would actually listen to your podcast before making a decision as to whether it's any good or not.
But that doesn't happen.
When searching for a new podcast to listen to, potential listeners are looking at the title of your podcast, the names of podcasts episodes, and your podcast cover art.
And the description of your podcast...
This episode is about how to write a compelling description for your podcast that makes potential listeners want to download an episode and see that they're missing!

Podcasts aren't radio shows. People listen to podcasts from the beginning. And people who listen to podcasts have hundreds (and even thousands) of options other than your podcast.
Because of these things, it's important to have a great podcast intro that will let listeners know they're in the right place and keep them listening.
In this episode, I talk about a 3-part "teaser" intro that does both of these things and more...

Go to any podcast directory, look at the podcasts listed, and you'll see the majority of them will make you wonder, "What's that podcast about?"
Your podcast deserves better. You want a show name that will let people know exactly what you do and what they can expect when they press play.
This episode shows how to come up with the perfect name for your podcast.
Already have a "perfect" name for your podcast? I've got an option for you too...

Want to make your podcast stand out from the crowd?
The best way for you to not only attract new listeners, but also develop solid relationships with them is to have a very clear point-of-view. In other words, taking a stand and letting listeners know how you really feel.
But won't that piss people off?
Yes. You'll lose some people. But a solid point-of-view will help you get your message and branding so clear, you'll more than make up for those people with new listeners who will love what you're doing.
NOTE: While not everybody will agree with your point-of-view, it doesn't have to be controversial. Take a listen to Jeff Brown's Read To Lead Podcast for a great example of a strong example of this.

The 28-Day Podcast Jumpstart is about helping you improve three things -- your podcasting skillset, your mindset, and marketing of your podcast. There are plenty of technically perfect podcasts created with top-of-the-line technology that never get heard.
But... There are a few tech issues we need to talk about when it comes to building a strong foundation for your podcast...
