On today's episode of Another Glass of Sharlie Faye, we sit down with Melissa Bourbonnais, whom I had the pleasure of going to school with for most of my childhood. Melissa grew up within a very strict religious community and decided in high school that she didn't want to be a part of it anymore. She shares what it was like growing up with her parents and her sisters and how her transition of leaving the community affected her then and still affects her now.
Melissa has opened up the conversation even more by inviting you to ask her questions on her personal platform if you would like to know more. You can find her on instagram @melissabourbonnais. -

You read that right. Molly is BACK on the podcast again this week and we are diving deep in all things sex. Growing up, the outside world always made it seem like sex was such a taboo subject. It wasn't talked about enough and when it was talked about, women weren't viewed as the main character. We're changing that. We're talking about it. We're having real conversations.
ENJOY!

On this week's episode, I will be chatting with Sherry Brown. A wife, a mother, a successful entrepreneur, and a survivor. We talk cultural differences and how they’ve impacted her life as a woman who has lived in 3 very different countries. She shares her experiences living as an Indian woman who has suffered from being sexualized as a child by a trusted family friend and the importance of normalizing the conversation.
We’ll be diving deep into a serious topic which effects 1 in 3 women worldwide. If you are one of the 33% of women who have experienced sexual assault, you are not alone. If at any point you need to pause or stop listening altogether, that is totally okay and I hope you know that I stand with you.
Sexual Violence New Brunswick 24 hour support line remains open to provide emotional support to those impacted by sexual assault. They can be reached at 506-454 0437 - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

On today's episode of Another Glass of Sharlie, we welcomed guest speaker Molly Hope from Molly Ilse Photography. We talk about the pressure to be perfect in today's society. How women as a whole have been put in a position of discomfort being forced to live up to fitting in a mold that the media has created for us. We open up about our experiences as pre-teens and young adults and discuss the emotions we felt growing up at the same time as social media did.
