Three movies. All divisive. But here they are in Spielberg’s Top 20. Perhaps I’m throwing a dog a bone here, but what do I care? I like dogs. Nothing is wrong with loving what you love… however, with that said, there are very objective reasons why my favorites don’t land closer to the top.

It says a lot about Steven Spielberg’s filmography when two epic adventure flicks can’t even make his Top 20. Especially ones that are backed up by rich source material that countless people have cherished for decades.

There was so much potential here. In fact, I’m a tad bit frustrated about ranking these films so low, because I do see a masterpiece tangled up in their webs of flaws and missteps. However, at this point in the list, let’s be serious… I don’t hate these movies — but the point is that I could’ve loved them.
